Thats the one that does most of the thinking for many members here on ATS.

The sky lights changed color on San francisco in 1988 and in Los Angeles in 1994 just before and durloing the quakes it is a natural phenominum
I call it the earth screaming usually green and blue with some gold
and I was in both of those quakes and saw them ,it seems any plate movement over a 5.0 will produce them and a rogue wave is headed toward Hawaii and may become a tsumani if it hits

Are you saying people are seeing transformers and powerlines exploding and taking it as a phenomenon?

It was dark at the time. With dust in the air, the sparking could appear to light up the sky.

But the phenomenon of earthquake lights is real too.

I think transformers wouldn't cause the sky to change colors, but I think the waves of whatever it is the energy levels crashing and stuff like another poster said could cause this,

I mean this phenomena is interesting, we should research that guys I mean is kind of odd...

Theories

Earthquake lights are caused by an unknown mechanism. There are numerous theories as to how and why they occur.

One explanation involves intense electric fields created piezoelectrically by tectonic movements of rocks containing quartz[5].

Another possible explanation is local disruption of the Earth's magnetic field and/or ionosphere in the region of tectonic stress, resulting in the observed glow effects either from ionospheric radiative recombination at lower altitudes and greater atmospheric pressure or as aurora. However, the effect is clearly not pronounced or notably observed at all earthquake events and is yet to be directly experimentally verified.[6]

There is also debate in the scientific community regarding Radon as a possible precursor to some earthquakes [7], so another theory is that glowing clouds might be light emission produced by ionization or plasma-chemical reactions[8]

I'd have to agree with both statements. Actually, I believe there is a Chinese Seismologist/Geologist that has found evidence of a release of a type of gas with EQ's. His claims also state that this same phenomena can create "Earthquake clouds" BEFORE an EQ. He seems to have enjoyed some sucess making predictions based on his idea. Its getting closer, but its still very far away so it shouldnt have any impact. But out there in space where time doesnt exist,there is very very hard to predict the movement of something like nirubu, suddenly it moves the twice of distance it did the day before.

The MSM says it was an 8.8 so I assume that is what it is. It would be so much easier to track the discussions on one thread rather than two, not to mention the several tsunami threads as well.

but I do believe in all sort of things... not that it matters but I have done so much research., btw we need to know how to separate Crap from probable truths...and HAARP my dear friends is real.... if Haarp is behind what is going on, that is another story and we shouldn't jump right on it, however we should analize the DOMINO effect these whole thing implies and the part it will play for a future NWO

I agree, and I don't think I was the first to post a thread. The initial report last night when I started the thread was 8.5 mag. It was then evaluated and upgraded to the 8.8, after being downgraded FIRST to an 8.3. The conflict is with the way EQ's are immediately posted by computer, then evaluated for accuracy and amended.

For the HAARPER's, this area of Chile is NO stranger to EQ's of large magnitude, long before HAARP came about. Actually, Chile holds the record for largest recorded EQ of modern times, a 9.5 EQ struck in 1960. The EQ caused a Tsunami that affected Hawaii and Japan, cause death & destruction in those two places, as well as damage along California's coast. Some people want to believe in man made control of EQ's, that's fine...but some people believe that this planet has some awesome forces of it's OWN---it's does NOT need human beings to exert that tremendous power.

I don't think any part of the world is A STRANGER FOR EQ , "Haarp came to the light" in the 1990's that doesn't mean it began there however,
the Haarp will keep playing.. more frequent and louder
