I will definately tune in if I find the time.

Always wondered why there wasn't some kind of podcast/radio feature.

Probably, yes, although its likely to be a huge file - somewhere in the region of 80-90MB when compressed as MP3 at the stream rate, although I'll do my best to get the file size lower.

Very nice to see something like this coming up. I'll try and tune in tomorrow, hopefully there will be some good topics discussed. A few questions though, if anyone knows the answers:

1) as someone said earlier, will there be a line to call in?

2) does anyone know the amount of bandwith used for something like this? I'm on satellite and am given so much per day, if I go over they cut me off for 24 hours.

How to ring into the show

Get hold of a copy of Skype

Add the following name as a contact : ATS Live Studio

When we ask for callers please send a message to the show contact via the text window - do not attempt to ring the show

When its time to bring you to air, we'll let you know via the text process. Please note that things may get a little busy and we may not be able to bring everyone on to the show.

When you come into the show please don't speak until the host says your name.

If you come to air please try and keep all background noise to a minimum.

The ATS Terms and Conditions (click here) apply at all times.

The radio show presenters will not discuss moderator actions taken by ATS staff.

Any attempt to discuss such actions will result in your call being terminated immediately

The stream runs at 64kbps. The total file load is - as I said above - about 80-90MB for a three hour show.

Not a huge load - 0.08GB. Shouldn't tax your connection too much.

Alright OP and setup of this thingy.

Some of us do not have Skype, I just created an account and added Skype.

Maybe someone should do a breakdown EXACTLY what needs to be done to become a part of this. Some of us are not all up to date on all the different communication systems out there.

Deny Ignorance so to speak.

List exactly what you need to do and the steps on how to do it.

Is that separate from ATS?

I have added ATS Live Studio as a contact.

Maybe a quick breakdown on the use of skype.

You only need Skype if you plan on calling in. If you do not plan on calling in, you just listen on the ATS Live! site

You do not become a member. You jusit hit the PLAY button on the player


Skype is just like any chat service, such as Yahoo, MSN, etc. How to use Skype

Ok so I downloaded Skype and added the contact name. I can probably figure out everything else on the fly. I'm just wondering if this is a similar thing to Ventrillo - I've used that before but not Skype.

NOTE:

You only need SKYPE if you plan on calling in.
If you plan on just listening, you just need to hit play on the player.
