Well Andreas Kammerer says that is wrong. Can you actually provide a citation as in where this was written? Is this your recollection or is this from a document of some sort?

Excuse me, but put on the thinking cap and realize that this in no way makes a statement about the condition of the camera. Drawing such a conclusion is why this thread is full of people unable to understand the simple issue that the object in the image is Venus.

and to those individuals who said the media and nasa would never fib to us about anything like this ..... what now

I saw a vid showing as venus orbits around the sun its path takes it behind the son correct.

Once again, SOHO is not the same as STEREO.

It is not at all uncommon for data transmissions from the STEREO satellites to be delayed.

I don't believe that ANYTHING has been ruled out at this point. We'll just have to wait and see ultimately. The camera being switched off amidst all this speculation I find curious to say the least.

What's your problem? I have been posting a lot of evidence that shows this to be Venus. On the other hand I see very little coming out from the other side of this discussion such as support for the mass of the NEAT comet.
