Now i am not saying that this is definitly going to happen in 2012. I personally believe that if the "end of the world" is coming then we are not supposed to know of the exact date. I do believe however, that something big is going to happen very soon. Very soon could mean a year or it could mean 100 years (concidering how long humans have been about)

I think one of the most possible outcomes of human life on our planet ending is an Ice Age. People have been trying to blame other people for global warming for many years now. I'm not saying that humans have nothing to do with global warming. But for those of you that don't already know, Global warming is a natural occurence. The earth goes through cycles. It gets hotter and hotter for years then BANG .. Ice Age.

Now C02 emissions and all that rubbish thats being crammed into our heads has got something to do with Global Warming. The self destructive manner in which we live in does speed up global warming but it does not cause or create it.

If you look at this chart you will see that global warming is a natural occurance over many years which, each time results in an ice age.

So don't feel too guilty for what vehicle your driving or for leaving your plugs on.

Now to me Ice Age seems like a real possibility for "The end of the world". But not for the end of the earth, just as the end of the world as we know it.

This is the site i got the image of the graph from - www.priweb.org...
There is some more interesting information there aswell.

This is my second thread, i hope this hasn't been posted before and i hope that it is to a satisfactory level.

I am open to any constructive critisism about my thread making skills and obviously open to discussion about the issue.

Yes I do. But not in week or so.

Ice cores I've been told, show situations to change from hot to cold within a single decade.

That's like a rocket at full speed flying over your head on environment time scale.

Do to vulcanism, nuclear winter and the stop of motion from our conveyor belt bringing warmer water and with it warm air to Europe. This could lead in to a chain event.

Frosty ! Isn't

So what other disasters would an ice age bring?

I am not entirely sure on what the effects of an ice age would have on our earth apart from the obvious ones. I'm just wondering whether or not any natural disasters would occur thereafter.

Not more then a blizzard I think.

Society as we know it shots down. and living space will disappear.

Further in it I'm just as clueless as you

Either way it would be devastating. I'm sure that in the right conditions you could survive though.

Just that most people would die ;p

Sounds so bleak talking about the end of the world. Although it must be discussed at the end of the day

Well... We did survive an ice age before.

Only then we wer build for survival including strength, stamina and most important skills.

There are only a few people left who own enough skills. There is even less room left for thes skills put in to work.

Hunting and grow some weeds is hard in what used to cities full of concrete and asphalt.

Technology has ruined what truly matters to humans.. survival.
Which at the end of the day is essential.

Now we just rely on computers and easy access to food etc. We have completely lost touch of our "Hunter-Gatherer" skills apart from a select few people like you said.

The instinct is still there nonetheless but rather lies dormant.

Could you even imagine what would happen if only electricity shut down for months ?
What will happen in an ice age. Powerlines snap like twigs when they get to heavy.

Even the farmer with his cows, uses a computer to get them to a butcher.
This counts for everything in our lives. Transport routes. All is done by or with a computer. In the mean time we stop learning how to do it if all else fails. Like you already said.

Hmmm. what could happen in lets say an extreem Iceage
Most vegetables don't grow well in frozen ground.
Most vegetables dont grow below 32f
Typically, trees and plants dont grow at all in winter..
Now,...
Animals we eat are fed with corn, or some other type of grain or grass fed
and so if the ground is covered with snow,,, well you figure that one out.
Ok so no feed for the animals.
No plants to eat, of course you can have an indoor growing area.
No fruit trees either. Look what just happened in Florida.
I'd say it would be a great possibility that some would survive but the masses would die off.
I am ready,.. Are you?

I'm not ready yet thats why i'm joining the army. If you've got a chance of surviving anywhere then the army is one of those places. Even if you died in battle thats better than dying of starvation or of the cold. Or looters coming into your house and killing you.

Regardless of who is running the army and why i'd still rather be in it for when the time comes.

Certainly a good option
the military is actually where I obtained many survival tips.

Ok the army is a great place to learn these skills.

It's also the most likely place where your survival can be disrupted, do to not survive the army.

He dude !

I don't think your thread has anything to do with the thread from Watcher73.

His is about An ice age presented with info and the idea the NWO is causing it.

I think yours is about what could an ice age event would do to destroy the world.
I'm no mod of course but for me those are two different subjects. Only related by ice.

Do you think that "Cotching up" in a sturdy tall building with fireplaces and plenty of material to burn like in "The day after tommorow" could keep you alive?

I'm just wondering what kind of conditions people would be under, say if you had plenty of food and water stockpiled and plenty of warm clothes but just the shere cold killed you regardless of how well fortified you were?

You will be fine until all your books are burned or the chimney gets closed or so.

In reality we would have lots of time to walk to a warmer place and temperatures would probably not get so low to freeze on the spot.

However there are Mamoth remains found with undigested food in their stomach. This means they did rapidly froze. The weirdest thing is the plants found in the stomich are only found in a temporate climate.

Hopefully it wouldn't happen that quickly, that would be messed up.
If you knew it was going to happen you'd have to strike some kind of pose no doubt.

Not quite. Technology could well be our salvation. If it enables people to build bunkers or arks or whatever, and save whatever lifeforms from extinction, then technology, and humanity has served its purpose. I think people being hooked on tech is a side effect. The majority of people hooked on it would be dead even if they were not hooked, in a mass extinction.

I think that the if there really is an "elite", they are doing this, which is why they need all the resources and money they have, and everything else is just a side show while they save themselves.
