And this venom will be preached in the area where they fulfilled their obligations to Allah! Talk about being incitefull, this just reinforces their agenda to dominate the world through terror.
Please don't quote the Old Testament, Christ eliminated the old law with his death on the cross. But nothing has changed the quran.

I just want to know what has happened to common decency and discretion. Surely the people who want to build this mosque understand that building it really close to ground zero will be offensive to a lot of other Americans. Understanding that, why insist on building two blocks from ground zero - why not four or six. What is so important to them about this particular site?

I understand they are within their rights to build it there but why are those of us who are offended by this action expected to be all considerate and open minded. Why doesn't anyone think THEY could also be a little more considerate of our position??

Actually Muslims are constantly denouncing terrorism. Why do you not hear about it? Because that is not good for those in power who want people to be afraid and for the "War on Terror" to continue indefinitely. During the Cold War, did you think every Russian was out to kill you, or did you know that the Soviet army, under orders from the top, would be the ones carrying out any attacks? bin Laden did not kill to try to convert people. He clearly said why he declared war on the US: American soldiers on Muslim soil. Does that make it right? Heck, no. But it was not because he was trying to convert the US.

It's like taking an enemy line in war and raising your flag to show your enemy what ground you have just gained. Building a mosque there may be legal under law but taken in the context of 911, (an act of holy war) it's immoral.

Expect the poop to hit the fan once it's erected.

I think it would be great to see a Synagogue, a christian Church , and the Mosque all towering the landscape......side by side.
And perhaps a Buddhist temple.
Yes then people could perhaps realise people inside these buildings are all trying to improve themselves and their world.
But who knows, New York is predominantly Jewish , so it will have some symmetry if only a Mosqueis built.

I think this is the most sensible solution if people are serious about this being a peace measure. Bring the religions together, side by side. Let them exist beside each other.

I wonder if the mosque would have issues with a church of another faith being built beside it?

New York City demographics puts residents of the Jewish faith at 13%.

Hardly "predominant" by any measure.

I for one am appalled they would even consider building a mosque of all things near ground zero. Now I know it wasn't Muslim's per-say, just that the terrorist did 9/11 and all. But that fact is, is when people look at this mosque, what will they think of in their head? They won't think of the people that died and they wont think of the people that saved many lives. When people look at this, all they'll think about is the terrorists that killed those people. I know it isn't right but that's how people will think. Now wouldn't you rather have a church, a community center, a boys and girls club, I don't know, something that will better suite the community.

It saddens me that people are still so gullible to believe that Muslims attacked us on 9/11. Did Osama make Norad stand down? No Dick Cheney did. Plus of the 19 hijackers a bunch of them turned out to be alive. Osama has still not been charged for the attacks according to the CIA. If you really believe some Muslim in a cave got all these guys (who were all on the terorist watch list) past our security and able to hit 75% of their targets. You are a sorry lot.

I'm not surprised. Presence of new mosque on ground zero is merely to create lasting impression that USA is not anti-Islam. US government think that all people (including Moslems/Islamists) are dumb to believe such propaganda and charade.

Second, US government is attempting to mold Islam's teachings to their preferred version. This has been happening in many countries where Islam is being contaminated by atheist concepts.

This is not a seed of peace.
