Sure, I will U2U you her info.

As a sidepoint.. Western women feel it is necessary to work or else they are "worthless and dumb".. This is social programming at its finest.

We are all just humans, we should not define ourselves by our jobs in society. They are just jobs. They are not "who we are", they are "what we do". We should work to live, not live to work.

That has nothing to do with religion. They aren't being told to work or face the wrath of god.

That example is nonsense. Before the 20th century the majority of folks lived on family farms, had no cars, no telephone, no TV, etc. Their lives where completely different.

The difference is the materialist nature of people today. You want to live simply? Move to a small town where you can have one car and downsize your life. If you want to live in a place where you need to spend $300K or more on a house, have two cars, etc and you can't afford it on a single salary, and your wife needs to work, then you are making a choice. The same is the case for moving. If its too expensive to live where you live, move.

Not true. Majority of the population in united states was still living in cities, or rural areas, but not substance farming. The value of house prices was half as much because there was only 1 income in the family to buy it with.

Even now, do you know the value of farmland? It's crazy high and unaffordable now too. It didn't used to be, even on 1 person's income

Secondly, do you really think telephones and TVs are expensive? Our major costs are food and housing, today. Cheap cars can be bought used, which work fine, if you want.

Cars were insanely expensive when first invented, even used, but every one up until 1940s was bought on a single income. The price of 1 car was equal to the price of 10 used cased today, yet many still afforded them. People didn't have 30-50 year mortgages, that's for sure.

Moving can find cheaper housing, yet the price of those houses has doubled as well because women work everywhere.

This is the greatest scheme of the bankers, to make you believe that you have true freedom, when in reality you are a debt slave forced into spending your life working for nothing except survival. Now they have tricked women that this is the best way to live as well.

Really? I have never felt that way. Nor, dare I say, have many other Western women.

I'm a teacher, and I work with special needs children. I also work with families and parents, showing them how to help their children through various developmental phases. I'm currently pursuing a doctorate in psychology of education.

I do this because I truly love it, and I'm darn good at it. I make a difference in the lives of those I teach and work with.

I agree we are more than our jobs... but for some of us lucky few, our jobs are also a large part of who we are. I define myself as a

  1. mother
  2. wife
  3. teacher
  4. educator
  5. daughter/sister
  6. friend

in that order.

When did I say it had to do with religion? I said it was social programming on Western society, to benefit the global bankers and corporations, as well as Uncle Sam (twice the people to tax).

On the other hand, nothing in Islam said that women should not work or else face the wrath of God. The woman who I interviewed currently holds a job, and almost all women in Egypt go to university, cause its practically free. If they want to work after marriage, that is their choice. Nothing in Quran or Hadith says they will be judged negatively for that. Instead you chose to fabricate things in your mind or rely on propaganda.

I am sorry but your "interview" is a "best case scenario" And is no better than saying the "worst case scenarios " that make the papers of stonings, burying alive, being punished for being raped etc... is normal everywhere.

The fact remains, that as long as reports of atrocities against woman continue and the perpetrators claim religious "reasons" for the crimes, my opinion of Muslims who promote that behavior in any way will not change. And promoting the Burqa is one of those things.

I take exception to the OP and its provable veracity.

Let's talk about Coptic women who are raped by Muslim men and forced to convert on pain of death. This sort of violence against women by Muslim men is told and retold throughout the Muslim world where there is a minority Christian population.

When Islam starts producing men who respect the rights and dignity of Christian women, then I will be willing to discuss working together. Until that time, I have no use for Islam or the many cultures subjugated by its relentlessly brutal praxis.

Let's talk numbers then.

Since you think muslim women are having a hard time in their societies then please present some convincing analytical or empirical studies that abuse is widespread.

Also present comparison with western counter parts.

It's time to stop ejaculating CNN FOXNews brainwashing trash and present some real evidence that muslim women from across the world are under extreme hardship by their male partners.

Let's see the empirical evidence that women are abused. Your type have made the accusation now support it!

Support it, like your thread of the same type? I'm sorry, in order to do that we'd have to answer every question with a question, insult other religions not in the OP, and insult and be rude to anyone we disagree with.....I for one am better than that.

No matter how many threads or how you word it if you dress a pig up it is still a pig. The Muslim world has serious issues with women's rights and to say otherwise is a bold face lie.

Lets take a look at countries where the main religion is Islam.

Does a woman have property rights?

Can a woman vote?

Do very young girls get married?

Can a woman divorce her husband?

Can a woman be killed if she is not faithful?

Can a woman be killed if she is rapped?

Do women have the same rights under the law?

Are women considered property?

I would like to know the answers to these questions to get a better view of the truth I would appreciate answers to them in a logical way thank you

Must we have two Muslim apologist threads going on at the same time, on the same subject?

Is there a way to merge the 2 Muslim apologist threads, and have just 1 Muslim apologist thread?

Or would someone like to make a 3rd Muslim apologist thread on this same subject?

I think we are seeing not only normal posters but maybe professional one's as well. I have run across some posts that are just to weird and from very new members. I hate to think anything funny is going on but I will not stick my head in the sand either. I am glad for one thing it is hard to prove something that is a lie and the facts just don't back up what you are saying.

If you grow up in any culture, things traditional to that culture will seem right to you. however, that doesn't make them right. If your parents have physically abused you all your life, you will grow up believing that is how to control children. If you grow up seeing other women wearing traditional garb, when you grow up you will want to wear traditional garb. Just because you want to wear it doesen't make itthe right thing to do.

Excuse me but even IF they WANT to then what gives YOU the right to dictate what they can or cannot wear?

I say freedom should be given for people to dress how they like - if they want to look like ninja or the Yeti who cares? Why are you so bothered by it? Is it really because you just hate them and you want to criticise them any chance you get?

I think I'm going to bring up the education level and deaths of Women before and AFTER the US invasion of Iraq just to show how the WEST are the ones really doing the damage to women!

Just typical they blame it on someone else.

I think it's wonderful that she is sharing her views and in fact agree with alot of them.. but I do not think people who are opposed to full burkas are just being bigoted against muslims or are assuming they are extremists. It is very natural to want to see someone's face when you are talking to them.. but not to be able to see their eyes is taking away at least 50% of communcation. It is not because I am assuming someone is an extremist that I feel uncomfortable.. I recieve alot of information via face and eye language and to not be able to see them is very disconcerting and feels unnatural. It is also feels impolite and disrespctful being denied the advantage of seeing who I am speaking to. They can see me and it creates a power imblance. People avoiding women wearing full burkas might be just doing so because it's very awkward and they do to know how to talk to them. Last time I tried I found myself leaning forward straining to see her eyes because I not looking someone in the eyes actually feels rude.

I am not saying they are intentionally being impolite but I think disregarding a culture where seeing eyes is the basis of all in person interactions is intolerent in itself.

btw. I have no problem with being able to see someone's face at least. I do not care if people cover their hair that doesn't effect me whatsoever.

I will dig them up.

But look at this first:

"As of late 2006 nearly 70% of Iran's science and engineering students are women.[20]"
en.wikipedia.org...
www.nature.com...

Look how those dirty filthy barbaric muslims treat their women! I mean nearly 70% in science and engineering!?!? DOing a man's job!?! WTH.

I think we need US to come in and set things right with depleted uranium and the works.

Hold on....Isn't all that the rhetoric that we hear from our beloved parents (TV and MSM).

Hooray! We are going to free Muslim women persecution in Iran ! No MORE education or Working!!!!!
