Thats just it superman. People want facts, right? What do people want as sources to facts? Other sources from other sources. Imean come on,you know as well as I do that if you give someone of a video of Obama talking saying whatever, that the first thing they will do, isbashthesource "Ohthisis fromFox News, this is from MSNBC, thisis WND" totally overlookingthe fact that those words were indeed spoken from the horses mouth.
We allknow a source is nothing but a way for someone to say "see, Imnot crazy". Truthof the matter is, everything that has ever been said/done is provided by some sort of source, yet we have a problem accepting that source. So no matter what, people really dont care about "facts", cause "facts" always have a way ofnot being actual "facts" to some people.

You say this hurt my cause. To tell you the truth, I dont think it did. It was my intention for this to happen, to get people on this thread tosay what they TRULY felt about the given situation, and it worked. People got emotional, and they finally said what was on their minds. To me, that is all that I could ask for.

Such a statement that you WILL bash on Obama every chance you can get only shows that it's not open for discussion for you.

It says to me that if he said that he can announce a cure for every form of cancer, you'd say that it took too long and there's probably some strings attached and that it probably won't be available to everyone with cancer.

You just can't please some people and those people aren't worth talking to anymore than talking to a brick wall.

I find it interesting when ANYONE brings up the "Obama is a saviour" or "blindly following him" are the most critical of him & use those phrases do it to throw crap on his supporters & then say you stink! Meanwhile the last Pres' supporters were quick to say "if you don't support our Pres/war then you're UNAMERICAN." Common Good, you don't give any concrete support for your veiwpoint but blanket others' support as mindless zombies. Grow up & realise you lost the election, now it's Obama's turn. Too bad he has to start from the negative GWB left him rather from the positive Clinton left GWB. Got a better choice in 2012? Right, I thought not!

He has had one year to prove to me that he intended good, and he has yet to show me he isntout to screw this country over. I have givenhimmore than suffecient time to prove his worth, and so far, all he has done is hurt this country evenmore than it was. You can debate it with me all you want, but the fact of the matter is, this guy wouldhave to beone hellof a magician to redo everything that he has screwed up so far.

when they attack the source, you point out how they are being ignorant to the facts. or if it is possible, find the same quote/video from their source material.

in the face of a video of someone saying or doing something, you can't logically argue with it, unless it has been altered. you can't take a mashup video as a viable source bc it has been altered to point out the problems. you must have a full transcript or video in order to quell those who want to argue that point. it's just the way it is.

and if you were trying to get the emotional response to show people's spots, then you did accomplish it. and i guess this argument would be best saved for another time, another thread.

I don't think anyone cares about the small minority of people who hate Obama for whatever reason.

You don't matter because you can't communicate a solution and can only point at a problem that you think is there.

Present a solution and this appears to be a president who will listen.

But by all means, continue your foot stamping blathering tirade and diatribe of hate.

Superman, Iknow, and I agree with what you just said.

Let me throwsomething out there for you though...about thewhole source thing. It goes back to what Isaid, no matter what source you use, even in their own words, people willfinda way of brushing it off, or making excuses for it. Someone asked me for an example...and I gave them 2 examples.
2 examples, of only a PART of my thread...not only did they (a) dismiss the whole source together..but (B) they used that as a justification to just totally ignore the rest of the message that I was giving. It was a way for them to attack me, thats it. Had I NOT gave those two examples, they would have had NOTHING to run on. It seems that the only thing people had problems with on this thread of mine were two videos, and me bashing the president. Thats it. See where I am going with this?

Not at all... I never placed anything on my own convictions. If you read my thread on convictions you will find that I believe all convictions to be suspect. That's a far cry from living your life according to your own will or dynamic belief system.

I am all for an individuals ability to create their own world... but build it on convictions and they will soon be torn asunder.

A president is someone you are supposed to look up to, not be ashamed of, and thats what I am, ashamed. Maybe that is the reason I say it like I do, but regardless of how I say it, I said it. Everyday I am out there with the people, debating politics everywhere I go, wanna know why? Because thats ALL that people talk about anymore, they are worried, and they have EVERY RIGHT TO BE.
