Thank you for posting havoc. I probably wouldn't have searched for the speech, so I appreciate catching it here.

I thought it was a good speech, passionate & well delivered .. and a welcomed change from the Beck we've seen lately. 'used to listen to him fairly regularly; but somewhere along the line, he careened from "passion" to "anger" (ala Limbaugh & Jones). When that happens, the speaker loses credibility, & the message gets lost as people start attacking the messenger rather than to listening to the message. It's a shame because the delivery doesn't change the facts, nor does the persona of the presenter.

But, in this speech he was more even keeled & light, which made it easier both to absorb & to jot research notes. I think he dropped the ball at the ending though; a "call to action" would have been more appropriate than the sappy "sun'll come out tomorrow" schtuff. But other than that, well done says I. A nice enough presentation that maybe it'll encourage some to take another look.

I skipped 3 pages of irrelevant Beck bashing here, but I didn't see a single disagreement of fact. And that really is the point.

Thanks!

You are welcome. Seems all posters want to do is argue.

Agreed. The point is, no matter who gives the speech, someone needs to get the word out that this gov't needs to quit spending money.

Oh yeah and for all you people against Glenn Beck...

Let's see you do better.
Then, try to get on national TV and make a speech.
Oh wait, you're just citizens, you have no pull...
I forgot this is Glenn's job, he doesn't do anything else.
He doesn't pump gas for people, he doesn't make hamburgers...
He is on TV! Wow. He's an entertainer...no, really?
Everyone on TV is an entertainer now. Can't you see that?
Sensationalism makes ratings, which pays the networks.
ALL YOUR JOURNALISTS, BROADCASTERS, AND ENTERTAINERS DO THIS!

Until the day this man stabs me in the back, like alot of posters are saying, I will take the speech and learn from it. I will take the speech and realize that going into debt is a terrible way to run your life.
How hard is that to understand?

Oh yeah...when we see your "messiah" stab us all in the back...
Wait...that's right...he won't, because democrats aren't liberals pushing for spending more of my taxes for "progress" and building a bigger gov't.
They're creating more jobs, FOR THE GOVERNMENT!

Anyone even listening to Congress right now? The "Jobs" bill?
Government does NOT create jobs! (unless you want to work for them)

[facepalm x3]

How can I have any regard for the speech when its deliverer is so accuracy challenged?

He has actually admitted that his show doesn't do any fact checking.

So why should I think that his speech would be any different?

Foreign Policy and economic policy are inter-woven. If Glenn Beck wants washington to quit spending then he needs to get behind the anti-war movement...which he won't.

We are spending 1 trillion dollars managing are global empire. Glenn won't talk about that because he won't admit that 9/11 was an inside job and are wars are unjustified.

Just yesterday I heard we killed another 27 civilians in afghanistan, Including women and children. Is this what Glenn Beck supports? I can no longer support the murdering of innocence...this is wrong!

Then Glenn Beck gets up at CPAC and claims he hasn't heard that come to jesus moment from the Republicans yet??? After Ron Paul spoke and laid out exactly what Glenn supposedly supports. Glenn Beck is a Media whore and a Benedict Arnold.

Support Ron Paul for REAL change.

Muse...It was Muse...Not Radiohead. Ghghahah! Some of you people in this thread are absolute mental degenerates!

Are Becks beliefs so toxic to you that you have to post a bunch of hate about a speech you haven't even listened to?

Talk about self applied blinders on people! Geesh! People literally have such a hatred of Beck because others tell them he is racist and hateful, that they don't even bother to come up with their own opinion. Even if you cannot stand the guy, go watch the speech. The only reason you really would not watch the speech is that you are afraid you may agree with him. If you know you won't agree with what he says, what risk is there in watching?

Usually you can tell the people that never have taken the time to watch Beck. The call him racist and filled with hate. Most likely they were forwarded some youtube clip taken out of context, and something Beck said that he has since said he was wrong about. Seriously, if you watched Beck ever, even if you disagree with him 100%, you would see he isn't racist and hateful. He's laughing and joking the entire time. He doesn't mind democrats, what he doesn't like is progressives and there is a big difference. He isn't even Republican, he's a libertarian.

Seriously people, watch the speech, then comment on it. Don't agree? 110% fine, just tell us what you don't agree with and why.

But the question of the day remains for those of us who are true Conservatives.. CAN the Republican Party be purged of Neo-cons and ultra Religious Social Conservative Fascists? Or is it dead, and a new party needed to take over the GOP's hold on true conservative values?

Personally, I think the GOP is dead. Far to many self righteous socialists politicians have infiltrated it. I'd rather vote Democrat.. at least they are honest about what they really are.

Thank you for posting the video. I listened to Glenn Beck and thought his message was clear and sincere. There are always detractors and critics but if Beck's intent was to make people think and encourage them to research, ask questions and use more common sense to solve problems then he hit the mark. If perhaps people would stop focusing on the messenger and focused on the message maybe it would improve their perception of things - try turning away from the screen and just listening.

No doubt Beck is tends to be animated or overly dramatic but it's part of his public persona. I do not doubt his sincerity as he scolds and points the finger at both parties - I actually appreciate it - for forsaking their principles, resorting to quick fixes that can very well destroy us as a nation and forgetting about the children of this nation who will be left to carry the burden of this generation's mismanagement.

Nobody is so wise or worthy that they can speak without sustaining hard criticism, constructive and otherwise. Many good and promising people have been disheartened because so few can stand up to the cruel bite of public scrutiny and criticism. Truth be told we all have feet of clay. I guess what I'm trying to say is: Cut the guy some slack, take whatever good he has to offer for all it's worth.

I won't belittle your own personal beliefs and motives, as I don't know them, but the problem with the "Government spends too much" argument is that the government ALWAYS spends too much, regardless of who's in power. "Jimmy," "Bobby," "Sarah," "Informed American Guy", "Informed American Girl" etc, individual people that can reason, concern themselves with deficits, spending, etc, all of the time, whenever it happens. BUT as a collective, the masses? They only start squawking about "SPENDING!! DEBT!!! MORTGAGING OUR CHILDREN'S FUTURE" when right-wing nutties tell them to worry about it.

The "Average" non-political American citizen cares not one bit, and has even less understanding, about national debt and spending. NOT ONE BIT! They SAY they do because Beck tells them it's a problem. But not one of these people will tell you that Republican spending in non-democrat years was a problem, will they?

That's the problem with this argument. This is what's so frustrating.

As a conservative like you, I view it differently than you. Yes the Republican party is being run by an element that has its elected officials making very un-Republican moves. But they are not conservative enough right now. They are democrat lite.

And I think the democrat party has been hijacked also. I think the democrats are making moves and policies that are outside its character. The democrat party is now being run by far left liberals.

Both sides have been hijacked and are corrupted. Neither deserve our allegiance.

Agreed 100% .. personally, I registered as a Libertarian. But as for Democrats, they may be run by ultra-liberals, but it's a liberal party.. it's not like it's been over-run by conservatives? Being a Conservative, seeing your party hijacked by liberal minded people (or "moderates) is a little disheartening.

I believe society has to many ideologies to simply say "left or right" .. we need more parties, more choices, I'd like to see a strong liberal and strong conservative party emerge to compete against the two party system.

I agree totally. I am so against the 2 party system. I think it's a shame that our politicians and media completely ignore 3rd party candidacies.

Your comment was removed more than likely because it had nothing to do with the OP or any comment that was pertinent to the conversation.

Did it have anything to do with the speech?

Or did it have the same vitriolic substance of the comment I am referring to now?

Maybe someone alerted your comment?

Hmmmmmmmmmmm?

You speak your version of the truth which is obviously a "blind truth". Wasn't it Jesus who said to take the beam out of your own eye before trying to remove the prick from your neighbor's eye. Don't let the blind lead the blind or they will all fall in a ditch.... something along those lines. I am denying ignorance with your worthless post....... Ignorance-Denied!

I tryied to watch all the vids, colud only stand it thill part 3, the guy is a meglomaniac and a bad actor, I think I killed abouth a million brain cells in those few minutes. Anyone who thought that was a good performance, has a low opinion of acting and showmanship, if elvis was alive and watching, he'd pull out his gun and blow the tv away. glenn beck I dont think he even knows what capitalism is all he knows it makes him rich, as for communism or socialism, if he would try to understand that his brain might go on overload. he is a tool a sign of degenerative forces at work, if peoples are looking for insparation abouth the american spirt you wont find it there, look somewere alse.

This coming from someone who can't spell or use proper punctuations?

Anyone who thought that was a good performance, has a low opinion of acting and showmanship, if elvis was alive and watching, he'd pull out his gun and blow the tv away.

I don't call it a performance. I call it an honest man speaking his honest mind. Elvis was a performer, not a commentator. I don't think anyone knows what his opinion would be of today's nature. Bad example, my friend.

glenn beck I dont think he even knows what capitalism is all he knows it makes him rich, as for communism or socialism, if he would try to understand that his brain might go on overload.

Please enlighten us. What is capitalism to you? Don't use the internet to give a formal answer... give me YOUR answer. The same with communism and socialism. Glenn knows what these things are and he also knows that no communist or socialist society has ever truly worked without collapsing. Capitalism... if used the way it was intended to, gives fair opportunity for anyone who's willing, to go and make something of themselves. Just look at "Papa John's" pizza chain. The man started in a closet making pizza for folks and now his franchise is like number 1 or 2 in the biz. Not everyone who uses capitalism is evil. It's not a crime to make money. It's a crime to TAKE money which is what communism and socialism does.

he is a tool a sign of degenerative forces at work, if peoples are looking for insparation abouth the american spirt you wont find it there, look somewere alse.

Where can you find the American spirit elsewhere on tv? The man brought roughly one million people to DC to protest against our federal government. Why is that the american spirit? Because our constitution specifies that we can protest and petition our government if it's not abiding by our laws. In fact, the constitution goes so far as to allowing for a malitia to keep our federal government in check. Jefferson even said that the tree of liberty should be watered by the blood of patriots and tyrants from time to time. It is its natural manuer. Am I suggesting going and starting war against our fed? Not necessarily. Let's use all our resources and show the government who's really in charge. They have forgotten that they work for us... not the other way around. I think you should realize that too. Hate Beck all you want, but to say you lost brain cells from watching the speech is an immature and illogical assessment.

PS.... learn how to spell and use proper punctuation and grammar before trying to act intelligent enough to make people think you know what you're talking about. Good day to you.

I spell that way because I want to.

glenn beck is a entertainer. commentators are performers. Elvis started by himself, performing from town to town to country because, he bellived he could sing. And he was right, gleen beck is a tool ment to take attention away from problems, its a waste of airtime.

capitalism is fire the fire of human nature, when your forefathers rebelled against the british that was capitalism, for there better intrest. when the slave ships came to africa that was capitalism, when they got there and found out that, its to hot to chase people through the dessert that was bad planning. When the natives found you can get shinny pots and pans for capturing and selling others from other tribes, thats selling your peoples short. but its still capitalism. When someone goes to look for a job, thats capitalism.

When whoever is hireing, hires someone because they will work for cheaper, thats his right to capitalism. Capitalism is not a system its a force its fire, you bring it in your house it will keep you warm, feed your familly, you let it rage without checking in on it it will burn you alive. All of the societies of the past were capitalism, and all were consumed by there own system of it or anothers. Today its no different, things in the system dont work, they need to be fixed or discarded, but the problem is not the people but it is the people.

As for socialism and communism, they dont exsit, today or in the past, but with some luck it might in the future, the only examples I can see is in the present in this land but it is flawed becouse its not self sustained, an anomaly, but it exsits the very rich they are communists and the rich are socialists. all others are capitalists. When theres is no distinction between these 3 life is good, and u can call it whatever you want, when it does exist life sucks.
