I disagree. Denying Ignorance does not equate to believing any old crap you read on the internet because you wish it were true.

Critical thinking is only unpopular with those who are incapable of it.

Interesting but not the smoking gun the thread title suggests.

It is very possible that no piece of DNA could ever 100% be classified as "not of Earthly origin". There are simply to many lifeforms from our own planet both alive and extinct that have not had their DNA recorded to go "aha! this piece of code is from Alpha Centurai!".

So in the meantime test results will still come back as
but you can bet that donations will always be eagerly sought.

They are becoming like this because I, and many others, don't want to poison the children of tomorrow with more BS attitudes based on nothing more than a fear of daddy complex.

Wake up, get up or do whatever it is is you need to do to stop being down there.

If and when genuine UFO or alien footage occurs you will not be able to stop the flood of interest in it that will arise.

Fact.

Just look at how long it took the kooks to actually deal with a genuine phenomenon like the Norway spiral - highly documented and free from scared imaginative kids!!

Fake. What person on earth would ask for money after a find of this magnitude? Would you? Hardly. And if you answered to anything but that you're trying to fool the reader just like this news is trying to.

Whenever donations are asked for it severely discredits the story.

"Hey I just solved all of mankind's troubles, but expenses have made it impossible for me to continue until I receive some financial assistance." If the research was accurate he'd have all the financial assistance he'd need, and plenty, plenty, more.

This Starchild Skull and Lloyd Pye have been discussed so many times on ATS it should have a sticky until any genuine 'new' evidence arises that suggests it isn't the human abnormailty.

These are a few questions we can look at in the hopes of achieving an indication as to what the SC skull really is. If the man has concealed evidence and has an incentive to continue to do so; we can infer that he's dishonest. If he's dishonest, then rational, terrestrial explanations for the skull would be more likely to be accurate. Is that a reasonable stance?

The sample taken from the Starchild Skull (SCS-1) has mtDNA consistent with Native American haplogroup C, as revealed through two independent extractions performed on fragments of parietal bone. While a single first extraction did not appear to type similarly, this inconsistent result is likely a product of a low level of contamination.

DNA analysis report from Starchild Project Report

The human mother is definitely a native American. What about the father? We can't ask the lab ''Trace Genetics' because they have possibly gone out of business. The only report that references them is Pye's, but that isn't to imply it's a hoax report. They could have legitimately gone bust.

Nuclear DNA is difficult to extract from old bones and even more so if the remains had been subject to the environment e.g soil acidity, erosion etc. These factors aren't made clear by Pye. Instead he uses the absence of such evidence to lead the reader. It's fairly well worded, but the affect on the average reader's interpretation would encourage doubts of human parentage...

Attempts to recover DNA from the skull easily produced its mitochondrial DNA, which proved its mother was fully human. However, no nuclear DNA could be recovered using human-only primers, which strongly indicates that the skull's father was something other than a typical human.

Starchild Project (Overview)

DNA sample was taken from the skull, and was subjected to DNA probes designed to detect sequences of DNA that are unique to humans (performed by Dr. David Sweet, Director of the Bureau of Legal Dentistry at the University of British Columbia)5. The Starchild skull DNA was found to contain both an X and a Y chromosome. This is conclusive evidence that the child was not only human (and male), but both of his parents must have been human as well, for each must have contributed one of the human sex chromosomes.

Skeptic Blog

DNA tests were conducted on the teeth as they contain the strongest chances of recovering DNA markers. The site doesn't offer a source for the 'Y-Chromosome' claim, however Dr David Sweet does exist. He is associated with criminal investigation where DNA and forensic analysis is required. A possible source for the DNA evidence was from here at Rense. So, has Pye left out the evidence that proves the skull is that of a human?

His focus appears to be on demonstrating to readers that it can't be human. He does this by pointing out differences in a normal human sample. The skull is not normal and didn't come from a normal human. It came from a deformed child. The child was aged around 4-5 years old and possibly died due to difficulties of it's condition.

The argument he uses about its extraordinary brain size (skull capacity) is inaccurate. He again leads the reader to share his conclusions and uses uncited claims.

The most reasonable explanation for the morphology of the skull is a condition known as brachycephaly. Skulls very similar to the SC are found here, here and the fused skull is explained and illustrated here....

Pye makes a lot of the extraordinary size of the skull and claims it's 200cc larger than the average human. It isn't clear where the large capacity measurements are from and based on the video comparison it actually isn't larger than an adult human. It looks much smaller in comparison to Pye's own head. His figure of 1600cc is large, but not unusual...

Figures for the average brain size of modern humans tend to vary between sources, but a typical value is 1350 or 1400 cc (cubic centimetres). The following figures should convey a feel for the normal range of variation in human skulls. Burenhult (1993) states that the 90% of humans fit in the range 1040-1595 cc, and that the extreme range is 900-2000 cc.

Talk Origins

So...he runs at least two websites. He sells a $30 book that is wholly based on the SC being hybrid alien. He tours the alien/paranormal circuit. He is interviewed in magazines and online. His incentive is making a living or at least subsidizing one. His agenda is ancient alien visitors and the typical mash-up of pyramids, aliens, bigfoots and hybridized aliens. Alien interventions etc.

If people are interested in hearing the man Pye speak on the subject...there's an interview from 2007 that shows the intellectual thinking at work...

April 8, 2007 — Lloyd Pye and Lorraine Warren Explore the strange tale of the mysterious “Starchild” with Lloyd Pye. Is this skull from an alien/human hybrid, a hoax, or some sort of strange deformity? You’ll also hear some frightening tales of hauntings from renowned ghost hunter Lorraine Warren.

Yawn...

Not another of those sensational threads with Earth Shattering News. Aaah, we can’t reveal sources or names. But, you can trust us…and oh yeah send some money, please.

A real scientist would publish his finding in a journal where it could be examined by other scientists and comments made. We are to believe that this scientist decides to tell an ATS’er to publish in a thread anomalously Yeah, right. Then what?

Sorry, I see these threads more and more here on ATS. PROOF…just show me the proof.

I just want to know, is this guy really making money and how much? Was that guy being serious about sending $500? Is there even a way to know if the money is going to this guy? Don`t people realize that, if this was real, there are plenty of rich people out there who would love the investment opportunity? Let alone the opportunity to be a part of history? If it was real they would never need money from the common man. As romantic as it sounds, lol! (A small but dedicated group of believers pools together their resources, determined to change the world forever. In the face of skepticism these warriors... donate money?) In this economy it`s becoming more and more difficult for me to feel sorry for these people. Their money will be squandered regardless. At least if the money goes to me, then I know it is going to someone with, well, my moral standards. I could buy medicine and pay bills. I am so deep in debt I don`t even care about paying it off anymore. And that`s without owning a single credit card. The way I look at it, my morals are the only thing keeping me from taking advantage of people. And think of how many people out there are in situations similiar to mine but do not share my moral code? If a story can be made up for profit, someone will do it. I suppose I will put my creativity to a positive use. Like writing. I wish there was a site where you could show a chapter or two for free and people could decide if they want to pay for another chapter or two or more. it would just be a small token amount, with donations accepted, of course. But if you`re good and earn a reputation, enough people paying a small amount could add up to a significant amount for the author. Anyone know how to set that up? I`d love to work at home on a project like that. who wouldn`t?

I believe this "star child" skull to be a hoax. Not saying the skull is fake, but the story that goes along with it is just one giant HOAX - which is where this thread should be at - the HOAX forum. The skull is nothing more than an abnormality due to some sort of birth defect!

Don't donate any money to anyone who is withholding information before you donate.

Red flag here for me is that they are declaring they have had analysis done proving this to be not human, and yet they need money? Why? If there is proof already then why not share it? I'm sure people will donate money once proof is given and it is shown publicly.

I'm also sure that it would cost zero dollars to have this printed publicly. Why? Because many people in the world who believe in ET's who are professional writers/journalists would more than happily write up a free public article professionally written proving without a doubt that this 'star child' skull is not human. So, why not get a professional who will write for free, spread it all throughout the internet, and then once that is done, accept donations and print it on paper, write a book, whatever, and that will be that?

Do not be subject to naivety in this case. It's a hoax, and they just want your moneysss... I mean this is such a great idea to gather cash in such a horrible economy! Give hope to people out there that something else is out there that is other worldly, not human, whatever, and then ask for $$$!

Damn why didn't I think of this?

Edit to add that I just want to say I am a believer of ET's, and for all I know they are walking around us as I speak, but this whole star child skull thing has been going on for years, and it's just bunk, complete bunk... I remember watching UFO Hunters try and tackle this. Once I saw it I was just sort of put off fr[m the show, I mean you could tell just by looking at the skull (don't even have to be a doctor to see it) that it was just a deformity of some sort.

And with all the government testing facilities that have proven to do crazy things to animals and the human body, not to mention chemical warfare as well, this could just be a skull of a human who had been (unfortunately) subjected to some sort of experimental testing.

J.C.!

Please re-read the OP and see that it was Lloyd Pye's mailing list, not just a anonymous ATS-er.

Super duper ignorent to just write this off, 100% ignorent to write this off and totally obscure what the OP stated. job well done. go away.

As to the OP - SUPER interesting, not gonna say this is 100% proof until I see this go public, with his name and the geneticist's name on record, but I can't wait! str. flag for sho!

You need to leave behind this skull, its just stupid. If aliens have the ability to travel interplanetary lightyears away they are not going to come to Earth and cross breed with humans. I just don't see a species millions of years ahead of us technologically and spiritually doing that. If anything we are being surveyed right now and studied from a distance, although there is active programs to shoot down these craft for purpose of backengineering.

Wow- The human race is absolutely completly trashed up inside their brain. Here we have 100% proof, and YES everything in this thread are 100% correct and not fabricated,

BUT STILL there are people who dont understand?

I mean, what should we do about these humans in the future? Are they ripped from intelligence and certain parts of the brain? I cant see the reason for them to even walk on this planet.

If you are so brainwashed and thickheaded that you cant even understand whats RIGHT INFRONT OF YOU. Then you are not worth living. A harsh comment but this has gone to far.
