I don't think Zippy is a connection. NotThat didn't play with Zippy. She was an adult. I just commented on the Zippy doll because I thought that was what inspired your "name."

About New Zealand, that whole thing is just weird. Don't worry about admitting that. The grey room is pretty crazy and I'm admitting that, aren't I?

I also remember hearing Nelson Mandela dying in prison. Now I was a kid when I heard it, but apartheid was going strong then. That was around the time when people in the U.S. were talking about boycotting South African products. I was shocked when I later heard he was coming out of prison.

I'm wondering if the same people hearing messages are the same ones who know New Zealand is in the wrong space. I do not want to start too many threads, but maybe THAT is a connection? What do you think?

No, I don't think the Zippy thing is a connection at all...but I am sure stranger things have happened.

You know, there are ALOT of people on here that remember New Zealand being in a different place. Now THAT is weird. I don't remember another thread like that New Zealand one on ATS and I have been here a long time. It may be a connection or not....who knows??

No, I totally enjoyed your response.
I was alittle confused because waiting mentioned something about her mother and I thought, because I don't know too much about waiting2, that she was your mom, or you were her mother or something.
ohh? I guess your her friend she mentioned moved to live closer to her.

off topic/not directed at you two: It really annoys me when someone who doesn't know about an experience takes advantage of someone elses' hightened sensitivity only to pretend they know what is really going on, just so they can find out what is really going on for themselves.

I wrote to waiting about how cool I thought it was that she had ATS to try and find other people who were there as well, or share the experience.
You and she are good sports, keep being positive and strong.

I'll favorite the thread. 75% of the history channel ufo hunter episodes are pretty good and worth a watch. They are on youtube and historychannel.com to watch. I own the dvd's.
I like this stuff and my friends don't even know youre lucky. Anyway, Ill try to keep up with the thread the best I can, and post from time to time to keep it up on the board, though I can't force people to be interested.

I definitely thank you guys. Were it not for this thread, I might have never thought of that "dream" again. Perhaps if I think about it and am open to returning they'll give me another chance to return. Just thinking about that corridor sends chills up my spine, not for fear, but, from the hope that it was real and not simply a misconstrued dream.

You said you have found two other people that have been in the grey room? Did you learn anything by talking with those people, or did they have any idea why they were there?

NotThat and I were afraid that our different voices commenting were somehow derailing the thread. We even discussed creating separate threads or not writing as much for a while. It's good to hear from you that our separate voices are not distracting.

NotThat is my mother. When you have an experience with your mother, you want to find other people who are not your mother. It somehow makes the experience more valid. You know what I mean? To answer your question, NotThat moved closer to me.

I know what you mean about some people pretending. At this point, I'm just glad the message is getting out. I know there are others who have experienced the same thing but have thought they were just crazy. I'm lucky because NotThat was there with me. I could talk to her about everything. It made me feel less crazy. Not everyone has that blessing.

Thanks for complimenting us for being positive and good sports. I could say the same about most of you.

You said you can't force people to be interested in the thread. I think the vast majority of people won't/can't hear us anyway. It's hard to describe, but it's like they just gloss over what we say. That's okay. There are people who can hear. I'm interested to find out what else they can hear to see if we're all hearing the same thing.

I think just knowing about that place is important. I honestly do not know what I will do if I am there again. I do not know if it is a good thing or a bad thing, but I am leaning toward a good thing because everthing felt positive.

A few others in this thread suggested that I was "allowed" to see the non-humans because I was allowed to keep the memory. I don't think so. They didn't expect that I would see them...maybe like they expected I was incapable?? I think it surprised and impressed them.

I do not know if I would be willing to return to a place that terrified me. You are much braver than I am!
Perhaps you can somehow communicate that you are willing to go again as long as it is not so scary.
Does that make any sense?

NotThat spoke to one. She can answer her question. I met the other.

The one I met told me that she also stood speaking to a small group of people. She described the room in a similar way. She also had a bag. She was also excited. She knew she had a job to do but didn't know what it was. She also was waiting.

That's why I finally started this thread. I am looking for more answers than what I already know.

What kind of tests were they?

Everyone had a bag packed with one change of clothes. Where was everyone going, what were they doing?

Thank you for this thread.

Thank you for this thread.

Notice I never said what was in the bag. I just said I packed lightly. What was in yours besides one change of clothes?

I don't know where we were going. As for what we were doing, I described that earlier in the thread. Some of the tests were also described earlier: getting rid of attachments/possessions was one of them.

Thank you for asking!

By the way, I love Paul Simon!

I am very much enjoying your thread and hope more respond.

I must apologize if my pragmatic attitude is off putting - a bit.

I don't want to dampen your excitement.

It's been so long - 63 years - that I've been experiencing "connections" - - I no longer feel any emotions or wonderment - - - it just "is what it is".

As I said - it does follow in families. I am now working with my grandchildren to be open to accepting what may seem beyond this physical world.

I would only caution on projection. Projecting what you want something to be - rather then just accepting what it is.

Familiarity can be deceiving.

Annee, I agree with everything you said above. Pragmatism is a good thing. Thanks for the cautionary reminder!

I have accepted something weird happened. I also know we may never get answers. But, it's still worth a try!

Just opening up about my own experiences is helping others come to terms with their own experiences. That's a good thing. I'm also relieved to be finally talking about this so openly. It's been quite helpful for me.

Yes - considering that my experiences (memories) began as a young child of 5 - - way back in 1951 - - when No One talked about this stiff.

I full understand getting it out for yourself and others.

Thank you. I have enjoyed your posts. I look forward to your returns.

Thanks, also, for the TV info. I had dish set up last month - the first time I have had TV since 1996. I will check those stations out.

I am glad a negative experience has been changed into a positive one. Thank you for your imput.

Interesting read. Sounds to me like one giant metaphor - you were being shown that you don't really have free will, that everything is controlled or destined by other forces, but when you questioned those other things - they showed themselves.

You made it quite clear that the "I have free will" period of your lives was a major factor. I think your experience was just part of the answer to that question. And maybe it was more for your friend than it was for you, but you are the questioner - so you got more of a behind the scenes tour.

Good luck in finding your other folks!

And for the record, I absolutely shat myself in my flat the other night thanks to your thread - worrying I was going to go to a grey room when I was simply trying to get to my bathroom. No joke. It's quite a terrifying thought!

I did a pretty intensive search. I wrote/talked to anyone I could find who said anything that sounded like it could be similar to me. In general those I talked to were kind but few were helpful.

Something I said struck a cord with someone who knew someone else. She agreed to send a letter to a young woman who had also been in a grey room. I wrote and got a response something like - yea, that was what it was like. Same room.

She was a missionary in China during a time when it was physically dangerous to be talking about God. She said it was too dangerous to continue coresponding with me. The experence sent her off to China.

Thank you for this thread.

The tests were small. You do one then there would be another. It was a process of learning to hear/feel the voice. At first the voice was very loud and the need to do things very strong, but the process became more subtle over a period of weeks. The tests/tasks were already mentioned.

Everyone had a bag. Mine had one change of clothing. I do not know what other people had in their bags. We were going somewhere to do a job. Every group was going to a different place. We would live there and everything we would need would be provided. I do not know where the place was nor what the job was to be.

I was in total shock when I ended up back home. Perhaps it was a trial run.

Umm, thanks, I think.

Actually, the grey room was not scary. It was fun and exciting and happy. I was very pleased to be there. I had earned the right to be there. It was like graduation night.

I looked over the room and saw all the excited people talking about how excited they were to be there. It was a wonderful moment. We were off on an adventure.

What was scary was coming home and saying "What the f*** was that?!!" Perhaps I actually did the adventure and only remember the grey room part.

Interesting thought. A rat in the cage working toward a big chunk of cheese. There is always a % of the test population that does not have an acceptable response and are elliminated from the study. I think kids had an unacceptable response and were therefor not included.

However, I remember agreeing. To "my will be done" I said "OK".
