I think alot of what you have to say is legitmate, but there is more to it then that. You see, this conception of conservative / liberal is an artificial construct of those in power used as a diversion to keep people from knowing whats actually going on, i.e. lobbying by big business, etc. I do not like Obama because I had expectations for him to stand up to lobbyist and big business and represent the people. Although I wanted to give him the benfit of the doubt, the reality is he is a politcian, and polticians sell out to get elected and stay in office. I thought he was a liar before he was elected and nothing has changed. So yah, people hate him because the spin doctors want them too, but then people like me and many others on ATS don't like him because, simply put, he is a TOOL.

I am an independent and I an unbiased. I was not a fan of Bush either, nor Clinton, and so on. They do not do what is in the best interests of the people, but of TPTB. That is why I do not like Obama or any of the rest of them.

Somewhat agreed. To me President Obama is thus far not a "Great" President, but rather the least offensive of my political choices. If ever I want to remind myself of the alternatives I take a hard look of the leaders of the conservative movement...Sarah Palin, Rush, Boehner et al....those are some seriously morally bankrupt propaganda loving folks. If ever legit criticism of the POTUS arises I'd be quick to stand behind it as should be done in a democracy, but unfortunately intelligent critique is drowned out by lunatic rage.

I don't know who's running that politifact site, but a quick overview of his "promises broken" is leaving out a few massive ones.

Like ending the wars, not hiring lobbyists, etc..

His administration is loaded with Goldman Sachs bankers.

His administration is loaded with communists and other criminal looters hell bent on destroying the currency and this nation by expanding government debt to bailout their crony partners in crime.

His administration has done everything in its power to expand the welfare-warfare state of the American empire.

Strong words! So how do you propose to set things right? See, we all know that there's a secret shadow government at work in the US of A that calls the shots. Obama is pushing hard against this lard to set some of the things right. But he's up against a pretty hard wall. It ain't easy by any stretch of imagination. Anyone else in his place wouldn't have fared any better. But a neo-con at the helm of affairs would probably have sent America into a dizzying spiral down the chute by now. This hasn't happened.

He speaks about the same thing that every general has advised...a phased withdrawl and he has kept his promise which helps with stability and ensures the troops remain safe during the process.

HE WAS TALKING IN THE PRESENT TENSE. STARTING A PHASED WITHDRAWL WHEN THE STATEMENT WAS MADE in 2007

He was talking about a bill he had supported as a Senator at the time that would have BEGUN THE PHASED WITHDRAWL IMMEDIATELY/THEN...WHEN THE STATEMENT WAS MADE...and thus had the combat focused troops home by "March 31st" the following year.

NOT a promise for his presidency...a Proposed bill in 2007 at the time which congress did not pass.

That bill did not pass...he WAS NOT discussing his presidential plans, he was stating if we began a phased withdrawl THEN as the bill he supported proposed, we could have combat troops out by March 31st the following year.

There's this thing called the CPI that measures its value against hard goods.

The dollar appears to be "stronger" against other currencies simply because they are also printing money and debasing their currency.

History shows us that inflation and money printing wipes out the middle class.

How about obama and his administration bashing the AZ law, then admitting they hadn't read it?

How about obama claiming in a very recent speech that there was no need for the AZ law because the federal government needed to do more, and then following that with a request to cut the federal budget for border enforcement?

How about the disgraceful appearances with the mexican president while he criticized the AZ law - even though the the mexican immigration law is almost a carbon copy of the AZ law, and then a member of obama's administration dared to compare the AZ law to chinese human rights abuses?

How about the disgraceful actions of democrats in congress when they gave the mexican a standing ovation for repeating his BS in front of a joint session?

There's REAL DISHONESTY for you, and just a few reasons many no longer take obama and his supporters seriously.

I have a degree in economics, you are referring to the consumer price index/inflation...which has been virtually non-existent over his presidency and even took a dip backwards one month..the first time in 28 years.

See the CPI has grown steadily for a over a century...so first saying it represents the dollar is just plain wrong...secondly saying Obama is responsible for the CPI growing the very small amount it has...that is just dumb..it always grows...always has...


The USDX is the best measure of the strength of the US dollar and the dollar is strong now and stronger than it was when GW left office.
