This is true, the far right does alienate many people .. which is one reason Ron Paul will never be a true Presidential contender, many Republicans cringe at his ideas.

However.. the far fringes of the Right Wing have been steadily growing, everywhere from the number of Libertarians and Constitutionalists to militant groups and Anarchist. People are waking up to the fact that big government means massive waste, big brother mentality, oppression, and a government that represents the views of the few minority to press upon the majority. Things like dead social programs that enable the poorest to mooch off our taxes for their entire lives, political correctness, wars of a aggression, destruction of states rights, internal espionage.. they are further the far-right's strength by slowly pushing more and more into that category.

I would love to see the GOP purged of it's ultra-Christian Socialist but I don't think it will ever happen. It will take a third party to steal 10% or more of the Republican voting base for any true effect to happen.

If this is considered the "gospel" of the day, then we are truly washed up and hopeless.

I almost cannot believe that this stuff is being taken seriously by anyone. But, it does show how many people can be fooled by a guy in a monkey suit with money.

Jesus wept.

I've hammered Beck a few times on these boards. I think his show has become a joke and he often stretches the truth or exagerates just to score points with viewers. So, I tend not to watch.

However, I caught about half of this speech over night. I think it came across significantly different than his show. It seemed well thought out and heart felt. There was a bit of theatre and progressive bashing. That being said a lot of what he said was true. The things he said about the right to fail was spot on. What he said about politicians needing to come to reality is true.

Beck said a lot of things that were true and that the average person can agree with. While I might not agree with him in the details, I think the concepts he brought up are pertinent and critical in these days.

"It seems to me that our government looks at the American people as the bad guy. We are not the bad guy, stop penalizing us."

There were parts of the speech I didn't like, but overall it was a powerful and necessary speech.

Here's your heartfelt Glenn Beck.

After watching this, you may have a different opinion.

So, there's your circus act right there. Keep that in mind when you think Glenn Beck gives a crap about anything that happens in this country.

Did you not "read" my comment? I said that he talks about a lot of things I agree with. But he is an actor making a career on theatrical fear mongering. He's a chicken little. He says most all the right things but if it looks like a duck, it's a duck.

Here's another example of Glenn Beck's credibility, or should I say the lack thereof.

If you believe this garbage after the many times he has been busted out, then you are grossly misled.

www.youtube.com...

www.youtube.com...

www.youtube.com...

He is an admitted liar, he clearly states that he is NOT an "investigative journalist and that he's a commentator," and does no fact checking on his show.

So...why should anyone with a brain take his little speech seriously???

Buddy you are being disingenuous. I am sure you know that those videos are of a photo-shoot Beck was doing for pictures for his book. He was making fun of himself for crying on the air, as you would know if you the articles and interviews when BECK released these videos of himself. These weren't hidden cameras friend. You act like they are preparing him for his show so he can cry on cue. Sorry but you purposefully give the wrong impression just to rip on Beck. That is completely intellectually dishonest on your part. How about you comment on the content of the speech.

The videos were of the photo shoot for this picture, which was of Beck making fun of himself:

Oh...I'M BEING DISINGENUOUS. Now that's hilarious. Glenn Beck fakes his emotions to the American people for a photo shoot and regularly sells this horse and pony show to the public, and I'm being disingenuous. WOW. WOW!!! Intellectually dishonest??? You're right, because I'm over here crying right now...but, not really.

And yeah...I really believe he was poking fun at himself. More like making money off people who would consume it like yourself.

Friend, go read the captions and comment Beck was making about that photo. The entire point of that photo was to make fun of himself and all those that give him crap for crying on the air. Beck faking crying for a photo shoot that is making fun of himself is no different than someone faking a smile for a photo shoot. They are no different. And again, I have yet to read you or the other Beck bashers comment at all on the content of the speech. I would guess you probably didn't take the hour to watch it, but if you did, how about you comment on the content point by point. Or are you saying that you are too mentally fragile to watch the speech and think for yourself, so you think Beck might brainwash you?

Here's some more fun stuff with Glen Beck losing his mind during a phone interview.

Yeah...we need THIS guy representing the American people. After you hear this, there shouldn't be any more conjecture about his intentions.

My friend, you can insult me all you like, it makes you look bad, not me. You went down that road before there was ever a need.

I have not addressed you in an insulting manner which really makes your case go awry here. I have heard the speech, but, why would I give credence to a speech in which one of Beck's followers (YOU) chose to behave the very way that he does???

If this is representative of his "movement," then I want nothing to do with it because its all based off of deceit.

What? the type of deceit you just pushed in your previous posts? Kinda hypocritical statement don't you think?

How am I insulting you? I keep asking you to comment on the content of his speech, and you won't. So that leaves two conclusions; you didn't watch it because you hate Beck so much you refused to, or, you didn't watch it because you are afraid of agreeing with Beck in someway. All you do is deflect deflect deflect. Someone asks you about the content of the speech, you rip on Beck. Someone comments on Beck, you post videos of him fake crying during a photo shoot, and misrepresent what is going on to give a false impression, I ask you to comment on the content of the speech and you say I am insulting you. So please, stop deflecting and comment on the content of speech point by point. If you dont agree with what he says in the speech, say why. Because you aren't commenting on the actual speech one single bit.

Yep...I pushed the deceit. Glenn caught lying on national television is my lie. Yep, Glenn doing photo shoots with him crying like he does when pushing his agendas on his shows...that was orchestrated by me. And, when he was clearly busted on "The view," in a boldfaced lie...I was actually behind the curtain pulling the strings while simulatanously wearing a Glenn Beck mask and answer Barbara Walter's and Whoopi Goldberg's questions. That was me as well. Oh, and when Glenn went nuts on that caller, that was my voice with a "voice enhancer," so I could imitate Glenn's voice. That was me as well. I'm good at the conpiracy...aren't I???

Thanks for showing me the err of my ways.

As far as I can tell, there was no content to his speech. I've heard the neocons AND liberals say that same garbage for 10 years or more. I've heard similar crap come out of the mouths of Barack Obama, George Bush, and all the other politicians that love to comment on the state of the world, the things that need to be changed, but do nothing about it.

He's just another guy getting a paycheck while the majority of this country suffers.

My work is done here. Enjoy.

Which facts are those?

Facts are facts by the way...they don't require qualifiers like"right" or "conservative" or "liberal" for that matter.

And yes I did watch the entire speech. It's an extrapolation on his recent theme of "Progressive" equals "Communist"...he's taken it further to now equate any change no matter how gradual (Evolution) as also communist.

For me he summed it up in his first 60 seconds when he said that Rush Limbaugh is his hero...

Beck is a sideshow, snake oil huckster. Nothing about him is genuine, and his frequent transposition of his addictive behaviour onto the politics of the USA is not the sort of thing one does when working seriously on recovery.

His tremendous character flaws should be worked out in therapeutic sessions away from the lights and the cameras and the smell of the crowd, but what does the USA get instead ... an addict trying to work his recovery by transferring his issues onto whatever the topic may be ... this time it is the Republican Party.

In USAmerican political history the only other figure that fills me with the same sense of revulsion is Bill Clinton ... another addictive personality who never took responsibility for himself or his actions.

Bill Clinton, George W Bush, Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh, Rahm Emmanuel, Pres. Obama ... all of them exhibiting signs of addictive personality disorders ... they make me wonder if the ratings and fascination with these characters is that same sort of fascination that cannot take one's eyes off of a car wreck when passing by.

If there is such a thing as a "Tea Party Movement" in the States, they need to bounce Beck to the curb and then they need to sign on to Ron Paul's 'Campaign for Liberty' within the Republican Party.

Glenn Beck is just another attention whore.

Ron Paul, on the other hand, is just the sort of principled public servant that the USA needs at this moment. But instead there is Beck emotionally stripteasing on the right side and on the left side there is Barry Obama doing a macabre bit of channelling of both General Macarthur as well as Woodrow Wilson ....
