Actually, the first people arrested just a few hours after 9/11 were the five dancing Israelis.

A Mossad surveillance team made quite a public spectacle of themselves on 9-11.

The New York Times reported Thursday that a group of five men had set up video cameras aimed at the Twin Towers prior to the attack on Tuesday, and were seen congratulating one another afterwards. (1)

Police received several calls from angry New Jersey residents claiming "middle-eastern" men with a white van were videotaping the disaster with shouts of joy and mockery. (2)

"They were like happy, you know. They didn't look shocked to me" said a witness. (3)

[T]hey were seen by New Jersey residents on Sept. 11 making fun of the World Trade Center ruins and going to extreme lengths to photograph themselves in front of the wreckage. (4)

Witnesses saw them jumping for joy in Liberty State Park after the initial impact (5). Later on, other witnesses saw them celebrating on a roof in Weehawken, and still more witnesses later saw them celebrating with high fives in a Jersey City parking lot. (6)

Arresting police detectives said, "It looked like they're hooked in with this. It looked like they knew what was going to happen when they were at Liberty State Park." (7)

The Jerusalem Post later reported that a white van with a bomb was stopped as it approached the George Washington Bridge, but the ethnicity of the suspects was not revealed. Here's what the Jerusalem Post reported on September 12, 2001:

American security services overnight stopped a car bomb on the George Washington Bridge. The van, packed with explosives, was stopped on an approach ramp to the bridge. Authorities suspect the terrorists intended to blow up the main crossing between New Jersey and New York, Army Radio reported. (13)

CBS News reported, "...two suspects are in FBI custody after a truckload of explosives was discovered around the George Washington Bridge ... The FBI ... says enough explosives were in the truck to do great damage to the George Washington Bridge."

It was reported the van contained tonnes of explosives (14).

Isn't that amazing? Five Israelis are arrested on 9/11 driving a van packed with "tons of explosives." They're charged with conspiracy to blow up the George Washington Bridge, but the MSM totally ignores the story.

"He was allowed to talk to them only in English, and only from behind a glass partition. The Consul told me that the boys are in a bad state and that they are being held under difficult conditions."

When asked why the five youths, aged 22-26, are being held, Katie replied with despair: "It's ludicrous. They were on the George Washington Bridge [between upper Manhattan and New Jersey] at the time of the bombing, and the FBI had warnings of a terrorist plot, of guys in a white van, to blow up the bridge. So when the FBI saw this van, with my son and his four friends - one of them had a large sum of money, there were two razor knives in the van, and one of the boys is named Omer, which the FBI guys thought was Omar - they put one and one together and got three, and immediately arrested them... For the first few days, the boys were held in an FBI dungeon, tied up, with no clothes and no food."

How on earth have they arrested someone?

Some poor guy's getting framed, thrown in the can at the expense of someone else.

Why don't they arrest the alleged 19 hijackers who are all alive and well? However, they'll need to sweep over the 9/11 Commission and release another updated version for Christmas.

That'll be a good money spinner and you get to rewrite history at the same time.

Talk about killing two birds with one stone.

When I first saw the video that those Israelis took of the first building being hit (in the Loose Change video), I couldn't believe that people didn't use that as proof that something more than the "official story" was going on. It was especially telling how those guys filmed that hit with such calmness, zooming in at the just the right time without the slightest camera waver - proof that they were fully expecting the event to happen well in advance.

Where exactly in that article did it say that 5 Isrealis were arrested? How about a driect link to the NY times article? If you can do that then you may have some credibility but unitll then you dont.

In the back of my mind,all these years,has been the lurking question which this topic brought to surface,namely,Why were these guys dancing anyway?If they were mossad and had been ordered to film the spectacle,as reasonable a hypothesis as any,how come they broke discipline and did the dance which brought attention their way?Makes them seem like little goofs.About the only answer is that they could not help it because the emotion was so strong.The event was just starting,as far as the whole scenario went.So it seems a bit premature,EXCEPT that at that moment in the cascade of events,the inside part of the job was basically sealed,no one was gonna report finding evidence from that point onward,and so their parent group mossad's part of the job WAS over,at this point they got away clean.All conjecture,of course,but no better have I heard.

They were probly dancing because they were excited, What an event to pull off right?
and they figured, most peoples attention was drawn to the towers, not them.
And the most obvious reason, they were MOSSAD. They knew they were safe, no matter what, as was shown when they were given back to Israel.
