No.

Fox is wrong. I'd like to see a law passed forcing Fox News to display a disclaimer about it being for "entertainment purposes only".

This was yesterdays breaking news segment on America Live w/ Megyn Kelly. I Honestly don't remember what she was talking about before it, since the story was padded out for a good five minutes. All I know is i'm sure it was far more interesting than this story.

Two rescued from stalled fairground ride
Fox News video

Fox is all about ratings, Didn't Rogers Ales say Fox is all about the ratings or something along the lines of that? And stupid stories like planes (possibly) crashing or carnival rides with people stuck on them get ratings.

A good chunk of 'breaking news' on any network is a joke and shouldn't be worth the time it's given. When they do it just watch something else. Every time I see 'breaking news' that isn't really news I think of that JibJab song "This is what we call the news".

I'd like to see a law passed forcing every cable news show displaying a disclaimer about how it's propaganda and can potentially warp the world view of those who watch it and are incapable of thinking, researching and debating issues themselves.

It is more than wrong. It should be illegal. It's just too bad that there are people who, to put it politely, choose to look past the journalistic wrong-doings just because it simply sounds better on the ears.

I would go as far as to say Fox News is everything that's wrong with this country wrapped up in a nice box.

It's evil. And certainly for Entertainment purposes only.

problem is, people bring up facts and talking points that Fox reports. Which deep inside we all know are horrible, horrible lies, contradictions, and false reports.

As I have tried to point out before, this has actually already gone to court. A few of their "reporters" refused to report on false stories and were fired. They sued. The result of the case was that Fox can call themselves a "news" organization and still report fake stories under the protection of entertainment - no disclaimer needed. It is really kind of sad that this actually went down but even the most loyal Fox viewers know nothing about it.

Been to court and won the right to not have to add that disclaimer.

Sad.

I would fully support bringing back the fairness doctrine.

Although it can't stop Fox News, since its paid content.

This has got to be one of the funniest fox bashing threads I have seen in a long time. Did media matters launch a new batch of interns today??

Keep on spewing while I watch Fox's ratings continue to skyrocket amongst its competitors. Yes. the people are growing tired of all of Obama's news channels. Even some of these networks are finally starting to run stories that don't favor him. I guess ratings do matter in the world of profit based network TV.

Turn off your TV's and turn on NPR. Save yourself the worries.

Believe it or not, i'm not an Intern employed by MSNBC. Simply an American with a brain.

It's truly fun reading your responses, I certainly hope you continue to make no sense whatsoever.

Why would I add you to the ignore list? You're far too.. entertaining. Just like some of my republican friends

Also, I apologize for not posting much. You see, I have this job, and pay these taxes and stuff.

Jobs are for losers and books are for dummies

actually the fun thing about ATS is that people live in different time zones and work all kinds of odd hours. Some, like me, get paid to post on ATS
while I eat Cheetos and drink beer all day.

Haha. Wonderful.

Your certainly in good company. I guarantee at least 2/3 of your Republican friends are doing.. THAT EXACT SAME THING.

I thought Barry and Gibbs didn't like Fox anyway and said some rather mean things about them. Why would they give him any more air time? At the end of the day the people who watch Fox watch Fox, and those that prefer other media watch what they want...if Fox viewers want more Obama they'll ask for it. Seems 'bout right to me.

Sorry, NPR stands for National Public Radio. That should make sense now.

and Media Matters is slightly different from MSNBC. Although MSNBC probably gets its talking points from MM.

Yes, I do all of that from my corner office on the 22 floor of my office building just like my republican friends. How is that 3x3 cubicle treating you? Let me know if you need a new red stapler anytime soon.

And so am I . I may be old but I still have a sense of humor.
No harm no foul. Just a little ribbing on a calm news day.

Hard to believe that you're a Fox News advocate with statements like that.

..And you get paid for your obvious ideological bent to be posted on here eh? Do go on...
