Share a Paranoid moment with me...

If you wanted total control of all of earths minds you wouldnt get it with something people hate. You'd get it with what everyone loves. With what everyone willinglly embraces. Thats where people least suspect danger.

If the Internet were a mind or a person, it woul already have much of what it needs.

It knows who you are.
It knows where you live.
It knows what you read.
It knows what you buy.
It knows what you like.
It knows what you dislike.
It knows who your friends are.
It knows what you believe.
It knows what you Download.

You willingly provided this information. If it wanted to find something against you, it probably could. And even if it couldnt find anything against you it could easily make something up. Information, whether true or false, spreads quickly these days. So if it doesnt like you, thats tough luck.

Even if you hadnt provided all that Information and even if it didnt know everything about you, you`d probably still be hooked to its hypnotic lure and the promise of access to all the worlds information.

It's a double edged sword though.

They may be able to keep tabs on us and "herd" us around, and they may be able to keep us lazy at our homes chatting on the Internet all day....

But....we are also finding out pieces of truth at the same time. We are discovering new tactics and information.

It's a Yin Yang situation. + - .

There is 50% negative and 50% positive.

So in the long run, it cancels itself out.

If anyone wanted to institute a totalitarian Government in which everyones location, personality, status, beliefs are known and in-check it could be done.

I think at current the Internet is 90% positive but people are in Denial about their complete loss of privacy and the possible abuse of that.

Awesome, important, and thought provoking post.

I agree with muzzle flash; it really is 50/50 in good and bad.

But another point I was surprised you didn't bring up was how it brainwashes us with those damn ads on the sides of websites! "1 weird rule to fix your fatness!"
"Use this 1 old trick to get RIPPED!!!"
haha. I thought that was what you were going for.

It seems like most are way to preoccupied with the contents of the Internet to actually take a look at the Internet itself.

Very good theory here Skyfloating. I often thought the very same thing myself. I know it is working toward unifying us all. Which is a big conspiracy in and of itself.

I watched a show one night about Google. The executives and employees made no secret about storing peoples personal information and searches. It is forever logged and kept. There was something to the effect that after eighteen months, the searches couldn't be traced to your IP. They have since done away with this and now everything you do is saved forever.

It also keeps many people at home as they can do everything over the internet.
Keeps people isolated and controlled.

But it is also a powerful tool, for the aware.
Computers are as close as you can get to an equal playground with "TPTB".
Afterall, I could know as much, or even more, about these things than the average Joe in the Air Force. With the information at my fingertips that is the internet, and the computer savvy that I have from years of learnings (this isn't true, it is a hypothetical
) it can be a great conspiracy to get me, or it can be MY conspiracy.

In the end, the internet can be as useful, or as detrimental, as you want it to be.

If I Imagine what it will be like in 100 years (if no radical change of mind happens) - the steets are empty, nature is just a distant memory, virtual-reality is the only reality...

I remember somewhere, one of the Rockefellers said the internet shouldn't have been invented because look how many of us are aware now. Without the internet, a lot of us would still be asleep. Books are cool too though.

I know man, it's scary.

People don't read books much as it is and in 100 years they probably wont even
make books any more.... people will just read stuff on the internet.

We already have an entertainment industry that sets out to dumb people down, the internet is just like another branch, slowly catching up with the other mediums.

They're making it so everyone can live their lives from the comfort of their own home.
No need to interact in the physical sense with friends, just facebook and tweet and whatever... want to have a jam with your band, just hook up online and jam through your laptops... need to have meetings, no problem... video conference, want to learn a new skill...fine... learn over the internet.

Everything is available online.

It can't Just be convenience....can it?

For everything "Real" you need to do, there is now and electronic or virtual way of doing it.
I dread to think of what the future will be like.

The internet has helped to spread the message.

But i was "Aware" before the internet.... and I'm sure i will be if it ceased to exist.

I do like it though, just playing devil's advocate

It is called THE BEAST and it is a supercomputer! I have had dreams about it. It looks like a beast but it is shaped like the earth as in round!!!! and it has a that goes straight to the core and it's destruction. The path is associated with it's equator which is a round about line across the surface. I guess it's a gps unit or some sort of mpaping device....it knows basically everything on paper there is to know about you and it is the metaphorical apple from the so called "satan" a serpant rather, the metaphor for the apple is called knowledge.

Awesome, isnt it? Listen to the kids talk - "Whats the point in going to town for shopping?" - "Whats the point in buying books?" - "Whats the point in driving all the way to a friends house?" "Whats the point of getting a girlfriend/boyfriend, porn saves me a lot of hassle"

...when someone pulls the electricity plug, they`ll be devestated.

Come to think of it, who owns Electricity?

Explanation:

It knows who you are.

Yes. But why hide?
Transparency is my shield!

It knows where you live.

Yes. But various organizations and other entities that I don't control already knew that information and can spread it around freely.

It knows what you read.

Online it sure does but offline No it doesn't. I don't use Amazon etc to source my offline reading material.

It knows what you buy.

No it doesn't. I have NO credit cards and I refuse to use any debit cards I possess online for any reason whatsoever. Cold Hard Ca$h obscures my financial consumer habits quite nicely.

It knows what you like.

To a certain extent it does but it lacks the whole picture.

It knows what you dislike.

Again, to a certain extent it does but it lacks the whole picture.

It knows who your friends are.

Not all of them by a long shot!

It knows what you believe.

No! It has possession of what I have stated online and how closely that matches what I believe has yet to be tested. I could be lying through my teeth for all it knows.

It knows what you Download.

Yes and I'm aware of this and I'm not afraid either.

Personal Disclosure: IMO The REAL danger is ourselves and our complacency/niavety/squeemishness/stupidity etc.

P.S. Keep your freinds close but your enemies closer. This is so you can stab them to death at your leisure. Remember though that you are closest to yourself and that is one enemy that you can't escape. Don't ever betray yourself unwillingly is a good motto to follow methinks.

if your internet use is loged and it probaly is thay can have the dirt on important people before thay are even important. so if some one says something out of line thay know where to start looking at how to discredit them. so you have to be a butter would`ent melt type if your planing to be impotant one day or tow the line of who ever has power already

The very concept of the internet was established a long time ago. TPTB knew exactly what they were doing when they allowed this technology. They knew exactly what information would be accessed and supplied their own versions. Our supposed knowledge from the internet is exactly what they want us to know.

This is all just a theory on my part. As is this next one. What if they have sequences of letters and numbers, that when searched expose the hidden archives? You could access from anywhere there is an internet connection with a simple search code. It's something I would have embedded.

The BEAST knows just about everything there is to know about every subject!!!!

In the future you could be dumb enough to download it straight to your brain!!!

That is unless you wake the hell up and realize that their is a global conciouscness and your thoughts and your actions represent and effect everyone else on the global subconsious. There is heaven and hell but that is only a state of mind. You are only what you allow yourself to believe that you are. That is the illusion that most people can not come to grips with, they imagine fame or fortune but that usually just goes to support forfeit causes that require sympathy in order to get people to donate and have a sense of giving that will make ripples that become waves on the global subconscious.

All for what???

We are a piece of life which is almost guarunteed to survive but sometimes the consequences of surviving can be devestating and that would probably be mankinds doing.
