Seriously, you are not a racist. You've been mislead by mass media by a massive distraction. It's always an us-versus-them dichotomy that makes the gears spin in this country. The external them (terrorists) and the internal them (illegals).

The truth of the matter is that illegal immigration is a NAFTA issue. It does no good to blame the immigrants themselves. If you want to place blame (though I find it quite a useless way to expend your energy) you could blame the corporations that maintain low wages and are MORE than happy to have the endless flood of labor.

Also, the corporations that offshore labor to Mexico (i.e., maquiladoras) for cheap production.

Think about it, is the US a service economy or a production economy and is being just one of the two reasonable? I'd say we're majority service, so consumption is constantly necessary to sustain us.

...but what about all the violence?

Well, that's a drug war issue, not an illegal immigration issue.

Statistically speaking, first generation Mexican immigrants (illegals or not) are much less likely - I repeat MUCH LESS LIKELY - than native born Whites and Blacks to commit crime.

However, the second generation of disaffected youth...as they are called in Spanish "ni de alli, ni de alla" (neither from here nor from there)...too brown to be "American"; too poor at Spanish to be Mexican....these are the "Mexicans" who commit crime. I say it in quotes because, lets face it, they're from here, so, in effect, Americanization = lower-classification = fostering of criminal mentalities, related to poverty, naturally.

So, go back to your childhood opinion of Mexico, and see that that is REAL. The illusion that you see in front of you is a form of Scapegoating...

Consider Arizona. Boring place, used to live there myself. Quite the little Police State - ahead of the curve for the country as it was with curfews, intersection cameras and the like when I was in highschool there, back in the late 90s. My recent visit showed me it has gotten worse.

At any rate, all of you self-identified TeaPartiers and Libertarian-types (not necessarily the OP) need to really take a step back. YOUR GROUPS should be the first and foremost to dislike this law. Seriously, do you think the "papers" requests will stop with the Mexican-looking people? How many more "domestic terrorists" until they just blanket the whole population of AZ and strip all rights away from the 4th Ammendment???

So, to solve the problems...shoot...I have no idea...I would say, start buying locally to put the large corporations out of business, because at the end of the day, they are the cause of every societal ill we have, as far as I see it.

***Oh, and those 5 douchebag high school kids in California on Cinco de Mayo. SERIOUSLY??? SERIOUSLY!?!? They wore shirts with the flag (well, flag-ish designs) and when the principal asked them to turn the shirts inside out, they said it would defame the flag. Please, you're wearing a fricking "TAPOUT" t-shirt.

At any rate, on Cinco de Mayo, 5 white kids want to start some sh*t with the mexican kids at their HS so they wear the American flag. I'm not saying they can't, I'm just saying if ALL 5 of them do it on A PERCEIVED Mexican holliday, you can only - ONLY - come to the conclusion that they wanted to brawl or offend or something.

I say "PERCEIVED" because lets be honest, it's not even Mexico's independence day...it's nothing all that special, except for Corona and Mexican Restaurants...it commemorates killing Napoleon III and the French outta Mexico. And of course FOX NEWS choose the one girl with a hispanic name to say "it's Mexican heritage" or what not. BS from every angle, just meant to incite hatred.

Please ignore this BS and don't let yourself get sucked into the status quo!

Also, the whole "why don't they go fix their own country?" argument is moot. I would reply, "Why don't we fix ours?" Let's face it, the moneyed interests in the US have a hand in the interests of Mexico. It's fact. NAFTA??? So, what exactly are poor subsistence farmers to do if their fruit of their labor is devalued by a flood of mass produced agroindustrial crops from the US? How can they get an extra peso or two from selling what they grow?

Also, I would say that between colonization (Spain) and various dictatorships (Porfirio Diaz who fled to France with some serious loot) as well as the stupid Drug War and Political corruption, tell me HOW they can fix it and what role the US plays in NOT allowing them to "fix" their country...whatever "fix" is supposed to mean.

See if any of this sounds familiar (or find the agenda in this song)

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You may say...blah, blah
...And the world will live as one

Sounds good, huh? Who can argue with peace, no greed or hunger, brotherhood of man? World united? Trouble is we've seen how that turned out. It ended up in just the oopposite.

Communism definition from Wikipedia
Karl Marx posited that communism would be the final stage in society, which would be achieved through a proletarian revolution and only possible after a transitional stage develops the productive forces, leading to a superabundance of goods and services.[2][3]
"Pure communism" in the Marxian sense refers to a classless, stateless and oppression-free society where decisions on what to produce and what policies to pursue are made democratically, allowing every member of society to participate in the decision-making process in both the political and economic spheres of life. In modern usage, communism is often used to refer to the policies of the various communist states, which were authoritarian governments that had centrally planned economies and ownership of all the means of production. Most communist governments based their ideology on Marxism-Leninism.
As a political ideology, communism is usually considered to be a branch of socialism, a broad group of economic and political philosophies that draw on various political and intellectual movements with origins in the work of theorists of the Industrial Revolution and the French Revolution.[4] Communism attempts to offer an alternative to the problems with the capitalist market economy and the legacy of imperialism and nationalism.
Marx states that the only way to solve these problems is for the working class (proletariat), who according to Marx are the main producers of wealth in society and are exploited by the Capitalist-class (bourgeoisie), to replace the bourgeoisie as the ruling class in order to establish a free society, without class or racial divisions.[1] The dominant forms of communism, such as Leninism, Stalinism, Maoism and Trotskyism are based on Marxism, as well as other forms of communism (such as Luxemburgism and Council communism), but non-Marxist versions of communism (such as Christian communism and Anarchist communism) also exist.

I would say the better question is "Why are there poor people in the first place?"

Also, again, illegal immigrants are statistically very unlikely to commit crime, less than Americans as a whole (European or African descent).

So in your mind a crime can be justified.

illegal immigrants are statistically very unlikely to commit crime

Over 25% of today's federal prison population are illegal aliens. In some areas of the country, 12% of felonies, 25% of burglaries and 34% of thefts are committed by illegal aliens."

Ignoring the "minor crime" such as ID theft and property crimes being committed by illegal aliens, here is a summary on some of the collateral damage reaped in crimes as a result of tolerating illegal aliens in the USA:

* In Los Angeles, 95% of some 1,500 outstanding warrants for homicides are for illegal aliens. About 67% of the 17,000 outstanding fugitive felony warrants are for illegal aliens.
* There are currently over 400,000 unaccounted for illegal alien criminals with outstanding deportation orders. At least one fourth of these are hard core criminals.
* 80,000 to 100,000 illegal aliens who have been convicted of serious crimes are walking the streets. Based on studies they will commit an average of 13 serious crimes per perpetrator.
* Illegal aliens are involved in criminal activities at a rate that is 2-5 times their representative proportion of the population.
* In 1980, our Federal and state facilities held fewer than 9,000 criminal aliens but at the end of 2003, approximately 267,000 illegal aliens were incarcerated in U.S. correctional facilities at a cost of about $6.8 billion per year.
* At least 4.5 million pounds of coc aine with a street value of at least $72 billion is smuggled across the southern border every year. ..
* 56% of illegal aliens charged with a reentry offense had previously been convicted on at least 5 prior occasions.
* Illegal aliens charged with unlawful reentry had the most extensive criminal histories. 90% had been previously arrested. Of those with a prior arrest, 50% had been arrested for violent or drug-related felonies.
* Illegal aliens commit between 700,000 to 1,289,000 or more crimes per year.
* Illegal aliens commit at least 2,158 murders each year – a number that represents three times greater participation than their proportion of the population.
* Illegal alien sexual predators commit an estimated 130,909 sexual crimes each year.
* There may be as many as 240,000 illegal alien sex offenders circulating throughout America. Based on studies, they will commit an average of 8 sex crimes per perpetrator before being caught.
* Nearly 63% of illegal alien sex offenders had been deported on another offense prior to committing the sex crime.
* Only 2% of the illegal alien sex offenders in one study had no history of criminal behavior, beyond crossing the border illegally.
* In Operation Predator, ICE arrested and deported 6,085 illegal alien pedophiles. Some studies suggest each pedophile molests average of 148 children. If so, that could be as many as 900,580 victims.
* Nobody knows how big the Sex Slave problem is but it is enormous.
* The very brutal MS-13 gang has over 15,000 members and associates in at least 115 different cliques in 33 states.
* The overall financial impact of illegal alien crimes is estimated at between $14.4 and $81 billion or more per year. Factor in the crime as a result of the coc aine and other drugs being smuggled in and the number may reach $150 billion per year.

Those aren't numbers to balk at.

I would add to my post above that communism/ socialism are based on the kibbutz. Now THINK about the proportion of Jewish people who sit in our Congress, on think tanks & foundations, etc, thereby having significant control of the policies & agendas of America. Jewish people make up approximately 2% of the US population.
These statements are NOT meant as "anti Semitism" in ANY way. It is merely a statement that Judaic ideology does not even represent half of the United States' citizens and therefore cannot be representation of our interests PER SE.

A kibbutz (Hebrew: קיבוץ, קִבּוּץ, lit. "gathering, clustering"; plural kibbutzim) is a collective community in Israel that was traditionally based on agriculture. Today, farming has been partly supplanted by other economic branches, including industrial plants and high-tech enterprises.[1] Kibbutzim began as utopian communities, a combination of socialism and Zionism In recent decades, many kibbutzim have been privatized and changes have been made in the communal lifestyle. A member of a kibbutz is called a kibbutznik

A high percentage of ethnic Jews in comparison to the percentage of the total population took an active part in Bolshevik movement and revolutionary leadership before the revolution and for years after[11][12] - see details below. Most of these Jews were hostile to traditional Jewish culture and Jewish political parties, and were eager to prove their loyalty to the Communist Party's atheism and proletarian internationalism, and committed to stamp out any sign of "Jewish cultural particularism"

NO I don't feel the same way about robbery. I'm talking about people who work hard and send most of their money back home to their families. I find that to be extremely admirable. Would you do that? Or are you too busy complaining on ATS that they took all the jobs, there's no more work for Americans...blah blah blah. Instead of complaining about how the Mexicans are hurting America why don't you explain how you are helping America. What are YOU doing to make it a better place?

So robbery is a bad crime and illegally entering the country in a mass invasion in order to send this countries wealth to another nation (who most here have agreed is corrupt throughout) is a noble crime.

Gotcha.

Although in the OP he is discussing illegal immigration, in the last line he discusses how he hates what Hispanic/Mexican pride groups have done to our country. I feel that people should be proud of their heritage. Just because somebody lives in America does not mean they should forget who they are or where they came from. I am not saying that I am for illegal immigration, you are the one assuming that I am. I was just stating that I find it admirable how hard a lot of Hispanics work to take care of there family. When someone is racist, it is not just to one part of the group, it's to the group as a whole. Why be racist? You might not like illegal immigration but to become racist over it is ignorant. I also read a line where it said there are now whole aisles for mexican food now, like that is a problem. That is just ridiculous to even point out. All in all, don't put words in my mouth. So you can take your "gotcha" and use it on someone else who cares what you have to say.

I can never understand how people can say that illegals are taking their jobs. Most illegals work low paying, back breaking jobs with little to no benefits. If these are the kinds of jobs that you are aiming for, then you need to take a second look at your life.

Just some words of advice; before you hate on a whole group of people, maybe take the time out to actually get to know these people. You will find that most of these people are simply here to get new opportunities to help out their families back home. Who are we to deprive them of that right?

1) Illegals should not be allowed to have any jobs in this country at all.

2) If an American citizen wants to set a certain job as a goal, that is his/her business.

3) Illegals steal jobs in construction and other jobs that were high paying prior to the economic meltdown that is taking place.

4) Illegals steal identities when enable them to expand the harm they inflict upon this country.

5) Deprive them of that "right"?? They do NOT have the right to be in this country period.

6) MILLIONS of American citizens are unable to find jobs. There are MILLIONS of illegal alien invaders holding jobs that should be going to American citizens.

7) There are never going to be enough high paying jobs for Americans who want them. Many Americans have to rely on low paying jobs just to keep a roof over their heads. What gives these illegal alien invaders the right to take that away from American citizens??

Mexican is among the same category as American. It describes nationality, not a race.

Just to clarify since you didn't understand; the increase in the hispanic and mexican food selection was not to cater to local citizens increasing their at-home menus, it was to provide for the taste of the massive influx of illegals that poured into the area. It wasn't that there was more hispanic food, but what it was indicative of.

Nonsense. If the "illegals" didn't take many of these low paying jobs, the jobs would get shipped overseas anyway, so they are definitely the lesser evil. They are the last resort before the jobs are completely lost.

Peace.

What "we" did??? What happened to the natives happened long before people alive today were ever even conceived. What evidence do you have that those alive today are responsible for what people did hundreds of years ago??

Most Mexicans that come into America are the same "race" as Native Americans (which is actually an ethnicity of Asians)

The largest race in Mexico is predominantly "White" .. they are Meszito (White/Native mix, of Iberian decent .. meaning Spanish) They represent some 60+% of Mexico's population, and almost all of it's middle class .. there is heavy racism in Mexico against he "indigenous" people, or Natives. There are also other ethnic "Hispanic-White and Hispanic-Black" races in Mexico .. for instance when you fill out government docs Hispanic is not a race .. it's either "Hispanic non-white" meaning black or native or if you identify with native if you're mestizo, or "Hispanic White" meaning Mestizo or white from Latin origins.

So it's not really fair to call someone a "racist" for hating Mexicans and Central Americans, but having 0 issues with Peruvians, Chileans, Native American, puerto rico etc ... because, they are for the most part the same "race" .. that same off branch of Asian.

How would you ship construction jobs overseas???

How do you ship a restaurant job overseas??

Lesser evil??? Either way there's an American family in the streets because Mexicans invaded the country and were hired in their place. If the American isn't going to benefit from the job, what difference does it make?? The jobs are lost to those who should have them either way.

There is no peace.
