Have you last two angry guys not noticed that this thread is in Skunkworks? Last I heard it was pretty much anything goes. Anywho. Still reading through the archives and his schtick does start to wear a bit thin after a time. (No pun intended)

This topic was moved by mod's to Skunk Works... it should have been moved to the HOAX forum.

Skunk Works is a place for speculative THEORIES. Last I checked, the OP, and the guy named "Future" are not proposing a theory, they are lying and trying to call it the truth. There is a big difference. If the "future" guy called all of this a "theory" then that is fine, but he is calling it the "truth", that is not fine.

Theory : I have a theory that there are aliens living on the moon! Here are my speculative reasons to believe ( Reason #1.... #2..... #3.... ).

Hoax : There are aliens on the moon! It's true! Believe me! They landed in my backyard and talked to me telepathically! They said they live on the other side of the moon! This is the truth!

You see, the theory belongs in Skunk Works because it has speculative reasons to believe. People can confirm or debunk the reasons, and give their opinions about the theory.

..but, the Hoax belongs in the Hoax forum because it's someone trying to pass lies as truth. The only way to confirm or debunk the liar, is to catch him in his own lies. It's not a theory to the hoaxer, it's the truth to the hoaxer, so there is nothing to debate unless he actually tries to prove it with facts, and solid evidence (which never happens).

If you want to "role play" and pretend he is telling the truth, and "have fun" talking to him... well there should be another forum for that. The hoax forum is a good place to start.

This "future" guy has already been debunked. His explanation of the time machine was a total failure. To some people who know nothing about science, his words about the time machine have the illusion of being real (that's easy to do, just confuse people). But, to people who know a lot about science, his words look like a sorry Hollywood attempt at making something out of nothing.

Once again, I believe this topic should be move to the hoax forum. It's not a theory, it's someone trying to lie.

Well, hoax or not, the guy is on 4chan as we speak and I've already asked him a couple of questions.

All you have to do to prove this guy is a fraud (even though he proved it already himself) is ask him to send an Obituary list from the month of September in 2009.

They keep records of death for hundreds of years. Especially if it is someone famous. He is supposedly 100+ years in the future, meaning mostly all famous people of today will be dead. All he has to do is name a few dates that famous people have died, or any person for the matter.

Oh wait, I bet $100000 he will find an excuse and a reason that he can't do it. If he does, he will find a date that is a few months or years from this point in time, so he can buy himself more time, because he is a fraud. It will turn out to be false, just like him.

I in no way believe that this guy is anyone other than someone trying to entertain people. Why does it bother you so much? I personally have gotten 4 or 5 days entertainment out of it which is more than I get for most threads on this site.

I think he did mention before about the minimum age for a president being reduced, and thats why chelsea clinton won

Reducing the minimum age for President would take an amendment to the Constitution. Amendments to the Constitution take many years to happen

First, someone must Propose an Amendment, either by:

-- Two-thirds of both houses of Congress vote to propose an amendment, or

-- Two-thirds of the state legislatures ask Congress to call a national convention to propose amendments.

Then, after the proposal passes the vote, it must be ratified. To ratify Amendments:

-- Three-fourths of the state legislatures approve it, or

-- Ratifying conventions in three-fourths of the states approve it.

All this usually takes several years (i.e., more than three).

There has been thousands of proposals sent to congress. Only 33 have ever got passed through congress, and of those 33, only 27 have ever become amendments -- and that includes the 1st 10 Amendments (the bill of rights), so only 17 have really ever been ratified in about the past 200 years.

As far as I know, no serious proposal reducing the age of qualification for the President has been sent to congress recently, and nobody in congress has seriously brought up the question for debate recently.

If they haven't started the process already for amending the constitution to allow a 32 year-old to be president, there is virtually no chance that such an amendment would be ratified by 2012.

There have been amendments ratified in that short a period, but I would think that even if it did happen, the proposed amendment would have a set-period (say 10 years) before it would take effect. That way, the amendment would not be directed at one specific individual to allow that individual to take office. 75% of the states would never ratify an amendment that would possibly benefit a specific person.

The states are very conservative about ratifying amendments, and when they do so quickly, it is usually in LIMITING power of the president rather than giving the office greater power or greater leeway to a person seeking that office.

So I already know the hoaxer is on ATS, I already commented about that...

...from what I see (and I see everything).... The "Future" guy is playing multiple roles in this act.

He's playing a guy asking questions. (Asker)

He's also playing the guy answering the questions. (Future)

It goes like this....

First, "Future" sees a preview of an upcoming anime show. He then disguises himself as "Asker" and asks "Future" about the future of said anime show. He then turns back into "Future" and answers the question. Then turns back into "Asker" and says "wow you were right!?! like omg!".

That's like Steven Spielberg pretending to be some random guy named "Future" and predicting future movies, then turning back into Steven S. and saying "wow you were right I am making that movie in the future"...

This is not entertaining, this is child's play. This has as much entertainment value as the Sesami Street show.

I already made him look like a fool twice in the last 20 minutes. He gave it the ole "I'm not here to prove anything to you" reply instead of explaining my problems with his story. Game, Set, Match.

Over half a year ago we did this and he answered the onepiece question properly. They are saving Luffy's brother,Ace, from an underwater Navy prison. He said that he watched that before it was even released. He still has only 1% credibility with me, and yes I realize that some things he says do seem to contradict albeit extremely rarely.

That episode was posted online by someone like 3 months before Futuresguys "magical prediction" about it. It's called research. Our Google Fu is stronger than yours.

A couple of items in that other thread posted by Rhain also further convinces me that futureguy is a phony:

1. If it is "unsurvivably hot" to be outside in Louisiana during his alleged time (2104), there would in fact be no Louisiana. If the earth was that hot, the melted ice caps would create so much more water that Louisiana would be underwater. If it was underwater, it would not make any sense for him to say it was too hot to live there, because there would be no "There" there.

2. How can he not know any information 95 years from now regarding the Super Bowl? Doesn't he have "Google" or some form of google? I can look up on the internet and find out all about sporting events from 1914 (95 years ago). I can find out about all of the sports popular at that time -- the 1914 county cricket championships, the 1914 horse racing champions, the 1914 boxing champions. I find it hard to believe he couldn't answer a question about a Super Bowl that happened 95 years (at the very most) before him.

The bottom line is this..if someone asked me a question about popular sports from 95 years ago, I have the resources in today in 2009 to answer the question. One would think he has better resources in 2104.

These two things coupled with the "32-year-old Chelsea Clinton becoming President in 2012" should be more than enough for most people to realize this guy is not for real.

To "TheOneElectric" aka. Future Guy: Thanks for trying to shop your thread around to other venues. I was amused for a couple of days and enjoyed it thoroughly until opening the .rar files in the archives that you posted here on page 4. Everything was going smooth until I saw that you forgot to clear the reply panel in one of your replies to 4chan.

Lo and behold, it was the same text as the next post to that thread by Furtureguy, imagine that. Thanks for trying Sir. Come again soon.

Do any of you realize that if he was from the future with the technology that he describes, WE wouldn't be able to communicate with HIM?

He talks about accelerating photons and or electrons faster than light using a black hole, and that is how he sends messages. That would make it a ONE WAY TRIP. That would mean he would only be able to send messages, and not receive messages.

In order to read our messages, he would have to read the database stored on the server in 2009. In order to read the database, the information from the database would have to be sent to the future. Sorry, but 2009 doesn't have that ability.

Damn... what a major flaw in his dumb story.

OH NO IT WAS NOT.

Not saying that he is legitimate because of it but on my free time I do enjoy the occasional nerdy things. Manga tends to be one of them. Ace was just recently caught close to may. Ace was sentenced to death close to May, I remember because I follow 2 of the big three manga and I remember the heavy discussions over the author, Oda, making some type of mistake with Ace's age and everyone arguing. Future said something about the navy prison a while ago, while /r9k/ was not in the recovering state that it is today.

Even if he guessed it, it in no way means that he is correct. I guess we will have to see if the end October to see if he is bunk or not. I am leaning towards a talented author more or less.

That's great glad you settled it.

Talking to the poster and using a civil form of communication make is pleasant for all to read.

Crashing into the thread thumping ones chest to prove you outed someone posting untruths is not my take on communication.

I am sure few people walk away from that thread truly believing what they have read, and for the ones who do so what.

Just because a certain episode has not aired yet does not mean that episode has not been written and/or produced. "Future" perhaps has a source that can tell him about the Onepiece episodes that are written and/or produced now (in 2009) that have not yet aired.

...and what?...he can answer questions about Onepiece but has no way to find out of what the Superbowl is?
