Translation:Who cares if what they say is true or not, they get good ratings.

Yeah, that makes sense. The national enquirer has done quite well for itself so Elvis must still be alive.

Why bring up ratings ? It doesn't prove Fox is objective or trustworthy. Popularity is hardly a good yardstick of quality. They are more popular than ever now, because the GOP is in the political minority, and we have a half black former community organizer in office, which pushes many peoples' buttons.

Numerous studies have shown the Fox News audience is among the least informed in society. Watching it for anything but entertainment "shock value" is dangerous to your mind.

I'm all for conservative viewpoints in media. But Look at how Fox # all over Ron Paul in the primaries. True conservatism has been on the decline since Goldwater was defeated. The GOP is Democrat-lite.

Sad.

Didn't this happen in Florida ? Can you provide more details ?

I forget the state. It is delved into pretty well in the book "Outfoxed" as well as the movie. I googled Fox and Lies and got more than I could post. Adding "win, court, right to" helps as well. I would link to the book if it were public domain but most libraries should have it by now. In the meantime, it is covered a bit in this lovely video highlighting some of Fox's other obviously BS tactics.

This happened when Charlie Crist and some Democrat were debating... they let charlie talk and RIGHT when this dude was gonna attack him, "BREAKING NOOBS"... yeh right. It was about something like a kid in NY had a hangnail... or something as silly.

I enjoy watching both Fox News and CNN and BBC World. I can clearly see the 'BS' on all channels. So you gotta just be careful about what they say.. When its a clearly 'leaning' topic, I hit the 'other channel' feature which is another news channel.

Say NO to BS. Anytime. anywhere.

I kind of have to wonder about the people on ATS. If you were to take all of the folks that support Fox here and cross reference that with all the people that fear/hate the NWO type practices of companies like Monsanto, what the result would be. It seems like most of them think that following Glenn Beck is going to show them the way to fight or resist the NWO when he is paid by Monsanto shills. Just a thought.

Just so you know, Obama serves the same people FoxNews serves. Just wanted to throw that out there for everyone crying about this.

I am just surprised at the vast number of Obama-maniacs and other various moonbat factions that watch Fox News. Does anyone know if they are being paid by Soros or one of the other Socialist wealth brokers to do this? Seems it'd be tortuous for them to so for any extended period of time without compensation of some sort.

lol

I watch Fox News because they call themselves a NEWS agency and I like to keep up with NEWS.

Shame on me for giving them a chance.

Seriously.

Sometimes, if you're lucky, you'll be browsing fox sorting through articles of real news and opinion, and find a news story that's so unbelievably stupid that you just can't help but to laugh.

--Fox Caught Passing Off Parody News Story as Real News:
www.indecisionforever.com...

And yes, I linked Comedy Central, because it's freakin' funny. Fox News's Fox Nation reported on a global warming activist who froze to death. Too bad the activist doesn't exist and the story came from an Onion-style parody site...

The original page has been taken down by Fox News (can't really blame them there) www.thefoxnation.com...

Priceless.

Oh are you gonna get flamed for that. I've asked the same question, ala where was the respect for President Bush while he was in office, and was told he wasn't deserving of any. Since Obama is continuing alot of his policies, why would it change? Star for you my friend.

Why bring up ratings?? Really? Ratings make or break these networks. Ratings determine advertising rates etc etc. Last I checked we're not talking about PBS and NPR. Guess what? ratings still matter to those outlets as well.

It is all about Market Share. Fox is getting the lion's share because viewers became frustrated with the bias in the other outlets during the campaigns and throughout Obama's first year of lies and dashed hopes in the WH.

Do not play the race card either. It does not belong in this thread and is a weak, unsubstantiated, default and provocative argument.

Double check your language next time you type. *SNIP* talk is usually frowned upon and the mods will generally nab it.

Please cite your numerous studies supporting your claim of uninformed Fox viewers. I wouldn't count on Media Matters and Huffington as reliable sources though.

Why do I even bother with you people? This is nothing but a giant pissing match anyway. It is all a matter of opinion. Which is all the news networks are essentially nowadays. 24/7 gotta fill the airtime with something.

Man, theres some immature people on this site, why are you all attacking the OP. I mean I don't think it was a fake news story or anything, but no reason to attack him and get all childish making stupid irrelevant comments like "Didn't hendrix choke on his own vomit".

Peace

I agree with you 100%, who cares about the real issues when we can watch him make his basketball picks for March Madness.

I for one am tired of seeing Obama on the news, and hearing Obama on the news. It's every freaking day. And if its not Obama, its about "right wingers are doing this, left wingers are doing that"

Its so polarized nothing productive happens, its just one side saying the other side is worse. What happened to being better?

I can see the brain cells pop every time the democrats complain about those tea partyers and vice versa. They literally jump off their skulls and pop in bright flashes.

I never have to have a reason to break away from Obama. He's on TV every day, all day long, 24-7-365. All I do is grab the remote and surf the channels. Fox is wise to this and does it for me, so I don't have to get the remote.
