The American Gov did produce an electric car then promptly had them crushed.

EV1 crushed

[edit on 10/2/2010 by SvenTheBerserK]

Not to go off topic, but if you would click your own link, you would find that it was General Motors, the company who created the car, that had them destroyed. You should watch the documentary, because it is in fact very good. Even with all the evidence, the forces behind destroying the EV1 can not be pinpointed. You can blame the Government all you want, but there is so many issues from across the board that you can't point a finger at any one figure.

But props to Iran if they've got a oil industry car killer. What will their Arab friends in the Emrites say?

It is still only about 6am 11/02/10 in Tehran right now...
...the day hasn't even got started yet.

Tehran is GMT +3.30

They didn't get out of bed early so ATS's could get an exclusive.

I must admit that this might not be the announcement, but it probably is.

I just hope they go for one more solid announcement. They have been nuclear defying all week, then this, then one more thing would just round it out nicely at a triple whammy.

But who knows...

It does make war-mongering Israel look kind of like a bully now though.

I actually think that there is a lighter side of things coming on in the world. The news station RT is especially intriguing lately... They portray Iran well too.

Ya , RT does some things funny.

Like ask questions, and let the guest answer them.

Report the news , and not the slant.

Hmm, everyone has been all over Iran like white on rice..

TPTB may just go ahead and ensure their demise for playing unfair on the global oil market.

then again, it's early in the ball-game.. anything is possible at this point, wouldn't you agree?

Yeah, did you notice the bright green banner at the top of the main page that says 'Question More.'

Almost too good...

But I think it is a good sign. Hopefully

Yeah anything goes, unless it is all carefully planned... which a lot of it is probably anyways.

But I think we are starting to see beneath the skin of the beast, seeing the players now instead of the board.

At least I hope, it would suck to find out AGAIN that everything is an illusion. I already did that once.

If this is "it" I don't see how anyone could possibly be disappointed.
I think it's wonderful.

I'm pleased not only because of what it is, but because of the many things it could have been, but isn't.

Whew.

Still several hours left before the 12th.
I am certain that this isn't "it".

Iran isn't the first country to own an electric car, nor its the first one to make it affordable.

All over europe countries are giving incentives to car brands to build green cars and develop electric technology.

In the US you still have cars that are insanely "drunk" for gas.

But here in Europe, we have low-consumption/electric cars for years.

From BMW to Toyota.

Even Aston Martin is making a small, low-consumption car.

This isn't the "punch", in a way that it doesn't even matter to the automotive economy, let alone the world economy.

Actually? it is a punch.

he made the announcement. The results? Israel and the U.S. started air-humping and salivating and looking like the warmongering tits that they are.

And it's a little dinky sedan that has good mileage on its battery.

How much money do you think the Us and Israel collectively spent "preparing" under the expectation that Iran was about to nuke Tel Aviv or something? These two nations are looking kind of idiotic right now.

Okay, maybe it's not so much a punch as it is a magnificent pimp-slap...

I certainly hope this is the "big announcement" touted on here for the past few days.

Reminds me of a cartoon showing the beach only this time the nerd is kicking sand in the face of the buff bullys!

The car may be not pretty but it seems a practical design: it recharges in 15 minutes. From what I've read about other electric car designs this is very low and makes the car practical for normal use.

It is not that big an announcement as I was expecting but it is clearly an slap in the face to the PTB and all the fear mongering about Iran in the media.

EDIT: This electric car news is from Feb 10, so it should not be the big announcement. I am checking the iranian news agency.

An electric car, is our great big punch that will stun the WORLD..

Whatever we have electric cars, PV solar panels, and an array of other EXPENSIVE as crap alternative and primative green technology..

I don't understand why we even pay attention to these idiots..

Not even in our league.

An electric car..
Sounds like a Saturday Night live skit..

That sporty Tesla car..... $100,000.
Yeah.
That is the one that is going to change the world.

Not to mention the fact that the electric car is going to go down in history as the biggest cause of pollution.
