G'day

Here's an update from my previous thread regarding this important issue.

I am disgusted that our Australian government could stoop so low.

Communications Minister Stephen Conroy's censorship policy won him the Internet Villain of the Year trophy, awarded by the British internet industry.

I can't believe they will actually get this through both houses of parliament.

But you know.....they might succeed!

Yours in concern.....

It's just the beginning of a man-made chain reaction that will contain and then constrain the public to free infomation. If/When this goes ahead, it will only get worse.

Nice thread Maybe, maybe not,

It's up the the people of Australia (and perhaps Anon) to stop this ridiculous railroading of law to pass a bill which stops freedom of expression on the internet.

Sure they can talk about kiddie fiddlers and terrorists all they want but they each existed before the internet and they'll continue to exist without it.

What we need is for the people of the net to stand together and state the case for why the internet is important. But those 'elected' officials are too far in the pocket of Murdoch et al. to care about future generations and their liberties.

I'll be keeping an eye on this whole thing to see if it passes the litmus test of humanity.

ATS rules do not permit me from saying what I really want to say so I shall tone it down a bit......just a bit....

Up yours Stephen Conroy, up yours (Insert middle finger)

The man hasn't got a hope in hell of re-election.

I'm all for the censorship of some things (ie child pornography etc.)

But have we got a comprehensive list of things that will be blocked?

What if their are certain viewpoints and news sources that will be blocked?

I signed a petition against this early last year.

G'day MemoryShock

Thank you for posting the link to your very interesting thread.

I've scanned through it once.

I'll need to go back & absorb it in detail.

Kind regards

G'day Sahrhryce

Let's hope Rudd decides he's enough strife already without this & changes his mind.

G'day m0r1arty

It's just a shocker.....

Anon has already made a few DOS attacks on the fed gov website.

It will take more than that to make an impression on Rudd's galaxy-sized ego.

Censorship has always existed in one form or another, even on Internet.. Have you seen any child pornography? Go Google, try to find one for me..

Stop crying about it.. Every action has good and bad consequences, don't you keep focusing on one specific consequence because it won't help you.

Examine your stance on this issue again and see where it takes you..

G'day oozyism

OK.....I will "stop crying about it"

Now that I've done that, between my remaining sobs I might ask you if you would mind clarifying your very cryptic post.

Could you do that?

If you can, I will be able to offer a response.

Kind regards

Perhaps I'm a bit thick here but are you asking us to try to find child porn on Google to see how easy/hard it is??

I think you are asking a bit to much if you are.

What a wonderful palaver of pontificated waffle. Care to examine what you wrote and try to make it mean something because, as is, it seems like the ramblings of a mythical charlatan - there's meaning there if you search for it (honest!).

That is what we call a one liner ..

To you it makes sense, but to me it make absolutely no sense at all what you are trying to say.

So please do so clarify.. If you got something to say, say it, it won't hurt you or me..

Hehe yeah I tried that and it just made my post look like a "Wall-o-big letters" so I shortened it to just Stephen Conjob.

G'day ghostsoldier

That's one of the problems, isn't it.....that fact the fed gov wants to decide what's good for us & control us to this extreme extent.

I haven't signed that petition.

I might do so now.
