It could have been synchronicity or it could have been planned, but this thread resonates with me as being real. In which case it should be pointed out that the member called Dragonsmusic, me was being purely artistic a moment ago when I linked the facts that I referrenced the song Devil Came Down to Georgia on the ATS on the very same day that an FBI agent asked an ATS member officer about ATS

They have my info because of my security clearances, but they will need to dig a little to match me up with my avatar. I was just curious if you had given any thought, that this fellow agent (officer) actually knows more about you posting then you do about him posting. Did he share with you his ATS handle?

This is a public forum. Anyone can read it and participate. It isn't "spying" to read a public forum, anymore than it's "spying" to listen to someone on a street corner screaming at the top of their lungs. LEOs, even Feds, are afforded the same rights as everyone else. Are you suggesting ATS should prohibit government employees from being members?

Listening to your phone calls is spying. Intercepting your mail is spying. Reading what you post on a public forum isn't spying. If you don't want something read by everyone, don't post it in a public forum. Damn, is that not obvious?

What I told you yesterday in my car was confidential, now we are having to conduct a serious investigation, way. to ruin it for your friends by posting this, you are being watched

Wow! this thread has really run the gamut in the last 24 hrs, everything from paranoid sympathizers, to gay versus straight, to misinformation about police procedures, and even some national security thoughts.... Who knew....?? Or should I say, it figures... All in all good conversation for sure, and once again excellent post. Just don't spend too much time on here though OP, ya gotta serve and protect a little bit too...

Nothing...atleast that I know of. If the guy was a member I promise you, he is no longer. (BTW: I had a former co-worker of mine say he was a computer-hacker working for the government. And that he was on a list of five people who had authorization to hack into government agencies to investigate corruption.)

I've yet to come across anybody while at work who happened to be somebody who visited ATS. But I did happen to have a coworker watching me as I was reading & posting on here. It was my Captain. (I work as a security officer for a local firm owned and run by a county-sheriff. And I work alongside local police-officers who pull security in their spare-time off duty.)

I'm in a un-marked patrol-car with my captain and he looks over at the laptop and he's like, jokingly, "Why are you looking at that s***?! Huh?!" And he points to where it says '9-11 conspiracies' and 'Politics' and then he says "Don't be reading about that s*** dude! It f***'s you up!" And I tell him "You know that's not what I was reading--I was reading something else on here about a topic I posted up involving cops." And he says "I don't care, dude! Try looking at something else. Gimmie that computer!" And so I hand the laptop to him and he logs into some porn website. And then he says "Now see? I don't have a problem with you looking at something like this.." I'm like "Ummm...I look at that too...--btw does your woman have a problem with YOU looking at that?!" Then he says "STFU! I'm going to need you to erase the history off here when we leave!" lol.

Cool story with FBI, obviously many do sift through the post or linked images. I assume some posters do attract alot more attention than others.

Pretty common sense that they visit ATS if you ask me

I wonder what they do when we discover something groundbreaking tough.

That's more than coincidence.

Even park rangers/police have friends, who can find out exactly who you are where else you visit.

I know it's a public forum. I'm not saying that public officials can't watch public forums. I'm all well and good with the FBI looking at my internet posts. Maybe I can help get them to wake up and see the real problems of the day. All I'm saying is that the guy said that they were MONITORING THIS WEBSITE, at least, according to his story. So, isn't that a little suspicious? Don't you think? I mean... it's one thing for a group of people to be doing it on their own but another to monitor it. That's my point.

Draw your on conclusions on why they visit, decide for yourself what they are after, but if you can help it, DON'T freak out to too much!!!

I's funny you mention not to freak out. I too work for the criminal justice system and I have a few friends working for the FBI, US Marshalls and the Secret Service. They also check this site purely for information because yes, this site does indeed have intelligent people! However, in checking with my FBI friend this dude might have wanted to intimidate you.

Make some poor slob look into it, and write it up in a way that makes their boss happy with pretty formatting and lots of unnecessary words.

This would not look very good if reported. nor would it do you good in a tribunal.

OR the guy he was going to talk too, WHOM I have arrested before, may be a member here.....lol...that could make for interesting...he's not though, he is on parole and not allowed internet access...IF THAT GIVES ANYONE A CLUE OF HIS CHARGES....

As for the value of my membership...I simply am not scared to say i visit this site and post on here. Whats the big deal? NOTHING. I don't need 15 minutes, I get that everyday on the job...

I haven't read all of this thread, so apologies if this has been asked..but did it occur to you that he might have been there for YOU? Not for any nefarious reasons, mind you, but it's possible they're checking you out. might be part of some other investigation, etc..interesting the agent is on a guy you arrested, and mentions a website you frequent.

This is absolutely no surprise. There are many issues on this site and I am sure the FBI is probably more interested in who is posting as opposed to what is being posted.

This site is full of disinformation government agents, this is quite obvious.

The reason I rarely come to this site anymore, too much disinformation. At least they are honest and admit stalking the site.

For myself I have been followed by the afosi and fbi since I've been in the air forc in the mid to late 70s.
One fbi agent I ran into told me that they had found a crashed flying saucer and when they finally got it open they found me inside.
