I'm impressed by the thoroughness of the author. Normally, those who are posting these sorts of things just make up stuff that sounds good, but the
real artists construct their tapestry by weaving into their story some plausible references to real people and events. Kudos to the author! When I
recognized some of the names in the narrative, I realized that this was well done.
As one who appreciates well crafted stories, I had to post this for those of you who might not have picked up on the OP's references

Both are directed towards a heim field generator.
Ron Mallet: is a professor of physics at UConn who is working on a time machine based on frame dragging.
Plasma Wakefield Generator: The Stanford Linear Accelerator is host to something called the plasma wakefield accelerator experiment.
Heim field Generator: Burkhard Heim was a German Physicist who was obsessed with space travel, and who was regarded by some as the German Stephen

Answer The chridom civil war was initiated by the CNPA. Most members of the redshirt youth were already members of the
organizations that merged to form it, Christian Battlecry and Joel's Army. The core members of the CNPA were Ron Luce, Rick Warren, Mike Huckabee,
Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck and a few dozen more you'd probably recognize. Nearly all were charismatic television personalities or former politicians.
From atheology.com
"BattleCry is Ron Luce’s effort to engage young Christians in order to return the United States to “Christian” values. Franklin Graham and Ron
Luce seem to be off the same religious block as Charles Stanley, head of the First Baptist Church in Atlanta and former president of the Southern
Baptist Convention, who declared in a sermon that “God is in favor of war” during the propaganda run-up to the U.S. invasion of Iraq."
From RightWingWatch.org:" Joel's Army believers are hard-core Christian dominionists, meaning they believe that America, along with the rest of the
world, should be governed by conservative Christians and a conservative Christian interpretation of biblical law. There is no room in their doctrine
for democracy or pluralism."
The riots really exploded into a 'war' when the CNPA candidate lost to Jim Maynard, a gay atheist.
From his own blog, Jim Maynard writes: “I am a gay, humanist, Democratic Socialist, living in Memphis, Tennessee. I am the founder of the Memphis
Lesbian & Gay Coalition for Justice and the Memphis Freethought Alliance. I am politically active in the Democratic Socialists of America
(www.dsausa.org) and the Stonewall Democrats. “
There is an elegance to the story that is lovely. Coupled with the fact that the time travel aspect is not about physical time travel but about
sending photons and other particles back in time. In other words, the physics int he story is based on some real ideas that have some tantalizing
early results.
