"Alex Jones is demon-possessed"

"Some hours ago (or right now), it occurred to me that some people with mental illnesses, might be mentally ill due to demonic possession, so that though there are genuine mental illnesses due to illogical beliefs, it may also be due to a demonic with a mental illness or causing the illness." -This isn`t funny anymore

Edit to add:
I happen to know some good info from DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) and it`s not nice, to say the least, spreading the word that having avoidant personality disorder, depression or borderline is because you have a demon inside you.

Rightio then...Let me rephrase my apparently ill-mannered previous post...

This person is evidence that fundamental christians are a blight on society...Their idea that everyone who does not subscribe to their point of view is "forever damned to eternity in hell" is disgusting...

Fundamentalists like this are so narrow minded that if we allowed them to have a strong voice in how societies are run, we'd soon be back in biblical times...The lack of societal progress would slowly but surely strangle the human race until we became no more advanced or intelligent than apes...

Mind you, I have nothing against the majority of christians...They believe what they believe and that's fine, even if some of their views are somewhat backward...

Just as long as they don't try and impose their values on the rest of society, which fundamentalists do time and time again...

Where has secularization of society lead to then??? More crime?? More unwed teenage pregnancies.. Sexual deviancy... Anything goes as long as it feels good attitude? The degradation of society.. A loss of a moral compass.. Materialism.. The breakdown of the family unit... All those are closely linked to secularization...

The secular says we are mere animals so society starts acting as such and when the bad stuff happens they have the cheek to blame God and ask where He was in that... However God is a gentleman and does not put His nose in where it is not wanted.... When He takes His hand off the wheel... Its because you asked for it......

However I will admit that this person is waaay over the top and does the rest of us no favours...

I am not sure why you posted this thread. Are you going to post all of the examples of people on the internet that are crazy? Or, just the ones that confirm your beliefs? What is your point with this thread? Perhaps you should just state your point and then use this guy as "evidence" of it... it would come across much more honestly.

Given you're speaking from a believers POV I'll simply agree to disagree rather than debate what you've said, and leave it at that

Would you mind terribly pointing out where in the DSM it mentions demons? Which DSM are you looking at? Very curious.

Let me see, Christian history is a mosaic of genocide, rape, torture, murder, theft. Catholics are being caught diddling little boys every other day. Mormon encampments are raided to save the underage sex slaves...

Damn secularists!!!!

Well look at Islam in Saudi Arabia to see where a religious society can lead. No yours is a false dichotomy. All a secular society states "leave god out of the equation". Atheists are a mixed bunch but I know some who are genuinely humanitarian in their outlook.

Loving god is never automatically equal to being humanitarian.

No. I didn`t mean that. On the contrary, it`s insane saying that demons cause those mental disorders.
I`m sorry I didn`t express myself clearly

Edit to add: I`m not theistic either.

No. Less Crime. No. Less teenage pregnancies. Less abortions. Less STD's. You should probably do some research on the most secular nations compared to the most religious.

Well your logic is quite sound.

Hopefully your religion can stop people feeling good, upgrade society, give out moral compass', take away material wealth, and force families together.

I guess that's just what the guy in the OP is trying to do.

No it doesnt for sure.. But it surely puts the breaks on evil no? America, UK and so on were the epitome of civilized society... Secularization has in 30 years turned western society into decadence and immorality that has torn the heart out of the family and caused our nations to rot....

Saudi Islam is extreme fundamentalism.. We in our history have been wayyy more tolerant and humanistic...

Um, no they weren't secular.

They were built upon ideology.

We call it communism.

They enforced their ideology. Killed dissent. Censored criticism.

I find it hard to distinguish much difference between such states and religious states.

The problem with communism wasn't that it was so anti-religious. Its that they were too much like religion.

Less crime? Less STi's? What planet do you live on dude? Because I want to move there...

I have done my research.. Not by doctored government statistics, but by opening my eyes and seeing whats going on for myself... In my area for instance every other person is on drugs.. Class A drugs at that... Then there is the associated crime that comes with that... Just 30 years ago you could leave your door open around here and be safe at night.. You cant anymore... Those gove stats are damn lies
