OK, thanks for the update, send this junk to the hoax bin please mods..... no offense to the OP, because she was only relaying the message, but that's the way this thread should go, as not to harm SETI's future progess. Not to worry though, because SETI will find messages one day, might be 10-20 yrs from now, but if you're under 60, then we can be patient and wait for it....

I second the motion to relegate to HOAX bin.

My hat goes off to cosmicpixie for all that she endured with this, and I hope that it does not cause her to do anything differently in the future, as she did exactly what she should have done. I applaud her for sticking with it to this, what I think should be the end?

Before everyone decides for sure it IS all a hoax some odd things are leading some to wonder if Judy's FB account has been hacked.

1. She used to have her full CV on there, stating all her qualifications and work links. now it's gone, no CV at all yet not gone from her other websites. If she wanted to deflect attention from a fake CV she would delete all the CV's she's written on all her sites, not just one?

2. She used to have about 800 friends that included many academics. People who were FB mates with her have confirmed this and now about 500 of her friends have been deleted.

3. She was in contact with Wayne alot before all this happened as he has been collaberating with her for some research. Surely she would have seen his page with all the worry for her welfare yet the tone of the email was very impersonal and did not include one sorry - I know most of us would apologize for any undue concern we may have caused

Just before her FB page went down Wayne at the time was reporting it was being targetted by porn/some virus and others confirmed this when they went on there. Not long after that the page went down. The porn returned today right after the page was back online, only to finally vanish again...!

She has no send-Judy-a-Message button now either

Wayne Herschel- No employment stats now... 500 of her friends are deleted... only general friends listed??? Im tired of it for now to be quite honest and wont go any further on this unless her friends say... she is still missing.

Kathy Viterise -Were those her favorite quotations before? Sounds like a man chose them. I dont know her, but this, and her email does not sound like the response someone would give after all that has been posted about her, and in concern for her...to me it feels very odd. She barely acknowledges what has just occured and how worried folks were. Very odd I say!!


Kathy Viterise-Being women, we usually do apologize all over ourselves if we have made a mistake, or even worse worried others at our expense. Seriously, after all this, she did not write these things. Women ring a different tone in such matters...I still feel concern.


Wayne Herschel- I dont get this too... the porn that was added to her page shortly before it went down was removed, and it is back exactly how it was with the same guy apologising for the virus??????

Mex Pex- If someone hacked her account and did all this what would be the problem for her to tell us so? Is plausible and can happen to anyone of us...
What looks weird to me is that she did not say anything technical like it would have been normal... to try to explain what the error or the misleading fact was.

-Wayne Herschel- It was up like that for ages showing her CV .. she was proud of it... now the prn just got removed too. She is a real person and has a south African record that some friends know well.

I have asked on her wall for a reasonable statement and i am still waiting.

Nobody NEEDS to buy my book because the basic findings are on line FREE on my websites!!!

What I am after is proving these three stars in question match the ancient star maps and SETI target them for signals... the quest goes on.... See More

So it's still a little weird. And even if it IS her making this statement of the signal not being what they thought, it doesn't make the matter a hoax - it could be a genuine mistake . If it was really her she would start answering comments on her FB page I would expect......nothing as yet, just silence

I would add that it might be premature to bin this thread until there is more confirmation from Judy given the weird activity on her FB page and no comms coming from friends to Wayne assuring him she is ok - loads know he has been very worried but as yet no word from them to confirm she is fine . Accounts can be hacked .

Wayne has now deleted all 3 very active threads that discussed things from the past 2 days ! I guess he must be sick of it. So there is now nothing to reference from his page from this saga , but it's all here on the thread spread across many pages.

The only thread relevant to the subject is today's about her FB page going back online and then all the comments from people about that

Yup. Take a good rest. If within 24 hours there is no word from her to a next of kin in person, recommend her close friends on FB to make a missing person report. Just to play safe if you or Wayne care. I can't because I am not living in Germany or S. Africa. I don't even know her well and the cops will only kick me out of the station.

If nothing is still heard of her after police intervention, this goes to the press and everywhere else with whatever information we have here. There are educated people around the world and not everyone is a sheep. TPTB may presume they hold the 'kings', but the common people DO have aces on hand to play the game. The human life is precious.

Oh. We've got a honeypot system outside our firewall that we can do basically anything with, since we erase and reload it every so often. It's there to give people trying to get past the firewall something to attack, so we can see if it's something systematic instead of just the usual kiddie crap. I use it to go to websites I'm not familiar with in case they try to load me up with something extra.

It wasn't doing anything much, so I loaded SETI@home on it, it's one of our standard workstations so it's pretty capable. Apparently since the thread started, we've processed 657 credits worth of astronomical data.

We used to let our lab servers run SAH and FAH back when, but now our Evil Overseers look unkindly on it, as it might be a Commie plot. Nothing behind the firewall shall run shared software, sim salabim.

The best thing someone who makes a discovery of this magnitude can do to not get physically harmed is to make their discoveries as public as possible. Public disclosure and public announcement is the ONLY thing that will keep your invention in the lime light and keep you out of the morgue.
The more people that know the better. This should have been yelled out across the internet a lot more.

I would continue trying to find her.
Forget facebook and online accounts. Find her on the phone. Call the Lofar observatory and get her on the phone. But even then, if she is scared for her life or if they have threatened her, there is no way of knowing.

Discrediting this story off the bat and calling it a hoax is silly. If I was a shadow govt, this is exactly what I would want you to believe.

I agree with cosmic.
Judy is a lesbian. The "hey boys" comment and the deletion of 500 friends seems questionable.
All her other sites are not back up, just facebook.

It is too premature to go into the hoax bin because there are still too many unanswered questions.

the difference is that she is an astrophysicist PHD. CONFIRMED by another PHD. Amongst other PHDs. Her credentials are real.

Zipf can tell you if the signal appears to be using grammar (logical rules of construction), and therefore might be communication. But not if the signal is compressed or encrypted, in which case it will, by definition, appear to be white noise and won't indicate anything in a Zipf space.

Any decent cipher or compression scheme will likely prove impenetrable, unless your putative aliens are going out of their way to make it easy to decrypt.

Surely her family would report it if she were missing. Am I right in thinking you would have to have the contact details/ address of someone if you were to report them as missing, so you could verify whether they had truly gone missing? Wayne Herschel didn't know where Judy was living when all this happened. Anyone that has been in contact with her soley through the internet, isn't going to know for sure anything about her.

For anyone who maybe interested, I found this podcast where Judy Faltskog is introduced as the owner of the Extraterrestrial And Abduction Network. She is not listed as a 'Dr'. She does mention she is a phyisicist at some point but doesn't talk about any work relating to this. It's from Febuary this year and she says she's living in Germany.

Her interview (towards the bottom of the page) is about her contact experiences and she talks to a few callers. The interview is long, and not particularly interesting. It's stuff that many of us would find familiar from conspiracy/UFO literature. The main things I noticed were that:

1) The woman in this interview sounds pretty old (or possibly smokes alot?) Much older than a 45 year old IMO. Is it the same person that appears on profile pics?

2) She doesn't mention anything technical (ie physics/ astronomy) at all, apart from a couple of vague references to amateur stargazing when she was young.

3) She mentions that NASA know about Nibiru. - Wouldn't she give more information on NASA's Nibiru coverup if she has worked for them?

I'm not going to judge her on the experiences she relates as I have had my own fair share of strange stuff that I don't have evidence for, personal experience is non verifiable. However saying you are a NASA/SETI scientist should be more easy to verify and why wouldn't she discuss her work in an interview?

a) you present your proper credentials so that people don't doubt that you are a scientist and not a New Age nut

Well, that's really the problem with this one, isn't it? In the end, what she posted was total gibberish, technically. I see a lot of people frantically straining to make it possible (Proto, looking at you! Did you ever find a UV radio telescope? No. Right then).

NO radio astronomer or even any half-decent physicist could make those statements. It's not like you were picking up something and got fooled by a processing error or a signal from a black NSA satellite, or even leakage from the microwave in the break room. I could see that. Whoopsie.

But what she claimed was not...physically...possible. Not with the instruments she claimed were doing the receiving. And the rest of it was hogwash too, the comments about "phasing in and out of harmonics and sub-harmonics!" and the dopey crap about modulation (see some of you are straining at gnats to explain that for her too, it's just crap though).

So not only is she exposed as intentionally perpetrating this, she's also clearly not what she says she is. Case closed. Now she's trying to handwave it all away, sort of like the way she tried to concoct some crap that proves you can receive UV on a radio receiver "because all EM radiates EM". Riiight.
