I have indian ancestory on my Mother's side. The tribe was nearly wiped out by another tribe. NOT the white man! Yes, imagine that indians fought each other

Your "logic"...or lack of...baffles me.

So since the tribe that you have a connection to was nearly wiped out by another tribe means what? That the white man didn't come to this land and push the natives (the ones the didn't kill) into tiny reservations???

What is your reasoning behind pointing this out?

Many of us have worked with or know illegals who have worked the system and they tell you how. It's wrong.

And how do you feel when Americans are working the system?

Does the title American make it all right to rip off their fellow Americans?

Furthermore, illegals don't write the laws that allow them to work the system.

Don't act like it isn't about race...every measure anyone ever talks about is targeting Hispanics or the southern border. The motivation is clear...you can deny it all you want...but that is the truth.

No, but, are you going to open up your home for Sven, pay his hospital bills, feed him, educate his children, pay for the children's medical needs..buy car insurance so he can drive one of your vehicles?

Unless you want to open your doors, to take care of all these people, you need to stop, right now.

Anyone who disagrees with you, you jump on personally. Make this your responsibility then, and don't expect people who don't agree with you to want their tax money spent on illegals.

While you try to make people look bad with your replies, nobody is denying that YOU should make it your own personal drama of taking care of illegals. You want 'em, heck, I say you can have 'em. Don't expect everybody to have the same compassion you do! Some of us want our tax dollars spent on what Americans might need.

Try deducting all of them on your income taxes as dependants while you are at it. Fake social security numbers and all!

Bunk.

More than 80% of this country were, at some point in their family lines, immigrants that then became citizens legally. There is a huge difference between the two.

Most of Immigrants come here for a better life , just because a few bad apples commit crimes doesn't mean ALL immigrants are dirty criminals.

Let me edit this the way it should read:

1. Most immigrants come here for a better life. YES!
2. There are a few bad apples.... YES! Citizens included!
3. All immigrants are not dirty criminals! NO! They are NOT!
4. But all illegal immigrants are criminals. YES! Unfortunately, there are.

And that, my friend, is the distinction.

We are not asking to remove immigrants that are citizens. We are not asking to stop people from applying for citizenship. We are not asking people not to want better for themselves. We are asking that they come to this country and enjoy ALL it has to offer legally.

That's it! That's what we want!
The rest is not a reply.

*********************************
For everybody getting confused with all of the talk about racism and closing borders and some kind of problem with skin color, I encourage you to realize what we are really talking about and to whom we are speaking.

TO ALL CURRENT AND FUTURE IMMIGRANTS:

Please continue to come to this country. Without you, we are not the melting pot so indicative of what America is and should be. We want you as neighbors, we want you to have the opportunities we have, we want to share with you EVERYTHING. We ask for only one thing in return:

Please follow our laws and come here legally so that you may fully integrate into our country and into our society and we can call you friend AND citizen.

If you don't, and we should find out that you are here illegally, we are committing a felony by not turning you into authorities. We are not allowed to employ you, we are not allowed to house you, we are not allowed to give you money or assist you in anyway.....otherwise WE have then committed a felony and WE will go to jail.

And since friendship can't often flourish with the threat of federal prosecution hanging over our heads, please, file the proper paperwork and become a citizen or permanent resident of this great country.

Signed,
Your Future Friend

Please...go find where I ever said I think they should all come here and get free stuff.

I said if they want to come here and work (which is what they do) then they should be able to.

No one has provided any sort of proof besides blogs and chain emails that shows that illegal immigrants recieve a large amount of welfare.

There are plenty of things I don't want my tax money being used for...but you don't hear me whining about it...do you? No...because I understand the system...I don't get everything I want...you don't get everything you want...that is how it works. Welcome to America.

This illegal alien should definitely be deported. She is a criminal.

Bautista was knocked off her feet. Three people landed on top of her.

After a few seconds, Bautista said, she stood up and saw blood and body parts everywhere. She ran to get medical supplies and helped bandage fellow soldiers and Iraqi citizens who worked on the base. Bautista's commanding officer and two Iraqi civilians were killed. More than a dozen soldiers and Iraqi citizens were wounded. "It was chaos," she said, tears falling down her face.

An illegal immigrant from Mexico, she had served six years in the U.S. military — including a 13-month tour in Iraq — and was eligible to apply for naturalization under a decades-old law.

But approval of her case depended on the discretion of citizenship officials. Bautista had served in the military under a false identity, that of her U.S. citizen aunt, Rosalia Guerra-Morelos.

While were at it let's deport this anchor baby as well.

Cejudo, crying the moment the match ended and wrapping himself in an American flag, defeated Tomohiro Matsunaga of Japan 2-2 on tiebreaker and 3-0 in the best-of-three match.

He is the son of undocumented Mexican immigrants who bypassed college to pursue his dreams of being an Olympian and won the gold medal in the freestyle wrestling event–the first U.S. champion of the sport’s lightest weight class since 1960.

Adapted from an article originally published on March 7, 1985

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.
Have you ever wondered why, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, we have deficits? Have you ever wondered why, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don’t propose a federal budget. The president does. You and I don’t have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does. You and I don’t write the tax code. Congress does. You and I don’t set fiscal policy. Congress does. You and I don’t control monetary policy. The Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president and nine Supreme Court justices – 545 human beings out of the 235 million – are directly, legally, morally and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

It is obvious that I am referring to people who are here illegally.

Ok...well let's start on the northern border first. Once we get that locked down 100% where no one can get through...we will then work on the southern border.

Does that work with you?

Thanks for finally seeing the light. We are now on the same side of the argument since you are right -- our Northern border has to be protected as well.

So yes, this certainly works for me!

ALL borders should be protected 100% of the time. I will not be satisfied if they only handle Mexico. All that does is push the problem around. The illegals in Florida didn't come from Mexico necessarily. Yet, they are as illegal. Illegals residing in Northern California and Washington or Oregon state didn't all come from Mexico. Yet, they are still illegal.

It's a crime.
Illegals from any country should not be permitted to reside here, illegally.
Our borders should be protected better than anything.

This is not a witch hunt. You eat an elephant one bite at a time. Arizona is in a crisis so they reacted first. Others will follow.

It's actually very simple:

All the government has to do is enforce our illegal immigrant laws in all 50 states. All of the time. Period.

I'm glad we now agree!!

You most certainly are the one who says they should be here. You have said it over, and over......

Being here, and working under a legal status, versus an illegal one, is the issue.

So, you think they should be here working illegally? Don't side step this one, it is a pointed question. YES OR NO!

Depending on your answer, it will determine your credibility.

Has anyone noticed that ATS is slowly turning into a breeding ground for posts like this? No longer anything ABOVE top secret. Just PURE political madness...

So I'll reiterate my point in a similar thread...

You know, after this long winded thread. I think one thing is very clear. None of us are right. But not because we are wrong. These are extremely similar debates that took place during the original Alien and Sedition Acts. They divided us then, and shaped our political ideologies to create terrible foreign and domestic policies. And they have apparently brought us full circle.

Maybe we can all agree that neither side is necessarily wrong. That each side has equally as valid views. Each with a hope for a peaceful and prosperous solution for all.

The problem I see though, made especially apparent in this last page is that none of us really has a resounding solution that could bring about any real change aside from the status quo with a new face.

I've come to accept that my behavior was pretty abhorrent. Primarily ego fueled to stress my firm stance and disgust for bigotry and racism. These are harsh words, but accurately describe some of the stereotypes presented here. However true that is I didn't take into account the firm held beliefs of those I was criticizing and the emotions they have in regards to the challenges it presents them. So I dismissed them immediately, and that's unfortunate.

My behavior and I hope others can admit, are the standard example of the issues that have been dividing us for so long. It's the arguing that has been separating us. The back and forth of dismissal.

Each of us has a solid belief, like a piece to a puzzle. But it feels like we all argue over which puzzle we go to. Rather than realizing we all go to the same puzzle, and need to find our proper place in this society. No matter what ethnic background we have inherited through our birth right or country some may have emigrated from.

So I ask, as I've been asked. Does anyone have a solution? Has anyone tried to speak with any local representatives or press regarding the issue with a proposal?

I see all the politicians promising an answer, at the cost of our rights. And we have continually forsaken them for the security and prosperity they have brought. But it feels as if that prosperity as at an end, and this time they seek more of our rights with no security or prosperity in turn.

So can anyone offer a solution that will cease the arguing separating us, and instead unite us in commonality despite our backgrounds without costing us our rights.

I think I'm going to take up the challenge. I'm going to study the blooms of the Alien and Sedition Acts thoroughly down to it's root including anything I can find of merit in relation to it. I will see if anyone can meet the challenge with a real solution to unite us all.

If I or anyone can complete this, would anyone here help grass root it through your communities?

Because this really does need to end. We need to devise a solution with our words, rather than reiterate our division amongst each other.

It may sound cheesy, who cares. It's honest.

EDIT: Being a bigot sure seems the easiest ways to get a flood of flags.

And just a side note, illegals in the cable industry?
) Maybe in rural America. I worked cable and telecom at many levels. Wan't to know how many illegals? ZERO...

You can't cite one thing in your OP. Not ONE. It's full of statements devoid of facts riddled in personal opinions.

Under federal law, illegally entering the country is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine and up to six months in prison for a first time. A second offense carries up to two years. If an immigrant has been prosecuted and deported and then sneaks back into the country, he can be charged with a felony punishable by up to two years behind bars. Those with criminal records can get 10 to 20 years.

www.foxnews.com...

Most are never charged with the misdemeanor. They are deported. But they are photographed and fingerprinted in case they return again.

Read all the threads on illegal immigration. We have repeated ourselves a thousand times. Many of us have worked with or know illegals who have worked the system and they tell you how. It's wrong.

Translation: I have no proof...all I have is hearsay.

Are you honestly going to keep lying to yourself like that?

My proof comes out of their own mouths! THEY admitted they were illegal. THEY admitted how they screwed the system. When you work with people long enough, you become like an extended family. You open up to each other, you get to be friends. They knew my opinion of what they were doing was wrong.

Some became legal after a while, many did not. How ignorant can you possibly be? I have read enough of your comments in these threads. You ignore facts, you call people names, you make assumptions. I present you with facts, not lies. Where would lies get me? You choose to blatanly ignore facts when they are presented to you. This didn't even deserve a reply but I replied anyway. I have proof. I was there. I listened to what they had to say. You want a video next time or what?

Seeing as a fact is something that is verifiable. I'm sure we would all be more appreciative if anyone could VERIFY the filth they peddle, rather than create a laundry list of assumptions.

EDIT: I would prefer a video that points out ALL illegals are criminals...

Please tell me you don't believe everything people tell you...because that is what you want me to do...just believe you because you have said it is true.

I don't blame the illegals at all. I completely blame the government for allowing it. When you lead with a blind eye long enough, you become blind. Which is exactly what has happened.

However, it doesn't change the fact that being here illegally is a crime. Whether it's enforced or not is on us, but it being a crime is merely a fact.

The law is not written according to emotional state. It's written as black and white as possible to leave little room for interpretation. (This is not always the case, it is just the ideal).

I feel for these people. I'm sure more than 99% are fine, respectful, decent people.

Unfortunately, that just doesn't change the fact that they broke the law and if you or I break the law, we face the consequences.

No I don't...that would be a crime. And just like I respect them for doing what they need to in order to provide for their families...I am not going to commit a crime because I need to provide for my family.

That doesn't change the fact that I respect what they are doing.

So...you're saying that it's ok for an illegal to take a job that replaces a citizen to feed their families? And what of that citizen that has been replaced, that has run out of benefits and has a family to feed? That throws them onto welfare where they have never been before and never wanted to be. They were forced into a situation because illegal immigration is out of hand.

The government and corporations are to blame. The illegals are to blame as well for the theivery of their false identities and false documentations.
