Stop your trolling. You are the only one mentioning HAARP. Three posts like this already. Moderators, why do you allow people like this to keep posting? Creating an issue where there is none?

Well amazingly I lost my internet last night, and I'm catching up now. Even more unfortunately I live in Huntington Beach CA, at below sea level, in a POSTED Tsunami zone. I'm not feeling sorry for myself, as what's happened in Chile is far worse so far. I've read 80 confirmed fatalities, is that correct? Has there been any video coming from areas closer to the epicenter?

I am hearing a woman on CNN in CHILE SAYING THE SKY WAS CHANGING COLORS DURING THE QUAKE, and that she said was the scariest part of all!!!
Anyone else JUST HEAR THIS???
I find this VERY curious!

Wasn't there also a report of strange light phenomena over Haiti just before the quake there?

Can natural quakes cause light phenomena? Variations in the EM field or something?

Any thoughts?

Well, I'm wondering if electrical problems, such as high tension lines, transformers, starting fires, could cause this. But this woman ad experienced a large quake before, and she very matter of factually, and emphatically stated, the "sky was changing colors during the EQ, and she really thought the world was coming to an end because it was so strange."
And the CNN commentators did what they do so well...they ignored it like it wasn't even said. If it was me, I would have been asking many more questions about what exactly she meant.

the rsoe edis website has pictures of the damage is you scroll down for it.
I don't care what anybody says,.. nearly each month there is a very damaging earthquake and the frequency is picking up. I am sure someone will try to post something that says this is normal, but I no longer believe that. The quakes and volcanic activity are on the rise..hisz.rsoe.hu...

I just heard a woman on the news saying that "buildings were jumping up and down off the ground" and that it lasted over 3 minutes..

How sad... What I want to know is, why such a low casualty rate if this was BIGGER than Haiti???

Because they're more industrialized?

the weather channel just said there is a tsunami warning issued for the entire pacific ocean. New Z and Hwian Islands, are on a watch list.

The Weather Channel also reported that Lake Ponchatrain in New Orleans was reacting to the earthquake. The water started rising and sloshing against the shoreline. Not enough to be alarmed. This is truly amazing how the whole world seems to be reacting to this disaster. Haiti did not have the same effects on other countries.

Good morning, sorry to wake up to this, was hoping in the light of day things would not be so bad, what I am seeing on CNN is much damage, again my thoughts and prayers go out to the people of Chili..understand that there is still danger from the Tsunami.

There are already tsunami type waves hitting the coast of CHILE and 7.7 feet wave just hit TALCAHUANO in Chile.. pretty devastating... the town filled with water..and destruction...

I won't ruled out the powers that BE HAARP ...
and Biblical prophesies...

the economic world collapsing
devastating earthquakes one after the other.. I mean a month apart..
whatever it is, who ever or to whatever the blame is put on..it is just sad and as human beings we need to take conciousnesss to what is happening in the planet.....

IT IS A DOMINO EFFECT...

btw.. ONE question..

I've heard a reporter gave an interview to CNN and she said she was on her bed and open her eyes because the tremor woke her up, she thought it was just another tremor, but then she said it got violent and she looked out the window and she saw THE SKY CHANGE COLORS!! has anybody heard these type of things happening to the sky during earthquakes?

Here is the CNN interview (Her name was Cecila Lagos, journalist) quoted directly from DVR...

"Besides, I saw through my window, while I was still in bed, I saw the sky changing colors, it was absolutely surreal. I really thought it was the end of the world...I don't know I hope you understand me because I'm not exaggerating really because I saw it through my window like that. That was the most terrifying thing seeing the sky changing colors with the terribly, amazingly, strong movement of the earth, I thought, ok...this is mother earth"

I'm not a HAARP believer, although I don't completely discount theories like it, just because. Can anyone comment on what this woman saw, care to give any explanations for the phenomena?

These lights need to be explained in more detail. I believe the earthquake hit in the middle of the night, so, how did someone witness the sky changing colors......at night?

According to Sky News

it was 8.8 quake with 6.9 aftershocks
122 people dead(known about), mass damage in areas hundreds of miles away
53 nations on tsunami alert
Sirens blare in French polynesia and Hawaii incoming Tsunami

Meterological survey says large tsunami waves covering the entire pacific ocean moving west. Polynesia,Hawaii,Easter Island espeically under threat.

US is ready to aid with anything they have.

Strategic placement for Argentina...perhaps..

EDIT: 5.8 aftershock in Argentina, a witness said of the Chile quake that the "sky changed colours" reports say a 11-13 foot wave hit a Chilean village. Also the volcano is apparently showing rumbles.

2 major earthquakes in 24 hours and nearlya dozen aftershocks..

7.0 in Japan
8.8 in Chile

normal? earth vibrations changing?
Something large entering the atmosphere?

Well, unlike Haiti, Chile is more prone to Earthquakes and do have a substantial infrastructure that can withstand against Quakes of this magnitude.

After the 1960 quake of 9.5 (which was the largest recorded) the government stepped up measures and enforced planning regulations to cope with reoccurring earthquakes.

Like Haiti, this struck whilst most were still in bed
- The sucky thing about quakes is that its not the Earthquake that will kill you! Its human impact on the Earth itself!
What I mean is that, if you were standing in an open field when an 8+ Earthquake hit... Nothing would happen other than the ground moving... Basically, you wouldn't die!

Unfortunately 90% of the time in built up areas (Towns/cities) the route cause of death during an Earthquake is stuff collapsing or falling on you.
So its a secondary effect of the Quake and NOT the quake itself.

So again, although this Quake was 1000x stronger than Haiti, Santiago has better constructed infrastructure that can with stand the burden of an Earthquake.

Though, as we have seen from recent imagery coming out from the country... There is still a fair about of devastation

But no where near the scale of Haiti.....
