So this is yet again another far-right attempt to put out a rumor as fact and a thread to let people rant and throw out random anti-American/Secret-Muslim/Nazi/Socialist digs at the President.

"Coddle Ignorance".
"Deny Research."
"Paste Hannity".



I think people just flagged from the headline alone...didn't even look to see if it was true.
This stuff keeps lowering the ATS bar.

Nope everything you listed in your post is absolutely correct, and I agree 100%. All I'm trying to say is we all come to ats to vent our frustration, weather what I say is right or wrong and whatever you say is right or wrong, we can all have our own opinion. What a boring world it would be if we all agreed all the time. Back to the topic on hand, thank you op for bringing this to our attention, in true spirit of ats fashion let's keep an eye on these things and see if a pattern develops. Then we can say for sure it's intentional.

I asked a few pages back why this isn't in HOAX yet...it has been proven a lie over and over...but yet it continues to stay.

So ATS has become a place where false propaganda has a home...how many have come here...saw this title...read the OP...went on their way and went on to tell friends about this. And of course they will say "I saw it on ATS...it must be true".

So why not in hoax...any mod wish to comment about that?

Wow, I think this thread has hit a milestone. This is literally the most dramatic thing I've ever seen on ATS. This is really kind of amazing.

Whatt!!!?? I can't believe this! Its an outrage. Its not very patriotic of the president to give a press conference without the flag!! what the heck??

The flag is considered a living person, from what I've read on the flag code. The rules and code are very lengthy, so it's not surprising to see some 'mishaps' sometimes.

Maybe this was before the cameras were rolling and they were not finished setting up the display? I would certainly expect it to be very standard procedure to have the flag(s) there at all times. Maybe this isn't the usual room used, so it was forgotten?

I don't know, but this has been blown out of proportion like so many other threads. (This site has rules against arguing and !!!! and ALL CAPS, but for some reason here it still seems especially rampant. I remember being worried to make a mistake and get banned when I first joined. It seems like so many others just ignore that on a regular basis.)

Anyway...

If it happens again, I'd give it some legitimate concern.

I'm not in denial of anything, not even the irony of the fact that I made a grammatical error while typing in haste. Still a far cry from not knowing what they hang on tombstones. And incidently, plenty of other presidents have sent proxys to lay the wreath. However, I think it was kind of early in his presidency to do that. Really, I think he should be down in the gulf helping wash oil off of birds. Not a photo op, literally helping. But then that's just me. What he probably should be doing is kicking the proverbial a$$ of every regulator from the gulf to alaska and making THEM wash the oil off the birds.

I knew Ronald Reagan hated America. Why doesn't anyone ever say Barack Obama is just the new Ronald Reagan? They even look alike.

The rock head regulators need to taste their own handy work, same with the Companies involved, I would be making people pee pee with my energy given the infraction.

But really, the way people perceive BO is way off IMO, he is a might corporate for a socialist or hardcore lefty. Reagan was not very conservative in practice, Obama is not very liberal in a similar fashion.

Hmmmm, if the flag is considered a person by flag code...doesn't that mean that it was the flag's own responsibility to be present at the conference, being that it is it's own person and it has the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness (considering it is an American citizen, that is)? It would though, have the right then, to remain silent, or even go to a cafe for a cup of joe. Sorry. You all are wrong. The flag's cell phone died and Obama couldn't reach it. The flag didn't even know about the conference, but just feels down right awful over the whole mess. I'm just kidding, in all actuality the flag and I have been at my pad playing Yahtzee and having a blast with this thread.
