Yep, I have always said, what good is being a President if you can't get a decent...well, you know, in the Oval Office. However, at the time Clinton was impeached for perjury, there were 117 people in federal penitentiaries for lying under oath about sex. What good is having perjury laws and imprisoning ordinary citizens for it, if the Chief Executive of the nation, who swore to uphold the laws of this land, feels he is above the law?

Clinton became President in 1993 and was impeached five years later, which would put that in his second term. The march towards Clinton's impeachment began with Janet Reno who appointed independent counsel Kenneth Starr to investigate the Whitewater scandal that had plagued Clinton from the beginning of his Presidency, as well as numerous other allegations of abuse of power. While there were others convicted of fraud for the Whitewater scandal, both Clinton's were never charged with any wrong doing, but his philandering caught up with him, in the form of perjury. Considering Obama is barely in his second year of his first term, the future remains to be seen.

No, most American's don't care about the dalliances of a President, most do, however, care about the law. To be fair, the impeachment of Clinton was no doubt a partisan effort, but that Clinton lied under oath, can not be ignored. Thanks for acknowledging the error though. There does seem to be a partisan effort to revise history and paint Clinton as a President not impeached but "acquitted". It is just semantics intended to distract and convince people he was never impeached, which might be why you unconsciously wrote "nearly", the propaganda is that pervasive.

Obama had to be a citizen, according to your own rendition of "facts."

First of all, Obama could not have lost his citizenship by his mothers actions as he was not old enough to give it up.

Nationality Act of 1940, Section 401:

"A person who is a national of the United States, whether by birth or naturalization, shall lose his nationality by: (a) Obtaining naturalization in a foreign state, either upon his own application or through the naturalization of a parent having legal custody of such person: Provided, however, That nationality not be lost as the result of the naturalization of a parent unless and until the child shall have attained the age of twenty-three years without acquiring permanent residence in the United States:....."

Now that the US law is delt with on the matter, lets look towards the Indonesian laws at the time over the matter:

"Article 2.

(1)A foreign child of less than 5 years age who is adopted by a citizen of the Republic of Indonesia acquires the citizenship of the Republic of Indonesia, if such an adoption is declared legal by the Pengadilan Negeri at the residence of the person adopting the child."

Note the age limit, less than 5 years. The president only arrived at Indonesia at the age of 6! Obama's case for citizenship then moves to the case of every other foreign seeking citizenship, which is atleast 5 years in the Indonesia which in then he had only lived for 4 years.

Even in the event that Obama did stay longer he would still not have been eligible because he was could not surrender his US citizenship as he was too young! And as birthers had so clearly stated, Indonesian law specifically forbids dual citizenship.

Then you may ask how did he attend class if it was only restricted to citizens? Because it wasn't. Indonesian citizens had the right to free education. Although residents and non-citizens did not hold that same right, they were not prohibited from attending schools.

So please go ahead, keep on spewing the same lies and misinformation on matters you so clearly are ignorant over. I will happily correct you again and again.

I think Obama is happy with keeping the focus on the 'birthers' and Sarah Palin. While the nutcases bicker about the existence of santa clause, and listen to a vacuous semi-literate demagogue, health care reform is done, financial reform is almost done, two Supreme Court appointments in 18 mos., major initiatives accomplished on nuclear weapons, economy improving, and on and on is getting accomplished.

Obama knows what he is doing. It's the political version of the rope-a-dope, in my opinion....

As am I. He could end this all if he jsut showed us his birth certificate but instead he shows a differnt documents. A certificate of live birth and tries to pass it off as if it is a birth certificate. (Look on your Birth certificate and note the state seal all your birth info and the doctors signature then look at the certificate of live birth. Totally different. Different Documents all together

His WIFE said in a speech he was from Kenya, His grand mother says he was born in Kenya, He has NEVER released his Birth certificate(A certificate of live forth is not a birth certificate. If they did it would be called a birth certificate for one. 2 He does not have a state seal nor does it have a doctor's signature) The fact that Obama's FIRST order of business when in the white house was to seal ALL his recorders under national security shows he is hiding something.

i am an american born abroad meaning that i am by birth of my american citizen parents born on foriegn soil (canada)and i can not become president of the usa! i can prove my country of birth and i have no problem proving that i am american by birth to american citizens on foriegn soil in canada. I can not become president of the usa and i personally resent obama not proving where he was born! if he doesnt want to divulge where he was born only rasises questions as to why he has to hide his true origin of birth and his real citizenship!he is a lie, a cheat and a thief! i have lived all my life in america and i can't even go 1 mile across the border in michigan to visit relitives now because of gw bush and the new administration thinks that we should follow obama and not question our government about obama or bush.wake up america!the lies get more belivable the more you hear them!

Go Vinveezy! Obama is hiding the truth, and has been fradulent in following through with promises that he said he would immediately fulfill. Noone can prove otherwise. They have no proof, they just throw random insults and lash out in ignorance. Obama supporters have no legs to stand on. Their unfounded loyalty is an embarassment. If you were born abroad from two american citizens you are still considered a natural born citizen, as was the same for John McCains case:

So if you were born in another country to both parents as natural born citizens you are a natural citizen. If the president was born off US soil he would not be a natural born citizen, but thus far he has provided sufficient evidence that he was US born and evidence to the contrary is yet to surface.

You could still become president if both your parents were natural born citizens. This is why John McCain was declared eligible.

If he wasn't a citizen he wouldn't be allowed to be President.

His documents were accepted, his birth records were verified and confirmed by the State of Hawaii and thus if you challenge this official stance then the burden is on YOU. Saying "that's not real, that's not real, that's not real" every time he or someone else presents an image of birth certificate is not evidence of anything but unfounded opinion.

If you are going to claim he was born in Kenya or Indonesia (still going back and forth on this?) and not Hawaii, just prove it already.

This latest attempt is one of the weakest.

A friend of mine from Europe who'd been here in the U.S. since highschool, voted back in Presidential election of 2004 because she mistook her immigration status to mean she was a U.S. citizen, when in reality she was still not done with the process. An honest mistake on her part, but she eventually notified the State and had the issue taken care of, nevertheless...she voted.

Only American citizens are allowed to vote, so I guess anyone that does so must be a U.S. citizen.

By your logic, she was one.

I'm not saying you are even correct on your interpretation of Indonesian law regarding schooling, I don't believe you are because I know Obama is a U.S. citizen, but just keep in mind there is always another explanation and not just the one you desire.
