Internet giant Google today was hushing up the new dispute over President Obama's strange Social Security number by diverting searches for news reports on the issue to unrelated stories about Elena Kagan, oil, Tampa and the Federal Reserve.
The actual story, posted on WND.com, explained how two private investigators – working independently – are asking why Obama is using a Social Security number set aside for applicants in Connecticut while there is no record he ever had a mailing address in the state.
Under a Google news search for "President Obama Social Security number," the top four results all quoted, "By Jerome R. Corsi Two private investigators working independently are asking why President Obama is using a Social Security number set aside for applicants…"
Google spokesman Jake Hubert told WND that it appeared to be a "bug in the snippets." He said the company was looking into it.
However, the first link is to Politico's story about "Gay rights central to Elena Kagan fight," the second links to Politico's "Senate clears measure to audit Federal Reserve" story, the third links to a Politico story about the GOP plans for a convention in Tampa in 2012, and the last links to a Politico story about "Oil executives play pass the buck."

False. The card was mailed to your legal address.
False. You did not work if you had no S.S. Card, even at Baskin-Robbins. The tax must be paid.
I counted twenty five stars for this nonsense. C'mon people, think!

Well, that isn't right. I lived in Florida my whole life and mine is 591 for the first 3.
I think the SS office was more screwed up government.

You seem awfully certain of what other people have experienced in life. How do you come by such knowledge? What you say here means nothing. It cannot be "false" and then be mailed your legal address. They mailed it to the address you gave them. YOU are the one who says what your legal address is and if you say it is CT, then that is what they use.

Just not true, sorry. My mom still works in her sixties as she has all her life without being on the books. Do you know what that means? In 2010, she is working without providing a SSN. It happens.

You're absolutely correct. I'm sorry, my mind is not programmed for this type of devious thinking, I hadn't even thought about that.
The link stated there was no CT Obama address, so I ASSumed.
from what it said about Obama? Curious but thanks for admitting someone else was right about something. That seems to be an extremely rare trait on ATS.

Your mother works off the books? As in "under the table"?
Obama has dozens of SS#'s, and your mom has none.

While I applaud your mother's resistance, I question Obama's motives and means.
The Area Number is assigned by the geographical region. Prior to 1972, cards were issued in local Social Security offices around the country and the Area Number represented the State in which the card was issued. This did not necessarily have to be the State where the applicant lived, since a person could apply for their card in any Social Security office.

I dunno. This is such crazy stuff since Obama was elected.
Shouldn't we know all about our POTUS? Shouldn't everyone know all about the "leader of the free world" and the "most powerful man on earth"?
