Hey You... Yeah, you! The one complaining about the Healthcare Reform Bill...

I feel that this is just what America needed!! It's NICE to see corporate media running stories on states threatening to sue if the bill passes. The fact that soo many states were against this bill and it passed ANYWAY!

It just proves for the average American that the government is NOT listening to us (although most of us here would agree that's been the case for a LONG time).

I also see things behind this that have nothing to do with healthcare, more so with CONTROL..absolute control over the American People. You do things the way they tell you, or you'll PAY (I mean REALLY pay!!).

Of course this could be a mechanism to provoke public outrage, for the purpose of taking more money AND setting the stage for Martial l Law when the protests get violent over this unwanted 'change'.

I do however disagree with name calling of people posting here, while it may have made the OP feel better to vent, it's not constructive.

Actually this is about man helping other man, this is about America being the last super power in the world and people dying sick on the streets. This is about the old man alone who has no one to help or take care of him and cant afford it. This is about what every American with a heart should be worried about.... Wow, I'm sorry for the difficult time you've had. Yes, I think here in the states they would have removed your gallbladder pronto, and had you on a morphine pump.

But, dashar, it's not all it's made out to be. One of the reasons it's so expensive here is because often unneccesary tests and procedures are done. In fact, they are done routinely. The doctors and hospitals go overboard in treatment and diagnosis from fear of lawsuits.

When a hospital learns someone has Medicaid, they go all out with charges, and I think they take advantage of the system by padding their pockets this way, and attempt to recover some of the money they have to spend on completely indigent patients. So, it's become a money game, and it most certainly needs to stop.

I am indeed perplexed as to why people continue to make the assertion that the passage of a health care bill will give more money to the insurance companies. This is not true. In fact, they will be reeled in with some of their self-serving policies, and will be forced to put the patient before their actual exhorbitant annual earnings through having to provide treatment for pre existing conditions, and reducing rates to be more competitive with other companies.

What the insurance companies and hospitals have been able to get away with over the last decades is dispicable. The health care industry, including pharmaceiticals, is one of the most financially profitable industries in our country, earning money off the sick through charging absurdly high fees.

"Progessive" is not a dirty word. It simply means to make progress. Let's hope we do. The new plan will inherently need to be fine-tuned and tweaked I'm sure. Through every step of this, people will be screaming and cursing the government, rather than trying to be patient while the new plan unfolds and finds it's legs.

But that's what we have become. Screamers. Demanding and sadly quite predictable.

I can show you that this isn't dooms day, or the worst day in American history.

And i can show you that everyone who is against this bill is showing their hysterical hypocrisy by stating the reasons they're against it, when you contrast it to policies from the last administration.

They're for government control when it's from Bush
But against it when it's from anyone else.

They're for forms of socialism like Libraries, Police, Fire protection, and roads, but against it when a democrat proposes a similar idea.

Not being American, here's one thing I can't figure out about Americans. Perhaps someone could enlighten me?

I can't figure out why the Patriot Act and it's many revisions have passed with so little effort and the only protests I've witnessed have been little more than some conspiratorial rants on public boards.

So why is there such a fear of socialized medicine in your country? Constitutionalists showing up to anti health care rallies armed. It's not like you are not already spending money on ridiculous chite. The people who can't afford medical procedures might as well have something to show for it, but perhaps they would like nuclear missiles, stealth bombers, DUMBS and no constitutional rights instead?
