No. This was not a hoax, it was a false alarm. There was no intention to mislead people. I think all the excitement is our own fault, nothing to do with the story.

oh, but that Judy genius already relayed to us that she detected that only part of signal is modulated, and the rest is "binary code"! Never mind this is gibberish (in part because you'll need to modulate to transmit binary data), don't you think it's a remarkable speed of the analysis of alien data?

I have to assume that she means that there is a mass of signals 1% (she calls modulated) are what we would call an analog signals and the rest are what we would call digital signals.

Someone might have hacked in and got her account back online. Deleted her CV and got rid of loads of friends. That's all very WEIRD. Unless her CV goes missing from her other sites as well let's not be too quick to think she really is back

I checked both my links and they open for me just fine.

Go to FB home page and input her name , try that

I guess you must first be a member of Facebook, to get the link to work. Because the 'page not found' also has a 'sign up' function.

The email she sent Wayne was totally impersonal after all his worry and stressing . Someone pointed out the quotations sound more like something a man would say and it is weird how 500 on her list now deleted according to Wayne and her CV not on there at all now whereas before she mentioned all her apparant quals/experience....

I would think the most likely reason her FB page is changed is due to all the people currently delving into her background, contacting her place of work etc. I suspect she decided to be a bit more private!

It is a hoak IMHO, simply becaus the "soruce" is not credible. Not a NASA employee, not a Scientist with the information they are giving. I've sen this crap before but in the Marital arts community. If I was a govt official and I wanted to conceal the truth, I would do exactly that. Fake the page.
The best thing someone who makes a discovery of this magnitude can do to not get physically harmed is to make their discoveries as public as possible. Public disclosure and public announcement is the ONLY thing that will keep your invention in the lime light and keep you out of the morgue.
The more people that know the better. This should have been yelled out across the internet a lot more.

I would continue trying to find her.
Forget facebook and online accounts. Find her on the phone. Call the Lofar observatory and get her on the phone. But even then, if she is scared for her life or if they have threatened her, there is no way of knowing.

Discrediting this story off the bat and calling it a hoax is silly. If I was a shadow govt, this is exactly what I would want you to believe.
