Iran Announced they are now a nuclear nation, congratulations

Yes, this would be excellent. If Iran is now nuclear capable, it means we won't be invading them.

Best sign that WW3 can be avoided I've seen in years.

can anyone else see what has happened?

Iran said they are now nuclear, in other words, they can power up their power plants.
People assume that saying that you are now nuclear means you have the bomb.

disinfo everywhere people, and sometimes this disinfo is perpetrated by people who think they are doing and saying the right thing.

Check this out from the Korean herald (N.Koreas first nuke test)

"South Korean and U.S. institutes said they detected a 4.4-4.7 magnitude earthquake at a depth of 10 kilometers underground about 375 kilometers northeast of Pyongyang, according to the Korea Meteorological Administration and the U.S. Geological Survey."

www.koreaherald.co.kr...

the same parameters as Iran. 20% enriched uranium is enough for a crude nuke that could mimiv N.Koreas first half successful test. add in the Feb. 11 thing and most Iranian web sites being down and it my add up to legit test

Man.. some people I tell ya. Okay let me clear up few thing..

- Iran already has nuclear missiles = What do you think happened to 100s of nuclear missiles going missing after cold war? Who do you think bought some of that? Who is supporting Iran nuclear ambitions? So let's use common sense.. stop falling for this propaganda created by west media.

- If Iran wanted to use it's nuclear missile, it would have by now! It is NOT in their intention to invade any other country! If it wanted it already would have, with US putting sanction of Iranian people for the last 30 years. They survived decently till now, they will tomorrow.

- Iran has the most powerful influence over middle east, what do you think will happen if anyone attacks Iran?.... WW3! It will no longer be between Iran and say.. US/Israel, it will be MIDDLE EAST (including Russia/China) vs. US/Israel as they'll know they will be next. They will not let that happen for their own sake.

- Lastly, what's so "hard to believe" when I say it could be some device like HAARP? Is it so far fetched? China/Russia have both been doing weather modifications for decades, with all this technology today (not considering how far military technology) is it so far fetched that some device like HAARP can be used to create chaos on an area? Chaos allows US to invade and replace key figures, that's how they have been controlling so many countries. Do you think it's an accident that these weather chaos has been happing to poorer and populated parts of the world?! Do you not see US soldiers already overwhelming Haiti? Illuminates goal of reducing human population to 500 isn't so far off with these type of technology.

Anyhow my 2cent, based on some conspiracy (which is usually more plausible then what we're fed through media) and common sense!

I believe it was a nuke test.. What are the chances of Iran saying the are going to punch US in the mouth. To me I think that was the punch in the mouth. How many times must we go down the road with these guys. Even if we detected a detonation you think we we put it in the media. Never!

This is just unsound logic. The earth's plates moving together do not cause earthquakes. It was HAARP. The government is trying to destroy Iran's nuclear supplies.

Edit to Add: Maybe Iran Photoashopped the earthquake? They fooled seismologists with a quick Photoshop and Adobe Flash.

Diplomats: Iran advancing nuclear program
Country reportedly would be able to test a weapon within 6 months

"VIENNA - Iran is blocking U.N. nuclear agency attempts to upgrade monitoring of its atomic program while advancing those activities to the stage that the country would have the means to test a weapon within six months, diplomats told The Associated Press Friday"

www.msnbc.msn.com...

this article writen july 17 falls within the 6 mo. deadline of today.
i think there are too many coincidences

If I may, so if this was a test, then perhaps the 5.2 near Crete shortly afterwards, was a targeting miss, an overshot perhap's.... Trying to get those missle's dialed in.... C'mon Man????

I would have to say because they don't do that. Look up "expanding planet". The earths plates expand away from each other. Not rub together or sink under one another. They expand as the planet grows.

... I am just ignoring this one .

I hope we get more HAARP/Photoshop theories like this!

Sooo ... Did I miss the explanation of how these tests went undetected by the world ? (minus ATS brightest noticing there was a earthquake that obviously means nuke tests .. obviously)

Iran earthquakes wiki

Yeah... everyone just ignore the boring old data.

How many times has there been nuclear talk in regards to Iran in recent years? A lot. You think there wasn't another quake to coincide with those events as well? Highly doubtful.

Iran does get natural earth quakes all the time. I think this is pure coincidence, that this occured on Feb 11. Iran won't be testing their nukes on their own soil they would be testing it on Isreal. I think if HAARP made that earthquake it would have to be somewhere that devestates hundreds of thousands, millions of people. Like Haiti's.

But interesting that you brought up that as a possibility. As a hint, if the media brings up a topic like that for more than just a couple of days, then you know something is up. Then I will change my mind, but I'm taking this one with a grain of salt for now.

The United States and the western world in general have completely missed an oppurtunity to assist Iran into 21st century power development. Instead of placing sanctions on the nation, we should have sent scientists over there to assist in the development of nuclear power in a responsible way. This would allow Iranians to see that we 'the western world' are willing to allow them to join us at the nuclear table. Yet at the same time we must place them on a nuclear proliferation initiative allowing their government to lead a task force pushing for decreasing the nuclear stockpile. This would show we are supportive of Iran and at the same time allowing them to take the lead on some key regional nuclear issues.
The blowback from this would be in our favor as it would garnish American support from the old generation of Iranian's and instill in it a pro-western viewpoint for the next generation. This would set us up for a co-opt plan of attack into the 21st century power crisis.

Spectacular post my friend. I agree wholeheartedly with what could have been a very advantageous partnership for the whole world. Makes me wonder why in the world all of those think tanks that we utilize to make decisions haven't come close to budging our current mind set. There is another agenda being pursued.

Edited to add my thoughts on the actual topic at hand. Sorry about that. Anyway, I do not believe it was a nuclear test.

If I could've starred you again for sending me to that post I would have. Thanks for the heads up. I really think it may have been normal seismic activity in that area. Is there any data that could back that up?

PLEASE NOTE:

The OP subject and the subsequent debate are not exclusive in nature. As a matter of point, this is an Alternative theory website and given certain perspectives it is not necessary to degrade or otherwise disrespect the alternative view, and certainly not the fellow ATS member.

The price of that privilege is respecting the OP's intent.

In this case the discussion of the possibility or likelihood that Iran's having detonated a nuclear weapon.

Avid conspiracy theorists should grant that the discussion can deviate wildly from the subject. But stay on topic and that takes care of itself. Not every post rates a response.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just to show I'm not taking sides let me add this myself.

Nuclear capability is (at this moment) only of strategic value. Iran seeks a larger portion of respect than it's been getting; pursuit of the capability is only a logical step for them. The west has traditionally attempted to de-incentivize the pursuit through negative pressure. However, the Iranian people have hardened themselves to the pressure; that much is evident.

I think that in order to achieve the goal of MAD you must be willing to publicly admit you've got the means. SO I don't think it would be a secret for long.

So whether they did this or not is a reasonable question. But why not proclaim it? A vulnerability perhaps? Something else?

I suspect that once the seismic data is fully collated and analyzed we will know the answer..., that is ..., someone will know.

Im not 100% convinced it was a nuke. But, BUT, if you were going to test one, you would test it in the mountains, far away where earth quakes occur.

If not only to hide the fact, but also to put doubt in peoples minds.

Also, those who believe Iran would test/strike a nuke on Israel really need to grow up and read some books. Do you pretend to be so stupid? or does it come naturally?

i agree with the last part of the post. you dont "test a nuke" in an offensive manner you test it to test it. using it on isreal would defeat the purpose of a "test".

as for the the first part of your post i disagree. the best way to test would be in the mountains next to fault lines to hide it. you dont want it to be too obvious when isreal and the U.S want to attack u for developing the bomb. so you remain clandestine so u can work out the bugs before the bombs start falling
