Well I personally have learned a lot in this thread.

#1 that people actually do film/see things, wonder what they are, then find out they weren't what they thought. Not everyone who films/sees something unusual automatically assume it's this or that. The OP remained honest from post 1, answered every question and posted the raw material for everyone to view. This is a RARE thing for a hoaxer to do, I do not count this as a hoax, rather a mis-perception. Maybe ats should add "mis-perception" as a status for solved boards.

#2 I've also learned that there are MANY people here at ATS with open minds. With that said, there are always going to be "it's a hoax" and "no way thats NOT a ufo!" People..

#3 and I learned it was not a string with a toy hanging over the porch...Funny how so many people thought that, and like another poster said, it's one thing to make a claim but *back it up* with solid analysis!

That sums it up for me, and thanks for keeping ATS entertaining for a short while OP!

The reaction of people to his honesty in posting a mea culpa is pathetic!
The guy owned up to the actual source of the object when he found out what it actually was, and people are still on his case.

Give the guy a break.

If none of you have anything better to do, go and collect match heads or pull wings of flies or something less pathetic.

Ps- To Echelon: I hope the next time an unusual object in the sky is recorded for all to see that it would be captured by someone like you with a good attitude and great balance of skeptisism and honesty. I would also really like to see the next person with any kind of unusual sighting be as quick and willing as you were to produce the raw video.

I still stand by my observation that they did NOT behave like balloons, nor did they really look like balloons.

At no stage did I see, or can I see in the videos, the "tether" I was told about that keeps them in place.

I just have to keep an open mind though, and being told they were weather balloons by the "owner" well, I have to also suppose my judgment was off upon viewing them and I have to consider all the possibilities.

Again, I still encourage anyone on ATS with the video analyzing skills and software to study the raw footage. It would be nice if someone could find the "tether" holding them in place so I can get a bit of closure on this

good videos ,good thread ive enjoyed keeping up with it! to the OP!.
Well heres my take on the matter, to me they dont seem to act like balloons either, i dont see any tether and i dont think the op was trying to do a hoax so give the guy some slack ok?.

Personally i think its great you want to see this thing cleared all the way!
in my opinion those videos are one of the best UFO videos i`ve seen in long time (and ive seen plenty).

So you have nothing to be sorry about ,after all those objects havent been confirmed as weatherballoons for sure?? right? so we are still talking about UFO:s (Unindentified Flying Objects)aye?

Don't worry mate.

You should go over and rant to your neighbour about having "UFO-shaped" weather balloons! Can't he just have a Sponge Bob shaped one instead? Or one with a blinking sign reading; "NOT a UFO!!!"

We'll just keep watching the skies some more...
