You might want to look before you leap. This man was racially profiled, held and handcuffed because he was told he did not have enough identification. The problem is
ICE did it. The feds ok? It had nothing to do with Arizona or Arizona law enforcement.
In fact Arizona officials made the comment that had it been one of their officers he or she would have been fired.
Maybe this thread should have been about Obama since he controls ICE.
What do you think?

Where in this country is a license, whether it's a CDL or a regular drivers license, not considered proof of your identity? Arizona, apparently. Perhaps you should read the article. The man had his license and told them his SSN but was still hauled off for not proving his identity until his wife brought his birth certificate. You may be ok with American's being arrested til they show their birth certificates, I on the other hand am not.

Can you please post where in the constitution it says the President is given the power to fire citizens. I would appreciate it. I have searched but am unable to locate it.

Obama asked him to resign and he did. He screwed up beyond all reason and the taxpayers had to save their asses lest even worse things happen.
Damn skippy the man should have been fired. BUT HE WASN'T.

But you don't really care about facts do you? You care about getting the man you hate out of the White House. Just keep flinging poo and hope that eventually something sticks.

What Angus123 does not realize is that "asking someone to resign" at that level is the same thing as firing them.

Angus123 is too full of white guilt, and feels he needs to apologize for Obama's screwups. His sole debating point is to call someone hateful racists.

You are kidding right? Did you even read my post or did you just not understand it. We are talking about the law Arizona just passed and whether or not it might cause racial profiling.
Now the case you posted DOES NOT APPLY. The STATE OF ARIZONA was not involved.
Do you understand that? It was not Arizona but the federal govt. that detained this guy.
It had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the recent law passed in Arizona .
I hope that is clear enough for you.

Just as I figured it doesn't take long for a liberal to start with the name calling does it.
How classy. Did you know it makes you appear more intelligent too.
Look if you are naive enough to believe that being asked by the president to resign isn't being fired that is up to you. Please post where in the constitution the president is given the power to ask citizens to resign from their jobs and completely take over private sector companies.
And by the way the CEO whether he performed good or bad had nothing to do with the taxpayers bailout. Obama made that decision. There were other options. So if you have a problem with the bailout you must blame your man. He made that call.
And please don't give me the old if they hadn't failed he wouldn't have had to. Like I said he had other options but HE CHOSE BAILOUT.

I applaud Arizona and this new law! Apparently the OP isn't familiar with the Tea Party Movement - aside from the liberal MSM tripe.
Hey Skunknuts, ever hear of the BOSTON TEA PARTY? Yeah, it was about TAXES! The modern movement is about taxes and liberty for our CITIZENS - you know, the ones who pay the taxes for your beloved illegal aliens!

Yes, I feel very guilty.

And for the last time, you and your homeroom buddy brought up the race thing. Not me.
Now... run along to Geography class pumpkin.

You can't be serious... you go from where in the constitution does the president get the authority to fire a citizen to where in the constitution does he get the authority to ask them to quit.

Since when does anybody, president or otherwise need a claus in the constitution to ALLOW them to ASK anybody ANYTHING?
If this were a court of law you would be laughed out of the room.

Obama asked him to resign.
He did.
That is not a firing.
He could have refused, and who knows how it would have played out?
But the bottom line is Obama had no legal authority to get rid of him, so he chose diplomacy.

So stop trying to pretend he did something unconstitutional, because you have proven your grasp of even basic civics is shaky at best.

And by the way... it was Bush that made the bailout decisions. Obama was in office when it took effect, but it wasn't his choice.

P.S. I went back and looked at the post again. What name did I call you? Oh that's right, I didn't.
If you can't even get that straight why should anyone take your opinions seriously?
Well that combined with the fact that they make zero sense, lol.

So what you're trying to tell me is that racial profiling only counts as racial profiling if it's a state that does it and not the federal government. I really hate to break it to you, but it's already happening and it's only going to get worse now that this bill has become law.

You said...

"Uhh...you call the illegal firing of a CEO a regulatory measure?

Well, when you're an apologist full of white guilt, as you are, you see anyone that disagrees with your messiah as full of hate. "

Had I realized you were special needs I would have just ignored you.
Well, good luck!

Well, I've spent hours reading this thread and I think I can see everyones point of view. Ironically I received this e-mail while I was reading ATS and thought it might be relevant to this thread. Maybe its true or maybe its not, but I thought it was interesting and humorous too.

You can add to the list of benefits if you cross the border into the U.S.
You get a few ATS apologists to boot!

Thats all fine and dandy but the argument here is not regarding illegals and their 'rights'. The argument regards americans of hispanic and latino backround who will be unfairly targeted and discrimminated from this bill. Police authorities will have the right to stop anybody who looks suspicious and demand their ID. Imagine not being able to go everywhere without some police officer on your back demanding you show him your 'papers' to move freely. THAT is the argument and issue at hand. We are NOT talking about illegals and whether they are wrong to cross the border. NOBODY is arguing that in opposition to this bill on this thread.

Hi Southern Guardian,

I agree, we do not need the SS walking around demanding papers.

What do you suggest?

Obviously deportation does not work for once they are caught by current methods they come right back the next day. I would guess we need to make the consequences of such illegal action more severe in order to curb the influx of people engaging in "border jumping".

Or perhaps force them into slave labor to build a pyramid for Obama - HA! NOT!

Well it would help if the ICE and border patrol had enough funding and manpower to do their jobs and actually stop people from entering illegally while deporting those who already have in a timely manner. I'm assuming they don't since they apparently aren't doing their job Arizona.
