I. background investigations or obtain Security Clearances, will shove their agenda down America's throat without a thought about the people and its effects on many generations of Americans. It's all about the agenda. It's screw the people, as all they want from us is as much in taxes as they can possibly squeeze out of Americans.

(The Constitution states that taxes are to be "indirect" and "per capita", not a direct tax on gross wages from all sources.)

He, and his unvetted advisers, as in Van Jones, will destroy what is left of our Constitutional (Federalist) Republic in his ONLY term a POTUS and he and his America loving wife, and kids will jet off to some safe haven as our country explodes when the sleeping Americans realize the elite have stolen our nation's wealth and our politicians, and the MSM, have lied out their a**es to us for so many years to hide this theft. The America that we grew up in, will no longer exist and the people will be in the streets!!!!!

Our only hope is a third party can arise and come up with a Presidential candidate that can be trusted, and will lead by following a strict interpretation of the US Constitution, has great trust in the strengths of the American people, and believes in his heart "that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom -- and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth." Americans have been brain washed to think it is okay for corporations to manipulate the system and take advantage of people while it is wrong for the people to demand justice.

There is only 1 way to stop corporations and it is very simple, stop shopping there. Stop getting things from a major bank and relocate all of your funds to a small local bank. Start boycotting corporations they are already very unstable so let's just finish the job. Don't shop at Wal Mart or Costco or whatever is a chain store, only local Mom and Pop stores, that will end this whole sherade and bring the income inequality down, we don't have to fight a war they rely on us so let's just shut them down.

I don't see what's the big deal either. Capitalism is the american way, so what, it's a free market society, if people cannot handle that, they shouldn't live in america.

The middleclass is a threat to the elite because they are in a position to do things. Keep people dirt poor and hungry and they can't do much. Actually the welfare class, people on welfare are actually able to do a lot more than most working, commuting, people, but maybe they figure they are too poor to be effective. Retirees are also a threat. Anyone not nose-to-the-grindstone has enough time to look around and can make a difference. If we had the internet back in 63 we would not be in this mess now.

You've got to be kidding. My opinion of Obama's people is clearly stated in a post on this page. You have got to out of your mind to think that Obama's people are "better" the GW's.

Heard of Van Jones, Bill Ayers and the rest of his "Socializers" of the American people. Great advisers - anti-democracy/big goverment believers to a man/woman. They want to fundamentally change the foundation that this country was built upon. Socialism is their ultimate goal.

Especially with what is happening to this country. It's no longer a Republican/Democrat deal, they're just the fronts for the elite, their banks and corporations. Obama's massive spending makes George Bush's look pretty tame. If you can't see this either, you've got to be blind.

As long as you remain within the Republican/Democratic "argument", you are part of the problem and have nothing to do with a solution.

And when the day comes when you, and yours, finally realize the American people have been "hoodwinked" by BOTH political parties and the MSM, it will you and yours out in the streets "a shootin' and a shoutin'.

If you REALLY believe this to be caused only by a Republican and Obama's going to make it all better, I'm sorry, but you have not a clue.

You are simply talking about two halves of the same team. The republicans are not “nut jobs”. They are just acting as ordered by their controllers as are the democrats. Oh and if you have not figured it out we are not the controllers. Bush plunging us into debt was the excuse for Obama tripling it. And you will see once the damage has been done in the coming months with Prince Charming locking us into paying for health insurance and saving the planet with more of our tax dollars (like there's anything left for most of us), that the right-left pendulum of politics will swing back to what many of us perceive as the right. In truth there is no right or left, just a united front of tyranny. One party, the "power party" as that is what our representatives are sucking out of us and giving to the controllers. Once we have all reached a level of poverty equal to the rest of the world their task will be complete.

We still have the time, strength, resolve and wealth to resist them in a meaningful dangerous manner. They continue to fear us but not for long. Once every moment of your/my/our existence is encompassed in just remaining alive, they win. How many people around you have already reached that point? Where every ounce of every resource is needed to stay out of jail, out of debt, out of the hospital and off the street? No extra. Not a minute to think let alone complain. Not a cent to spare let alone launch an offensive. Not enough strength to get through the day let alone climb out of the abyss. Not even a hope for change. And some of the most destitute among us still consider that the government is the answer and not the cause.

You must live in a very exclusive neighborhood if you haven't seen any of this. And so you are still sheltered from the realization that neither side is on your side. If GW doesn't go down in history as the worst president, it will be extremely surprising. While I don't rate Wilson as a great president, where he was once rated, he is far and away from being the worst POTUS. I would give Calvin Coolidge that award, for residing over possibly the most corrupt period in U.S. history, leading to the collapse of the U.S. economy and the world economy, and the Great Depression. Herbert Hoover in his role of making a bad situation worse certainly comes in a close second. Richard Nixon's corruption and leading our nation into stagflation certainly puts him high on the list, Ronald Reagan probably ran the most corrupt admin in history, trading arms with one group of terrorists to finance another, GH Bush and the stock market failure and S&L rape certainly are both close candidates, but GW Bush takes the cake as the worst president in U.S. history.

GW's presidency started off with 9/11, which is the biggest failure in U.S. security in the history of our nation. The picture of GW looking terrified in a grade school class room while the crisis unfolded is hard to forget. Darth Cheney, his veep, who is probably the person who ran the country during GW's 8 years of reign over the greatest build up of debt in the history of the world, disappeared for several days after 9/11. The Katrina incident in New Orleans certainly is another large jewel in GW's crown as the worst president in U.S. history. GW's appointment of a guy, whose only experience was being a judge of a horse show from which he was terminated, to be in charge of our nations Emergency response agency FEMA, must be your idea of competency. However, the total collapse of the U.S. economy and the almost $2T dollar bailout of Wall Street crooks certainly has to be the crowning achievement of GW's horrible presidency.

The list of the failures of the GW admin is far more extensive, but just these three massive failures pretty much places the GW admin in a class of its own as the worst admin in U.S.history.

It is quite obvious that people like you greatly desire the Obama admin to fail, you are all such a bunch of sweethearts. Considering that no major piece of real estate was blown up in Obama's first year, he already has GW beat hands down. Our economy was already wrecked when Obama took over, so if it doesn't improve within a year of two of him leaving office, he won't go down as anything but a guy who took over at a very difficult time, although no matter what you and your kind are determined to lay the blame of GW's failures, and I suspect your own, on Obama.

Sure, Obama's people all have experience working in the federal government, you do need to hire people with experience in these areas. Obama's people came from the Clinton admin., which did a good job of running the federal government, the nineties being a very successful economic period. GW's people came from the GH admin, and the Reagan admin, and the Nixon admin before that. Each time these people have been in charge they have ran our country into the ground. Stagflation, the S&L collapse, the collapse of our entire financial markets, have all resulted while the repubs have been in power. It is not "a" republican, it is the whole party which is incompetent.

Yes, Obama has better people behind him, and the record shows this.

I am quite aware of the prejudices of liberal elites, with whom Obama is far too cozy for my peace of mind, but that doesn't mean I wish him to fail like the ditto heads all seem to desire.

It is quite clear that corporate elites have enough representatives of both parties in their back pockets to stifle much needed reform.

However, I have much more faith in the people of the U.S.. Corporate America has done everything it can to cut our throats, and finally people are starting to wake up to what a bunch of no good buggers they are.

We will see who has the most to lose if no one has the money to pay off the huge debts created by the last three repub admins.

Meanwhile, farmers markets are thriving.

The two parties are clearly not on the same team, they have similar but separate elitist agendas, but like I pointed out in my previous post, enough people in both parties are in the back pockets of the corporate elites to stifle the reform that is now needed.

The fact that so many people have bought into this con job of the free market continues to be one of our biggest problems.

Stop obsessing about the government, and clue in to reality.
Government either works for us or against us. When the repubs are in power they use the government to work against us while at the same time warning us about the evils of government. Government is bad under repub admins because they make it bad. When the government does what it is supposed to do, like in the nineties, we are then given the opportunity to prosper. What do you have against prosperity?

The green movement will create lots and lots of jobs, and move us more towards independence from big corporations. Wind power, solar power, pneumatic cars that can charge off of electricity with no polluting batteries, smaller scale automated manufacturing, all moves us out from under the control of the corporate elites, which is why they work so hard to keep the massive campaign going against green technology.

Laws that keep corporations from polluting our air, land, and water by forcing companies to meet reasonable standards create jobs.

Laws that keep people from stealing our retirement plans, which they are supposed to be managing, are good for us.

Corporations can ship our jobs overseas, but if they don't pay those people enough money to buy the goods they produce, then they won't have anyone to buy their products, and so their investments become worthless.

Don't despair, find a way to get independent from corporations.

I disagree. One party. It's like a football team's offense and defense. They have different functions. Ben Shalom Bernanke is one of those rare "two way players" and not from the Clinton administration. If I may borrow a facetious campaign slogan from Nixon's second term: "Why change dicks in the middle of the screw?"

The banks and major corporations know this. They help keep this arrangement in place. Elites benefit elites. Look at who received the bailouts and stimulus from BO and co. Not small business that could innovate and do the things you and Barry describe. Only those with the potential of being the socialist company store.

My wife and I had some of that 90's Clinton prosperity. We had four jobs between us to make ends meet. I can clearly see that particular brand of prosperity is coming back to us.

I get chills thinking of how cheerfully Clinton signed off on NAFTA completing the subversive scheme.....er I mean hard work of Bush Sr. making Ronnie Raygun's delusion......er I mean vision a reality. So different and yet so willing to come together on this one issue that forever crippled the country. Kumbaya my lord! "Can't we all just get along?" Like one party?

It is more complicated than that. If you are from Texas you tend to look after the interests of big oil, Illinois tractors, Michigan cars, Oregon aircraft, California high tech, New York investment, Nebraska insurance (notice who got to call the shot?) and so on. When the needs of your industries are go along with the needs of your fellow senators industry, you work together, when they conflict you oppose each other.

Traditionally the democrats are supposed to look after the poor and the middle class, but over the last several decades they seem to have abandoned the U.S. middle and working class to concentrate on the needs of minorities and immigrants, and more than happy to take away from one particular demographic in favor of all others. This is how things have gotten twisted around. On this I imagine we agree.

Traditionally the republicans look after big business, at least that has been the way things have been since the Civil War, with the south coming into the fold lately, breaking up the balance of power.

Now we are actually seeing republican politicians speaking out against illegal immigration which big business loves. There is a lot of shifting going on. Believe me, I would love to see a third party start to develop a large enough following to compete.

BUT, no matter what, if the free market concept is applied, allowing businesses to lie cheat and steal for profits, where the rich become richer and the rest of us become poorer, it becomes easier and easier to buy off politicians and elections.

Do you see the slippery slope here?

Sorry if you missed out on the nineties. I have a hard time believing things were better for you in the last 9 years.

Our country is flushing down the toilet, and yet in this very thread people are still arguing about democrat/republican, progressive/conservative, which one is evil and which one is destroying our nation...

Can't you fools see that it's all of them? Can't you see that by perpetuating this left-right nonsense you are only playing into their hands?

If I see one more person blame "Socialism" for the state of our economy, I might puke. If I see one more person blame "Capitalism", I think I'll break something. The truth of the matter is Corporatism (a bastard child of Socialism/Capitalism - Capitalism for the poor/middle class and Socialism for the rich) is what has funneled wealth up to the top 5% in this country. Corporatism is what has led to the collapse of the middle class.

Republicans are lying to you. They are blaming the "progressives" and the "socialists", all the while their blood-soaked hands are reaping the profits of our boys and girls overseas, and their pockets are stuffed neatly with kickbacks from the insurance lobbyists.

Democrats are lying to you. They are blaming the Republicans in the same manner, while they pass lucrative spending bills we cannot afford, butchering what could have been an honest attempt at true change and reform. While they preach liberalism and progression, they practice the same money-grabbing politics that have been leeching resources from the middle class this entire time.

If we are going to survive as a nation (and at this point, I highly doubt we will make it to 2050), we are going to have to DROP ALL OF THIS BULL# AND ACTUALLY FOCUS ON FIXING THE SYSTEM.

We need serious reforms, not only in the economy but in the very way our government functions. We need to end "career politicians". We need to end the pork-filled spending. We need to end lobbyists. We have to put strong regulations on corporations, and reconfigure the tax system to something we had before, taking the burden off of the middle and upper middle classes and putting it back on the filthy rich and the corporations where it belongs.

Unfortunately, we will never achieve this, because there are deluded people who are afraid of such reforms, and judging by their presence on this site (a place which should attract a crowd of higher-than-average intellect) they make up an enormous percent of the population.

While you idiots blame each other for this mess, the ones in control are squeezing every last dollar out of the failing system, so that they can move to a nice secluded ranch in Paraguay while the US collapses into a third-world nation.

While I completely agree with you I must also play the Devil's Advocate, just a bit, and say that I think it is hard for people to let go of the Conservative/Liberal point of view not out of allegiance to a party but to an ideology. I am done with the Democratic Party - I am so very tired of their complicit BS and Lies - I am however still of a 'progressive' nature, you could even say I am also of a socialist nature. Now that does not mean that is all I am or that I am blind to other points of view and the good in them, only that this is my main point of view. I think this is partially what you are seeing. I think as long as people realize the 2-Party system is corrupt and raping our nation they can still adhere to their own political philosophy.

The truth of the matter is Corporatism (a bastard child of Socialism/Capitalism - Capitalism for the poor/middle class and Socialism for the rich) is what has funneled wealth up to the top 5% in this country. Corporatism is what has led to the collapse of the middle class.
