not exactly correct. There is plumes that are subsea that they mentioned but they are far offshore in deep water. On the inland waters, the oil is floating on the surface and it is just a film.
People, that water is not only capped with oil, but you all do realize that it is inundated hundreds of feet down too?
I agree, hard to believe.
This is Fu(king Unbelievable.
I disagree, we need to continue offshore drilling but we need the government to not be allowed to accept campaign contributions from oil companies so that they don't feel obliged to look the other way and waive safety regs.
Offshore drilling must stop now!
Yes he is staying away, trying to not be implicated in it, he should be taking charge and be on location pushing his weight around. Maybe hanging out with Costner.
Obama could not be more irresponsible to the biggest environmental catastrophe in our life time than he is right now.

Well it has more to do with than just driving. Have you ever used anything made or packaged with plastic? Thought so, see your not so innocent!!!
This goes further than BP folks. Sure they created the mess but it's time to hold our govt responsible they haven't been acting with enough urgency to deal with the situation. I'm pretty sure by now that the powers that be know something that we don't, and that is the cause for their lack of attention to the matter.

Guys ? No one seriously notices that the brown colored water that is supposed to be the oil is also the same color as the rivers that empty out into the gulf?
The brown color that you are seeing is silt from the Mississippi and other rivers that spill into the gulf, the water is always brown in that area, the further you get away from the coastline the bluer the water gets.
I hate this oil disaster as much as the next person but this is alarmist disinformation and just not right.
sorry to be the party buster.

The more oil we produce ourselves the less dependent we need to be on the sand dwellers. More money we keep in the U.S. adn more jobs for the unemployed.
Drill, Drill, Drill, deep, wide, everywhere and often!
Down with environmentalist and open up Anwar!!

We don't have free energy. Ancient people didn't have free energy. Even if we did have access to zero point tech it wouldn't be free. I agree that this sort of thing sucks but no need to go all ATS on it... oops

I wonder why N.A.S.A. didn't have the Shuttle Atlantis or the I.S.S. take some photographs from L.E.O. They (I.S.S. or Shuttle) don't hesitate to show us the latest Hurricane, Volcanic Cloud, etc. But this time nothing. No photos of the Gulf. Nothing.

Here's you thought. Oil in the gulf, not even a quarter of what the Exxon Valdez spilled. Environmental impact not even a drop in the bucket compared to the Valdez. But President Bush jumped on it like a chicken on a june bug and the problem was solved. WTF is Obama doing? Oh he formed a blue ribbon panel to study the spill.....HOLY COW!
If it leaks for three more weeks the Gulf of Mexico will officially be as dirty as the Hudson river.
Side note: One benefit of the Gulf blow out is it's hindering Cuban boat people.

Probably for the same reason they didn't use those to locate Osama bin Laden!
What we don't see....doesn't exist after all!
