I suppose you mean this:

www.thunderbolts.info...

*Take note that thunderbolts.info is considered a well known crackpot EU (Electric Universe) theory website. Look here: goodmath.blogspot.com...

This is a great find; however, I would still be wary of calling anyone crackpot or any other name until the experiment is repeated, by the name caller.

(edit to add: I just realized that you were calling the website crackpot. My apologies)

As we have established, video can be manipulated, and that goes both ways.

But honestly.... this is a great find and it also exemplifies why keeping a cool head when asking questions will yield the best answers from someone who keeps an equally cool head while answering them.

Star for the find.

Cheers.

I understand why you would want to criticize him for referring to data and showing us nothing.

I understand all of the criticisms that you would make, and I most likely would agree with them all.

But I am way more interested in what he either spilled the beans on or made up out of thin air.

I, like you, am here to seek truth, and anytime anyone gives me something concrete that I can repeat, then I am very grateful for that.
And for that alone I will hold off judgment on the guy.
If not, then I am criticizing obscurities and anomalies that are blatantly obvious and adding nothing really new to the mix.

I will be back when I have some results. It might take me a few days.

That just tells me that you are more hopeful than I am. I am not here looking for any hope. I am not knocking you for that, it just clearly demonstrates we are not looking for the same thing.

A man is presented as some scientific authority figure and the first thing out of his mouth contradicts the scientific method. Science is a study of observation and discovery. This scientist mistakenly calls video of things that could be anything "data" and then proceeds to discuss it as if it were really observed.

Basically what the video shows is someone saying they saw a David Blaine special on TV and after carefully reviewing it, they have determined scientifically that he is a wizard.

Sorry but that is not how science works, EVEN A LITTLE BIT.

-my opinion, not bashing you for yours, just offering mine.

You made some really good points, and I understand them, but like you said, we seem to be looking for different things.

I have to ask you...

Do you come to ATS simply to try and debunk people?

And if so, why?

If you are not looking for hope, then for what exactly are you looking?

No, I do not. Taking a look at my post history could answer that for you.

On ATS? What I am looking for may take too long to answer than would be kosher for this thread and still on topic. I can definitively state that ATS is not where I go looking for HOPE though.

Hope is not something I ever expect to find on the internet, much less a website like this. Hope is the very last thing I would be coming here for. Hope was also the last thing I was looking for when I went to see "The Crazies" but I sure enjoyed it. I did not go to college looking for hope but I still learned a lot. There are many reasons outside of "hope" to be here.

Please feel free to look at my post history. You will see that I am not just a serial debunker by any means. Unfortunately, something that is so obviously fraudulent and people still flock to worship at really catches my attention.

It takes a lot more than hope to accomplish anything. Hoping Hutchison is for real is all nice and good but without even a little bit of scientific support, it is NOTHING. There is no data, no reproductions, no proof, no nothing.

All anyone has here to examine is video footage. Can you honestly tell me that you know that floating bowling ball is really in fact a solid bowling ball? Can you state for a fact that you know the camera and the scene were not turned upside down? Do you know for a fact that the string attached to the UFO is not pulling it up and down?

If you know any of these things for a fact, I would be super interested in seeing the facts behind it. So far, all we have though are videos and they are evidence of nothing other than the fact that he got his hands on something that records video.

I could have hope for Chris Angel and David Copperfield too but the difference is that they admit they are illusionists. Can you explain to me any other differences between these magicians and Hutchison?

Considering that I still haven't established anything concrete about J.H. yet, it would be impossible for me to compare these three folks.

I suppose that we have different meanings of the word hope.

When I agreed with the notion that I come to ATS with hope, that doesn't mean that I am hoping for someone or something to be right or wrong, but that I simply hope to learn something.

Just learn. That is my hope, or expectation I should say because that word is ummmmm.....
"analogous" to hope in this situation, from my perspective.

And it is totally impossible to learn something if one thinks that they already know the answers to everything.

So with that being said, I like to maintain "objective curiosity" in these boards.

You just completely contradicted yourself. You clearly stated that you come here for knowledge and not hope. You hope you will find knowledge here. That is not the same as finding hope here. I am going by the definitions given in any English dictionary. You seem to be using some esoteric rule that allows for one word to be promoted when the actual goal has been clearly defined as something else.

According to you, you come here for knowledge and not hope. I am just reading what you wrote there.

I did answer your questions but I see that you feel mine are not nearly as important to deal with. So much for hoping to gain any knowledge there, eh?

I am not sure why you feel that I am avoiding your questions or think that I contradict myself, but if you want that then you can have it.
It is all yours.

Not sure where you get "contradictions" from but I am saying you are avoiding my questions because the questions I asked you just two posts back remain unanswered.

I asked you questions.

You have not answered them or even acknowledged them.

Got it yet?

Look man, if I missed some questions you asked, it is simply because I missed the questions.
I genuinely didn't understand what you were talking about when you said that I am avoiding your questions.

This thread is low on my mental priorities list.
I am not avoiding anything.

So with that being said...

I am not quite sure why you wanted to leave that pseudo-nasty personal attack post on my wall, but please do not do that in the future.
I deleted it and I don't want to alert the mods, but if you leave another then I will.

Now I am not responding to you because you have acted like a stalker.
Now I am definitely avoiding you.

Um...ok.

So you have the time and energy to post this whiny complaint about the questions but not the time to just read a post you already sort of responded to? Now it is a whole 3 posts back. How hard would it have been to just read it. The questions are clearly indicated by both the content and the "?" at the end.

The point is, you are on this thread talking about finding knowledge and truth. I asked you a couple of questions in that vein. I pointed out you did not answer them. Instead of going back and reading them again and giving it a try, you have posted twice now complaining that I pointed it out.

See the irony there?

This one is easy. Why would you open the comment section on your profile if not for people to comment? It was an option and you went for it. Alert the mods all you like. You are trying to characterize it as something it was not. I violated no TOS whatsoever and it was not nearly as "nasty" as you seem to be saying. If it were so bad, I would have left it up for everyone to see what a jerk I am. Instead you erased the evidence and then proceeded to make stuff up about it. I am noticing a trend.'

You completely avoided any real discussion about the topic at hand- Hutchison. When I asked you questions, you just ignored them and asked me questions. When I pointed out that you did not answer my questions, you ranted about how I said you contradicted yourself-which I never said- and how you dodged my questions - which at that point I had also NOT SAID.

Then you spent more time and energy complaining about the questions you did not answer than it would have taken to just answer them.

Then you said goodbye.

Your comments section on your profile was open for people to leave comments. Since you had stated you were done here after acting like an angry child because I questioned you about ANYTHING, I decided to have my final word there.

All well within the TOS to boot!

Now I am not responding to you because you have acted like a stalker.
Now I am definitely avoiding you.

Awesome. I asked you real questions and you avoided them. I pointed that out and you wasted 3 posts complaining about it. You make up things about what I posted on your profile section. You tell me you are done with me here. Then you tell me you are done with me again.

I think I see the nature of this thread just fine. Basically all I posted on your profile was the same thing- I see what you are up to and I am sorry I bothered to waste any time thinking any real conversation about this wizard would happen.

Before you do run off, please take a look at what I actually said again.

I did answer your questions but I see that you feel mine are not nearly as important to deal with. So much for hoping to gain any knowledge there, eh?

I never mentioned contradictions. I did not say you "dodged" or "avoided" my questions and I was not at all hostile. Now look at your reactions again.

The contradiction was a whole other thing and was fully explained when said.

Maybe English is not your first language?

Actually Josephus, I was pretty interested in the answers myself. Have you given up on the thread altogether or just one person?

I took the time to extract the questions K J was asking you and I would really appreciate it if you would at least address them.

I would actually be interested in hearing what anyone supporting Hutchison had to say in response to those questions. I just happened to think I was actually having a real discussion with a person who had something to say on the topic.

Anyone that believes Hutchison that would like to answer these would be more than welcomed.

Even mediocre stage magicians know you have to show your marks a 360º view of your levitation.

At least pass a "solid" ring around it for crying out loud.

The electricky noise is cool though.

Those both look like really bad illusions to me. If the camera were to go 360 degrees around the ball, then it might look like something.

In the top one it looks to me like ball is on a post that is coming up through through the lid of that container, like a puppet on a stick.

The second one looks like the camera is angled just in place in order to not show whatever it is suspended on. That ball is atatched to something springy and the surface it is "floating" above.

I obviously cannot prove any of this but after watching magicians all my life, these do not even look like good attempts.
