OK. I've got to say it .... this is only catering to the male population on ATS.

What's in it for the women who frequent this site? Why not one chick & one stud? Fair is fair.

As for Ashley D- just watched the vid again in full and It's kinda like- 'shoulders back, tits out'

And whats wrong with that? I like it!

I think it would all be more attractive to let the 2 girls do personal video responses to a number of threads...and embed their video response into the threads themselves instead of a written response.

I see this done on youtube and it adds a very personal touch to people communicating thought through video. I also think that others would eventually join in and add their own personal video responses.

Mabey its the whole 'news' character that seems to set some uncomfortable.

After all...this is to get the video part of ATS more attention right?

Im just throwing thoughts in...not downing the direction its going so far. Its too early to judge really.

I think it would be cool to get our own video responses going and mabey even some goods ones will start to spread to other sites.

Well now- I guess slapping "Texas Hotty" to her name, kind of makes one see her in a different light- as I said difficult to take her seriously once that has been done.

Read some of my previous replies and you will see where I am coming from- They don't NEED those labels to get people to watch this show...

Their intelligence speaks for itself, and it's sad to see the owners reduce them in such a way..

Now we agree completely.
No need whatsoever.
what they do need is a decent media crew.

We have opinions on how ATS is portrayed.

As do I, as do our staff, and everyone else who cares about the site and these topics.

Depressing and overly-serious productions have gained little traction outside of the core fan base of conspiracy-minded people. While we never have any desire to make light of our/your topics, there is a significant need to deliver this material differently.

I am not surprised at the negative responses. Someone ALWAYS has a negative response. This is ATS and it's no reflection on our heroines, Asala and Ashley, but rather a reflection of the posters, themselves.

Can you imagine if one of your videos had the same sort of "critique" as this one is getting?:

"I don't know, the last video of Skeptic that I saw, I noticed his shirt was kind of tight and he was primping a little and seemed concerned about how he looked and I think I saw him thrust his pelvis toward the camera a time or two. What gives?"

Ridiculous!

1) Enunciate

2) Use foundation.

3) More discrete jewelry.

4) More colorful outfit. I don't mean bright, but there should be some color. Solid black does not go well with the backgrounds being used. Compare your outfit in the first half vs your outfit in the second half. The black outfit tends to make you disappear.

5) Do something about your hair. Consider putting it up.

6) Don't wiggle your shoulders when you speak.

7) You have a british accent. Play up to it. Most americans subconsciously associate accents with class. Don't aim for sexy, and don't aim for casual. Aim for refined. Or alternately, if you feel comfortable in the role, you might be able to pull off "overconfidant, judgemental bitch" in a way that people might like. Think Simon Cowell on american idol. He's mean, but highly entertaining because of it. Or, if that's not something you can do, again...simply aim for "refined." Think to yourself, "I am elegant and charming, and everyone admires me."

WHAT!?

Oh My Gawd!

Your posts regarding this are hilarious! ROFLMAO!

Amateur Fashionistas Beware! The Real Style and Fashion Gestapo has arrived!

*Sarcasm on*

Yeah ASALA! Do something about your hair and don't wiggle your shoulders when you speak!

*sarcasm off*

Forget about it! both your hair and shoulders are looking just fine to me!

Please girls! never stop being your 'natural beautiful selves' for crying out loud!

Never hide anything of your unique special personalities - just be yourselves - please!

You don't need any advices from pseudo stylists on the NET! - you are fine as you are!

This ain't the American Idol for Christ sake! - don't be plastic!

Just think to yourselves: One British Lion and One Texas Tiger who fear none!

Perhaps if we found some angry, slobbering, less-attractive middle-aged man who screams at the camera and carries a bullhorn in public, the nay-sayers would be happy... dunno. Maybe a former pro-wrestler in black-leather surrounded by a group of actors from central casting... yeah, that's it.

With all do respect- that's not what it's about and I think you know that...

How about just admitting that you guys are starting to use the same tactics that mass media use, that all of us on this site have been fighting against?

I really thought ATS was different, seems the way it's going now- it's just blending in with the rest of the world, and further away from what this site originally stood for.

The show could be great- with these girls presenting it... I just think some things are really unnecessary sales tactics.

What was different about this video? I don't see different, trendy, humor. I don't see anything alternative or attention grabbing about it. You have an opportunity here. You need a great concept. I suggest a pow wow.

Can we give the ladies and the producers a chance before we flail them?

Does everything have to be nitpicked to death before it even gets stated?

Show a little faith ...

There are few more intelligent and photogenic members on ATS than asala and ashley and I know they will find their feet and will be amazing.

I for one can't wait.

This is just my opinion, not that it really matters.

I am a man's man, always have been and always will, I would love to stare at several cute young woman all the time; but this is not why I come to ATS. Having two "chicks" on my media output reminds me too much of the MsM, "don't pay attention to the man behind the curtain, just the chest of these two girls".

Now I think that Asala and AshleyD have talent and will do this justice, but for the fact that they are called "conspiracy chicks" means it was designed for nothing more than fan service. Now yes I know that it is personal choice to watch these videos and one can just stick to the boards, and I did avoid watching the Johnny Anonymous videos because it was just recap of board topics, but the problem becomes the types of people it brings to this forum.

I am sick of hearing little whining brats who troll around my source of internet truth, and I cant imagine what it will become once we get a couple hotty tottys around here to draw in the deranged, depraved, adolescent, ignorant, and overall useless members.

Will this destroy ATS? Not by a long shot, but it may very well run off other members I enjoy who prefer a more mature, respectful, and thought provoking environment. Now I understand that the Conspiracy Chicks will sell more space, make more money, and overall improve the people who own this site, so that is why I am not going to put that much into this.

Heres my words, do with them as you will.

I miss the podcast ATS mix with Johnny Anonymous and Dave Rabbit. That is how I found Above TopSecret back in 2007. Is Dave Rabbit still around?

Right on!!! The packaging is lighthearted and humorous and that does nothing to discredit the content of this sight. My first response to the "Conspiracy Chicks" was WTF? but then I realized I was taking things too seriously. Congrats on taking a risk with this and interjecting some good old fashioned fun into the mix.

Hey Guys! Thanks for all the feedback, both good and bad. Keep in mind that is just the teaser. And, yeah- the show is meant to be more fun than it is supposed to be uber professional and serious. That gets really old, really fast and I think there are enough stuffy news shows to the point something a bit more laid back and fun would be a breath of fresh air.

Looking forward to the actual first airing. Remember, it's not about *US*, it's about *YOU*. Your work will be highlighted in the shows. And this isn't straight up stuffy news. It's more of a friendly let's all work TOGETHER and talk about issues the MSM won't and in a way the MSM won't.

You guys have fun. And for the record, Asala makes me feel inadequate with her exotic accent and soft voice.
It's stunning. I have to make a conscious effort to avoid a southern drawl and showing my lisp by forcing my tongue to not touch my front teeth.
We'll definitely try to slow it down a bit. We're both speed talkers in real life and our excitement with the show probably speeds it up even more.

Thanks for all the feedback.

OK, I'm already tired of looking at them looking at me.

If their pics have to be up, can we just have them on the home page?

Plus, if you want to make the website better, choose another color other than yellow for the key words in articles so I can read them without having to put my laptop right in front of my face.

I remember a day when men at ATS were impressed with the intelligence of the women here. In fact shocked might be more apt.
Portray that.
Perhaps let these smart women decide what they want to say? Give them some creative license?

Well! you had Johnny for a long time - wasn't that good enough for ya?

And you have that soothing sexy voice of Nef on the ATS radio right now!

Some ATS ladies are apparently never satified!

I agree 100% and think you pretty much spelled it out in a way many of us couldn't.

Exactly my point. This is my main concern- other than that I really couldn't care less.

Perhaps that is as can be expected. The core value framework of ATS content may well be fundamentally incompatible with attempts at broader market recasting. That is, conspiracy theories and 'esoteric knowledge' subjects are constructed on a framework that depends on a dichotomy between the mindset of the "core fan base" and the wider outside market. Attempts to introduce wider market appeal usually introduce elements that validate orthodoxy, rather than contradict it. This is often seen by the core as undermining the validity of the content.

Best of luck to Ashley and Asala; I'm looking forward to hearing the show!
