I find it interesting that Obama is also meeting the Dalai Lama today, it would be a stretch if China somehow orchestrated this as retaliation, however, it fits a Communist suicide bomber MO more so than a patriot tea party protester. All I'm saying is this guy does not sound like a tea party patriot. More like a disgruntled jihadist. This is starting to look staged to me.

I personally think that flying a plane into a building full of people trying to earn their paychecks is the definition of nutjob. Whilst it can be said that some of his thoughts are the same as many peoples; we have to remember that Hitler had a lot in common with PETA.

The FBI has removed the web site with his blog, this is not going to stand with me so forgive me while I go and spread this about the internet like a bad STD.

I do not agree with a darn thing you say, but you will get a star for that sentence.

I remember many arguments on here about the smoke on 911. I forgot to add the
emoticon.

that's what I'm thinking.

This guy hates the government/IRS, and so pulls his very own 9/11 on the government? Sounds like he is more an al qaeda than a constitutionalist. In fact he deplores the Founding Father's principles in his suicide letter.

This is not a good thing. I don't see how flying a plane into a building gets the point across that one is not a crackpot. Now anyone that speaks up against the government will be placed in the same crackpot group as this guy.

i think people should stop saying its a terrorist attack without any solid evidence. I mean, al-qaeda has a income of 5 billion every year, mostly from their drug trade so it could probably afford a bigger plane and a better pilot if it really wanted to blow up a building.

How anyone can condone or applaud this person's actions is abhorrent.

They are just employees for the IRS in that building. Probably making as much or less than you, with families, and lives, and trying to eke out a living. So it's "ok" to fly a plane at them, because you hate the organization?

Some of you really make me shake my head.

And of those IRS agents who are involved in ruining peoples lives on a daily basis, you feel they shouldnt suffer the consequences of their actions?

Read his suicide note and it becomes a little more clear. The only questions I have are:

Why is this not labeled as terrorism by the media and the law enforcement agencies? Why is this "not terrorist related?"

Is it because he is a white, non-Muslim guy from Texas? Is it only Muslim people from foreign countries that we want to label as "terrorists" so we can strip away their human rights?

i'm officialy disgusted by most people here.

Everyone is always crying about TPTB and big brother and bankers and all that, everyone needs to revolt, take on the street, but no one ever does jack.

This guy probably didn't have anyone with guts to actualy protest loud enough so he went and did what he did. Sad that innocent people would die but in any revolution there will always be deaths, its called colateral damage, get used to it

Stop pretending to be one thing then turn around and be an other. If bcs of this guy a revolution started and freed america and the world of the tyrany y'all would jump on the bandwagon!

Do you realize what you are saying, this is so clearly a terrorist attack, you know you don't have to be apart from Al - Qaeda to be a terrorist!

This guy set his house with his entire family inside before crashing his plane into the office building you know, this wasn't an accident.

How can this not be a terrorist attack.

His "manifesto" was pulled from the internet because most of the slaves in this country can relate in one way or another. Not condoning what he did, he just snapped. Leaving it on the internet would be nothing but kindling. Funny how all the "wingnuts" have a "manifesto".

My questions...

Did the building symmetrically collapse into it's own footprint?

No, for a building to collapse symmetrically into its own footprint at near free-fall speed would require pre-planted explosives, like the kind that were used in WTC7.

Wrong. Family wasn't at home.

Secondly, by definition sure - he's a terrorist. He is one of the "domestic terrorists" that they warned us about months ago. Fear... fear... scare... evil... terrorist.

One man's terrorist is another man's patriot. He's a patriot to me.

Why do ATS members jump onto this, speculating before all of the facts are in?

It's interesting to have heard the APD Officer, in the local news conference in Austin, TX (about 1135 local CDT) lambaste certain members of the media for speculating, early on, as "irresponsible"!!

I applauded him!

Anyway, the guy (Joseph Stack) certainly appears to be nothing more than a deranged sociopath, with an axe to grind against the IRS.

Most telling, as to his state of mind (or lack) is that he set his OWN HOUSE on fire!! With his wife and child inside!!!

Total whackjob....(fortunately, neighbors helped rescue the wife and kid...)

I don't believe in hell, but IF it exists, this guy deserves a spot....

The guy was obviously unstable. Doubt this was staged or there was any kind of conspiracy behind this.

Just another wacko who got his 15 minutes of fame.

if this guy had built a bomb and set it off remotely....no doubt they would call this a terrorist attack. However, since he is dead...and there are no other apparent co-conspirators...there is no further threat (presumably); therefor, officials are downplaying this to minimize fears of a repeat attack.

just a thought

Nope you are Wrong

Joseph Andrew Stack left a Suicide note, set his home on fire, (With wife & Daughter Inside!!), drove to Airport, Stole a single engine, turboprop Cirrus Plane and proceeded to fly and crash it into an IRS Office Building in Austin, Texas

It also has his entire suicide note here....

Full Suicide note :

If you’re reading this, you’re no doubt asking yourself, “Why did this have to happen?” The simple truth is that it is complicated and has been coming for a long time. The writing process, started many months ago, was intended to be therapy in the face of the looming realization that there isn’t enough therapy in the world that can fix what is really broken.

Needless to say, this rant could fill volumes with example after example if I would let it. I find the process of writing it frustrating, tedious, and probably pointless… especially given my gross inability to gracefully articulate my thoughts in light of the storm raging in my head. Exactly what is therapeutic about that I’m not sure, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

Read the rest here

and how you can call him a patriot is truly beyond me

hmmm, kinda interesting that they have no record of anyone with that name having a pilots license. I wonder how common it is for someone to own a plane and not have a license.

Actually, the database doesn't include pilots whose medical certificates have expired, so it's possible he did have a license but an expired medical.

The guy who crashed the plane is a terrorist. He is the epitome of a domestic terrorist. Why is it you have to be a foreigner to be called a terrorist?
