Number of victims to unknown virus growing! State of emergency to be imposed in Ukraine?

According to my analysis of the information available, currently in Ukraine there are three epidemics:
1) Common seasonal flu.
2) Swine flu.
3) Unknown deadly virus, which is called "pneumonic plague" in Ukrainian blogs and forums.

The symptoms of this "pneumonic plague" are: high fever, desease evolves very quickly "as a lightning", wet coughing sometimes with blood, death occurs within 2-3 days from contraction, autopsy shows "melted lungs".

Is this information form that web site below? Where is the news from CNN or others news sources. Is there a blackout on news from this?

My god, my God, thats bad. I don't want to die like that....Just mailed two very close friends from Poland(who were my classmates and went home before the border closed) to send some Tamiflu over.

If my memory serves me correctly AQ were suposed to be playing with bubonic plague early this year that then wiped out an AQ base in Algeria..

I'm not saying this is a terrorist event, however one thing can lead to another and this might be the by product.

In extremely rare cases, bubonic plague can transform into pneumonic plague, a contagious form.

Since then we had the Pneumonic plague causing a lockdown in China and now another potential Pneumonic Plague in Ukraine.

How about those Ukranian blogs where people say it's part of Timoshenko's and Yeashenko's plan for elections? Heard blogs are full of angry comments it's all been made up as well. I can't back this claim, I heard it from Russian friend. I'm not claiming it is all hoax, but that's what I heard.

We have disinformation agents everywhere and in every country, that is a fact so I'm very skeptical even though, if something is going on for real I feel sorry for everyone in the middle of it.

Have you come across of these?

And it can't be plaque ..at least in it's typical form, lungs don't "melt"...it's actually very difficult to diagnose.

DOSE FOR ECHINACEA:

Adult

For general immune system stimulation, during colds, flu, upper respiratory tract infections, or bladder infections, choose from the following forms and take three times a day generally for 7 - 10 days:

-1 - 2 grams dried root or herb, as tea
-2 - 3 mL of standardized tincture extract
-6 - 9 ml of expressed juice (succus)
-300 mg of standardized, powdered extract containing 4% phenolics
-Tincture (1:5): 1 - 3 mL (20 - 90 drops)
-Stabilized fresh extract: 0.75 mL (15 - 23 drops)

For slow-healing wounds, creams or ointments should be applied as needed.

Police checkpoints? OMG they are really taking this very seriously indeed! That's both terrible and in some ways logical... Except for the fact that by now, many people will already have found ways out of the country.

No chance that as you are a foreigner they might not just let you leave? That sort of attitude sometimes exists in these situations.

Yes, it looks like you have to take a LOT for it to do any good..unfortunately.

But, heres something interesting, and peroxide is usually readily available anywhere..might give it a shot! In fact..IM going to keep this in mind, myself~!!!!!

So now after triage they have two choices for treatment: medical evacuation to larger centers like Kiev, or the use of military field hospitals. Or perhaps a combination of the two.

I'm afraid that echinacea will not help you just now. The best think which you can do is eat well (I know that it is sometimes hard at Ukraina) and relax (what is almost impossible at Ukraina now). So no advice at all. Bad situation. What you have is your body and your WILL to stay alive. Try to work with this. You have probably no more. Good luck and NO FEAR!

In addition to the echinacea dose I posted earlier, you might find the following helpful. Studies have shown that self hypnosis can boost immunity. (I'm a pharmacist and a hypnotherapist...the mind is stronger than most people realize!)

You can find some neat exercises posted on Wayne Perkins' website, or you can create your own creative visualizations, which is probably easier.

1. Create a metaphor in your mind to your immune system. For example, you might imagine your immune system like an army, or a battle ship, or a team of warriors....anything that works for you.

2. Imagine, in your mind, your "army" strenghtening in power, stronger, and killing off any invaders with ease.

3. Repeat in your mind, "my immune system is getting stronger and stronger, and kills off any invaders with ease", and do these visualizations in your mind 3-4 times a day.

You can boost your immune system doing these simple creative visualizations....really, you can. The mind is an amazing thing....studies have shown that self hypnosis can boost the immune system and improve healing.

I'm not sure where you got the 25% mortality rate figure. I understand the number of cases of infected people in the Ukraine is well into the tens of thousands. Perhaps members or our OP could give an update?

But frankly, even a 2.5% mortality rate is high for a flu-based epidemic. That's the estimated rate for the 1918 pandemic.
