After all the back and fro about whether or not it was an alien craft that terrorised the town that morning, we are forgetting the most prominent question to ask out of all of this and that is:

If it was indeed an alien craft in 1970, what were they doing in ethiopia and what have they been doing since then?

like all reports of history we have to take statements in to account seriously to build an impression of the scene. Isn't that what history books are full of in the schools?

1970 - At 11:30 a.m. in Saladare, Ethiopia a red glowing ball of fire swept through the village, destroying houses, uprooting trees, and melting asphalt. It seemed to hover in place and then back-tracked. It caused eight serious injuries and the death of a little girl.

If this is true, then show me some form of technology back then that could hover, change direction, uproot trees and melt asphalt

About the heat...what about the incident in England where three US military guys were within a few feet of a craft and one of them said he touched it? no one was burned.

Where are you guys getting your facts on ET tech?

I second that, every member should have the chance to read that thread therefore, IMHO that thread should be stickied. Does anyone know how I can add that to my favourite thread part on the profile page? its asking for a number?

i can find no evidence to suggest that the photo in question is even related to the event other than the fact that it was paired with the thread. yes i do agree that it does not appear to be "melted" but thats a rather moot point when we cant even verify the authenticity of the photo at hand.

Unfortunately, eyewitness testimony is often times very unreliable.
Especially when it comes to points of light in the sky.

I agree that the account is odd, but honestly I could see a meteor being a possible cause of this event.

Not saying it is, but I really don't like the way this case was reported.

But now I'm going to have to go back and look at the possibility of this event happening at an alternate location.
I would bet hard cash that there isn't a "forest" within 5 miles of where those pictures took place. Yet it was reported as such.
Fishy.

Like I said, there is nothing to link the "trace evidence" to the sighting.

re: the culvert. Note the concrete edging the ditch on the left side of the frame. Note the concrete post. Ditch + concrete = reasonable assumption of a culvert under the road but the culvert isn't even necessary to form a pothole. Does that look like a "melted edge" of the asphalt paving to you?

What makes you think you know more than the eye witnesses?.
I have seen this covered by mainsrream TV with witness interviews and what these pictures don't show you is the damage done throughout the village.
The photos above are from a larger series documenting the damage from the entry point into the first house which was a fairly neat hole in the entry wall and it almost destroyed the side of the house it exited through.
The four year old child was inside a house when she was killed after a wall fell on her.
The destruction involved all of the houses set along the road to one degree or another, the eyewitnesses i heard were there when it happened.
I believe the witnesses were being honest, something did singlehandedly destroy almost the entire village in about 30 seconds, killing one person.

Once again, the Electric Universe theory explains everything. This was ball lightning, a type of lightning that mainstream science has no explanation for. The ditch is carved out smoothly, with scalloped edges, yet with no debris. Where is all the dirt and pavement from the ditch? Electric discharge machining will vaporize the debris. There are similar scars called "Rilles" all over the Moon, Mars, Mercury, Europa, et al. Look at this picture

thunderbolts.info...

of a rille on Mars and see how similar it looks.

Ball lightning would appear as a floating, glowing ball. It could double back on itself and then disappear. It could melt nearby metals through induction. It could blow holes through the walls of buildings in its way. It could carve out a clean ditch with scalloped edges and no debris. Think of a giant, floating welding arc, but a thousand times stronger. What do you think it would do?

There have been many cases of lights in the sky and then fuseboxes etc exploding. Someone posted one above, there are many more.

Hello everyone..
I know better than to debate with most any of you guys...that said..

I do not wish to debate this, I just need to ask if anyone besides JaynAR has seen what happens to blacktop/paved road/chip and seal after it has had extreme heat applied, ie...car fire, gas fire in drive way, or for a good comparison a camp fire on pavement.
The oils and compounds that hold it together, burn up, or flow away, much like wax in a candle, leaving mostly the "base" rock or filler agent used in such roads.
After the bonding oils/tar is gone, the left over road, looks the same, "besides a little dis-coloring" and becomes very brittle and crumbles.

But hey I'm just stating this due to a "hot spot" in my driveway, that I can say got very hot, and then became a pothole/damaged area.

ETA...To say it melted...yeah it looks like it did, the oils/tar ran off the side of my driveway.

Was it in flight at the time? If not, heat will naturally dissipate when the exterior is no longer carrying a current. Take a look at the induction coil for example.

This is exactly what I thought.. Ethiopia, why? Hardly a happening spot is it... unless of course Ethiopia happens to be home to the back door that leads to inner earth with its thousands of resident alien species!

This is why I never base any opinions on eyewitness testimony. Because courts seem to unjustifiably hold a lot of stock in eyewitness testimony, people automatically assume it is reliable, when it really isnt.
Google's positively overflowing with articles & studies that have been done to prove it isnt reliable.

Interesting the induction.

I have energized with such oscillations a loop of heavy copper wire so powerfully that masses of metal, and even objects of an electrical resistance specifically greater than that of human tissue, brought close to or placed within the loop, were heated to a high temperature and melted, often with the violence of an explosion, and yet into this very space in which this terribly destructive turmoil was going on I have repeatedly thrust my head without feeling anything or experiencing injurious after-effects.

From doc download "The Problem of Increasing Human Energy"
tesla.hu...

Just saying if the craft used some special wave generator then
heating effects can occur.

As Vicki reached for the door handle, her hand was burned. She then use a part of her plastic jacket to open the door, and it was melted. She still had the damaged jacket when I interviewed her. Vicki’s hand print was still burned into the dashboard of the car, where she touched it inside. Only microwaves or electrical induction could have heated the car so rapidly and only penetrating radiation, such as ultraviolet, gamma or X-ray, could have caused the radiation sickness and resultant hair loss suffered by all parties, including Betty Cash, who didn’t even leave the car.

www.bibliotecapleyades.net...

Molecules heat up as in microwave ovens but I don't see any
bubbling of the roadway.

There was Vicki Landrum thread on ATS and someone traveling on
the road said road repairs were going on at night.

Never mind, it's just bumping another thread and not worth commenting on.

You lost me at that point.

Public knowledge of such technologies is limited but we can trace them back to Tesla's electrostatic balloon and Thomas Townsend Brown's electrogravitics research(1960).

UFO space craft are top secret because of the revolutionary implications of cold fusion energy generation, nano-tech, super alloys, and ion propulsion. If you want answers, research cold fusion(also known as LENR or CANR) and ion propulsion(electrogravitics) for a start.

UFO cases go back even further than 1970:

i found that "message" a little to odd, i mean "This website has been removed due to confidentiality. Thank you for understanding." That just screams coverup.. someone was getting a little to close for comfort. I made a few attempts to find out who had hosted the site, why it was taken off line, etc. Nothing..

The only thing that i found was this video and that was as simple as googling the site and checking the info below was was listed..

ufophysical.com...://ufophysical.com/images/stories/videos/MPEG2%20Stream.fl v&showdigits=true&autostart=false

not sure if the info in the vid is accurate but it is interesting none the less. Though the real reason for why the site is down is probably a permanant mystery...

*Edit*
listed below the google info for ufophysical.com is some info that says "Center for Physical Trace Research - We are dedicated to the scientific ..." So on a hunch i googled Center for Physical Trace Research and found this site:
www.angelfire.com...
Looks like it might be the folks at ufophysical.com trying to break through again. Could be wrong though, judge for yourself.

Well I cant say that I'm an expert in meteors passing through our atmosphere and impacting earth in a way that is discribed by the wittiness.
If the pictures are indeed authenic then I would expect a lot more damage and would think there would still be physical evidence to support that theory even today. We still are still picking up the melted glass in the impact craters in the American's. I can say there wasnt anything recorded in the military arsenal during the 70's/ 80's that mets that discripition to include early experiments with lazer tecnology.
