I agree with the OP!

I don't even think the concept of securing the borders needs to be that complicated. We don't even need any new laws or regulations regarding illegal immigrants.

All we need to do is enforce the laws already on the books.

The border patrol can't and hasn't for many years for a variety of reasons.

We should be calling in the national guard if need be because technically we should be doing everything in our power to enforce the laws we already have in place. We just don't see that happening.

It's like so many people don't want to charge illegal immigrants with anything other than deportation because they consider illegal immigrants innocent people just looking for a better life... It's as if Americans are worried that enforcing the law will upset Mexico or Mexican people somehow.

WHO GIVES A ****!? The laws are in place for a good reason. There are ways for the Mexican people to live a better life without flooding into the United States illegally. Maybe if all those illegal immigrants weren't so concerned with fleeing their own country they might actually be able to work together and change things for the better in their own country.

This whole issue is so ridiculous and our leaders never take it seriously enough to deal with the issue head-on. Presidents always talk about what they'll do and how their ideas will work but nothing ever gets done to resolve the problem. The american leadership has waltzed around this issue for decades like a kid on a circus carousel.. In the meantime, things have continued to worsen. If our leaders continue to do nothing, dissent will grow. Desparate times call for desparate measures. This is why we're seeing states starting to take matters into their own hands.

If the government won't enforce the laws already on the books, the states have to do it themselves in an effort to stem the tide of illegal immigrants. What else are they supposed to do? Desparate times call for desparate measures.

This isn't just about illegal immigrants either. It's about human trafficking, it's about drug smuggling, it's about Mexican gangs and drug cartels, it's about cutting this stuff off from our own country before it gets to public schools and city street corners.

People seem to forget that immigration problems in ANY country are the doing of that countries Governments and it suits their political agenda to have such social problems.

All Americans - Ask yourself: Why is it that Bush/Obama does/did nothing about the southern borders?

Is it possible that it keeps the population moaning about the influx of mexicans and the loss of jobs can be easily blamed on this section of society?

The "trouble" with arguments like yours is that regardless of whatever divisive "tactic" is being employed, without one helluva fight (& then, maybe in spite of it), this invasion of America, this drain on the Treasury and out of our pockets will continue until we are bled dry and this country bears no remote resemblance to what it was 10, 20, 30 years ago. Parts of the city where I live bear no resemblance- NONE, to the city I grew up in. It is utterly foreign- even in a different language.
This is not some idle threat- some ploy. It is borne out in the healthcare/ PhRma bailout- to provide insurance coverage for people who are not even US citizens while some US citizens go without. The CNN story for which SpaceCadet has a thread is another example- where an illegal living in this country for 14 YEARS obtained financial aid *that US citizens cannot get because their place was taken by an illegal alien..

This isn't a game. It is very real. It has been at our peril that we didn't pay attention & take action on it long, long ago. The outcry against amnesty in 06 or 07 was a result of our experience with Ronald Reagan's amnesty. NOT. AGAIN.

All the wheedling, cajoling, shaming & rationalizing is never going to convince people away from what they know is right and best for their families. The people who are tearing this country apart are the ones who promote illegal immigration and the illegals who are invading & demanding more.

Regardless of the dressing of this post, and the OPs stated intent - the reality is that this is racism, pure and simple.

The nazis managed to convince a nation to consent to GENOCIDE off the back of similar BS, and I'm honestly amazed every time I see an article like this getting stars. There must be a lot of racist hicks in the US, and before anyone mentions it, we do have an immigration 'problem' here in the UK too. However, the majority of rational people can see that in comparison to where they come from, the UK has a much higher standard of living - you can't blame them for trying to improve their lot.

I am beginning to believe that people who think like this are all part of the elite plan as well. These people often think that since the elite want us to be concerned over it, we shouldn't. Well to not address the problem only makes the situation worse. Its a WIN-WIN for the elite.

The US cant allow everyone who is poor and hungry to come over! Its impossible we dont have the resources. So who gets to choose who is coming over and being legalized if we open borders?

The only way to help Jose or Wendimu and be fair about it is to stop fighting wars and use the money to help FIX their countrys problems and remove the corruptness.

If you are interested in founding out what criminal offenses ALL ILLEGALS are guilty of, just look it up.
If a person is in this country ILLEGALLY, by default, they are a criminal. Thus the term ILLEGAL.

You know i find it funny when i was last on here yesterday and there was only 6 pages, and now i believe we are now up to 14. Every freaking page is almost the same. If your for getting illegals out of here your a "racist" or a "disgusting human being" or "uneducated". When you move to a new country you are expected to conform to said country's way of living and to contribute, thats just common sense if you know how to think logically.

How would you like it if i was to show up at your front door and tell you, you need to start learning how to speak my language, that i don't like the music you play and that i want you to start playing music i like. Chances are if i showed up to your front door making these requests and statements, you would probably greet me with whatever your weapon of choice is and tell me to get the hell off your property.

You don't come to someone else's country to try and make it like the one you so very much wanted to get away from! You don't come here to reap the benefits that my family and many other families have died for without making some kind of contribution to my country, you have not earned the right if you are an illegal!
