Agreed.. if there is one thing ive learned in 4 years at ATS is that people don't like to read. People might read the title, they might read two sentences of the OP and post their opinion. The media aspect of it, if done correctly and with enough professionalism, could really grab the much larger percentage of the population= the one that doesn't read

I fully agree with you there, Sir. I have tried to be very clear in sharing my "respect" for these two vets of ATS.

A&A have always treated me with respect and have always delivered good material in the form of original threads and posts in many other threads. Neither of them are dumb.

In fact, they are as bright as they come around here and "on the ball" when it comes to the subjects we all deal with within the conspiracy genre.

I really hope it doesn't come off like I am being rude to them, you, or anyone who helps run/create ATS. I simply feel VERY strongly about this sort of thing.

We can all meet and disagree in the middle of any road...I am fine with that and will even tip my hat when the other side "scores a hit". I do not support abusive attacks on "the hottie" or "the cutie".

And I hope you get what I am laying down. I would hate to be wasting my time putting my thoughts on this to words.

I also would hate to see anyone assuming that I was trying to hurt anyone's feelings.

Yes we men would all love to meet women like Ashley and Julie in real life, but let me tell you, it's not going to happen, these are truly unique women. The chances of meeting and getting involved with women like Ashley and Julie even as friends in real life are quite rare.

Beauty, brains, humor? You aren't going to meet these kinds of women in real life. Frankly we are blessed with such a monopoly that exist on ATS!

They certainly in my mind aren't simply Chicks, Babes, Cuties, Hotties. They like most of the women have on ATS have earned more respect. They are deserving of more respect than such derogatory names imply. It's my opinion.

As far me, a "hottie" and a "cutie" should be just as welcome to host a show as a prude.

OK, so if, heaven forbid, one of these ladies were in a traffic accident and horribly disfigured, would their spot as a 'hot chick' be held for them in this forum? It all just seems so shallow to me.

Seagull: As I stated, if I'm looking for a 'visual' there are sites well dedicated to that type of thing. I'll stick to the avatars, thanks.

I think the blonde girl is shaking her shoulders too much. She doesnt look as natural as the red head. Maybe, with time, she will get more comfortable infront of the camera, cause she looks a bit...I dont want to use the word fake...she´s just not looking very natural. Her facial expression and her shaking her shoulders, for some reason, reminds me of a shampoo comercial.

Other than that, I hope it´s a success and wish good luck to ATS management and to the Conspiracy Chicks!

Nice idea, perfect people to use as well. I'll be looking forward to watching it; looking forward to the complete site revamp too.

I agree, apart from the guy who was incredibly insulting beyond belief, this has been a respectful and reasoned debate and discussion.

Why anyone would suggest other is quite extraordinary.

And I know no-one has questioned either Asala or Ashley's abilty and qualifications to pull this off and the debate is more about the presentation and marketing styles.

All I'm saying is we've had 14pages of this now and we are going over and over the same ground repeatedly.

I think most points of view have been raised and we've all had our say....let's now sit back and see what they come up with.
Some of us maybe disappointed but hopefully they'll get the balance right and we'll all be happy.

But it goes to show how strongly members feel about ATS and how we all want it to continue growing whilst maintaining it's integrity....something it has failed to do at times in the past....let's hope past mistakes will not be repeated and lessons learnt.

I leave for a couple of days and almost miss out on this.

Isn't this considered some type of ATS T&C violation for referring to Ashley and Asala as "hottie, cutie and chicks"?

They obviously deserve more respect than that.

...but even that description is incomplete and still doesn't quite reflect on their professionalism.

And It's an opinion that many of us share on here.
The two members who are doing the show are excellent members and I'm sure the show will be a huge success, but the way it's been presented and the nicknames that have been given to A&A are just completely against everything that ATS should be about.

I think this show could still be funny, Irreverent and tongue in cheek without having Hotties or Cuties...

Why not go the whole hog and call them the "Conspiracy Babes"

I think ATS needs to tweak a couple of things and then they'll have a show that people will watch, find funny and respect.

Wow, common .. derogatory? Calling a woman an ugly hag is derogatory.. telling a woman she's hot.. something tells me ... MOST .. woman don't take issue with such flattery! It's not like ATS has them wearing skimpy clothing with the camera angled at their cleavage and forcing them to use a provocative voice while delivering the news!

Honestly.. if they had to pick any two women to be on the show, it would be Ashley and Julie.. in fact.. the fact that they ARE both hotties is an afterthought.. a wonderful coincidence. regardless of their looks, they are the best two for the jobs. And you, wuky, making issues about them being "called" hot .. well, you do them a disservice. We should be supporting them, not criticizing their promo nick names.

I don't think Skeptic and the other admins sifted through to find the most attractive female members to do the show.

Please show where he has been insulting and rude... The only genuinely rude comment was about asala's accent...other than that- I have not seen any personally rude comments in this discussion and I have been following it since the very beginning.

In future, maybe you should refrain from sending out u2u's for people to join a discussion- if you don't want to hear both sides. You might as well just make the changes and not ask us for our opinion... because obviously, you couldn't care less about it.

And seeing that you have not replied to any of my posts to you that I have aired to you with valid concern- which imo you should consider seeing I care a lot about this site- I take it you don't hold value in my concern for this site.

I've always enjoyed AshleyD's posts, I don't remember reading much of Asala's posts though, but perhaps Ashely stood out more because of her Avatar which I always liked. Perhaps she mods a section I don't frequent alot like ATS Skunks.

I think some people on here dont get enough time with the opposite sex if they are moaning.

If A&A are cool with it, i'm cool with it.

I find a few things funny about this thread about these two chicks (yes...I will be calling females on ATS chicks now...since I guess that is the "cool" thing to do).

1) For those that say that this show is about the chicks "intelligence" and not them being sold as eye candy...well then I guess you also think that Hooters just has really good food, Playboy has great articles, and porn is popular because the chicks are such good actresses...right?

2) The one chick is hard to understand...I'm not going to bash her...but if you deny that she is hard to understand...then you are just trying to protect her. But this chick wasn't picked because of her speaking skills...right? She wasn't even picked for her intelligence. This chick is a "cutie" who may get some non-conspiracy men to watch (probably with the volume down in a dark room with thier pants off)....but hey...ATS will still get the click count for their advertisements.

3) And I find it funny this website layout was pretty much stolen as shown earlier...by a site that will ban members for plagarisam because they forgot to link to a source.

4) If ATS wants to put these two chicks out there as sex objects to be judged...the site owner shouldn't come here and finger wag when people JUDGE THEM. And they will be judged on their "sexiness" or "hotness"...because that is the label YOU put on them.



It's sad really...these two will now always be "chicks" in my mind...like it or not...I will have a lower opinion of them now just because they seemed to accept the labels so freely. All actions have consequences...and for me the action is that these two have sold themselves as sex objects...the consequence will be that they are taken less seriously by some people.

A long time ago, I remember a thread about the media and it distracting us with sexuality...now, how can we be sure that this is not the same thing? LOL! Just saying...
