I saw that mythbusters where they used helium balloons to lift a toddler.

The group of balloons it took to get her off of the ground was 6 or 7 times the size of that balloon saucer.

I dout the kid was ever in this saucer balloon.

Saw the same episode. The size of the cluster of balloons it took to lift a kid just a few feet off the ground was enormous. Way bigger than this balloon saucer. I will see if I can find a picture.

Apparently they thought it was just supposed to hover 20 feet off the ground...

Could his own dad have been stupid enough to put him in it so he could go for a little ride and it got away from him?

The neighbor said the whole family was outside working on it and he went inside for a minute, only to come back out to find out it had floated away.

I agree. Leaving a loaded gun on the back porch would be a similar
crime. If the little boy was not onboard, anyone care to guess how
big of a fine and reimbursement the parents will have to pay?

On the scanner, they said they 'have suspect zero'. Whats that mean?

People need more foresight. I think a lot of us could foresee a danger with the situation. May be most people aren't to sharp, I suppose. Kids are kids, if you have every been one or been around them.

That photo of the "falling object" looks like a Bird.

A weather balloon and a bird.

Skepticism is a two way street you know?

It is called making a mistake, or not thinking of every possible problem that could occur. At least the man was doing something with his sons other than sitting on the couch with one hand down his pants.

Its probably going to be a ton, but who cares? I just want to see that boy come back alive! After seeing that picture of the fallen object I am definitely more afraid that he isn't.

Heads will roll for this!

The photo is a still shot from a TV helicopter. It could have hovered to
the location, lowered and looked. It's like..DUH! The media likes blood
and tragedies.

That image was apparently taken from live SKY9 footage as you can see in the channel logo... from a helicopter.

If that image is real, it was probably spotted after the fact while someone was watching tape, and could easily have been missed by the cameraman while it was being shot.

That balloon would be a magnet for kids to flock around. It should have been secured better so that a child couldn't launch it because of the results we are seeing.

Yes it certainly would be a kid magnet. In insurance we call that an attractive nuisance. Attractive nuisance are a huge liability...because they are kid magnets.

Attractive Nuisance

I really really do hope this kid is ok and is hiding somewhere after setting that big balloon free. However i have to say something. Sometimes looking at the TV tonight was like looking at a disclosure event taking place right before my eyes. Im sure other people on here must have thought the same.

Either way im praying for the kid until we know were he is

Was it a Colorado Holiday, or is this a family that Home Schools?

He was never in the balloon. If you watched this whole thing live like I did, you'll see that there are no openings, slashes or anything of the sort that would support the theory that the kid fell, slipped or tore out of the mylar.

Yeah kids are kids. They don't alway behave. Maybe they were helping and the guy was about to crap his pants, ran into the house telling the boys "Stay away from the baloon or you are going to get a first class ass whooping" and they didnt listen. Stuff happens, and it is no reason to send an apparently good father to jail for one lapse of judgement if it was even that.

It must be a code unique to that area. I just searched for "have suspect zero" in Google and all I got was a bunch of results for some movie from 2004.
