"Ms. Abram described herself as a stay-at-home mother from Lebanon, and in many ways she was representative of the almost entirely white and irritable crowd"

WOW!!! A Lebanese woman = white (But if the crowd was ALL Lebanese, the journalist wouldn't DARE call them white.)

Obama is mostly Arabic too, which means he is WHITE as well.

What about the fact that MOST OF AMERICA IS WHITE, and a "random" crowd is supposed to be majority white.

I'm going to go cry now.

Hey Larry...we can't fight the good fight on this one. I've tried and tried and tried. No one wants to understand how racist they can be deep down. That what's sad but true. Instead of just outright telling people they are being racist...test them on the issue at hand. Their own ignorance of that will prove there deep seeded racism no matter how slight it may be.

Look everyone...the Times is making a valid point...not a headline. Make some google searches... find out what heads of states and other "responsible" elected officials are "joking" about.

A gov. wants a Obama hunting license
Palin calling him Sambo (kinda old news ... sept. 08)
A Senator trying to "bring him down"
and many many more!!
Sounds like racism to me...or maybe how about a severe predjudice which is all the same to me!!

This is a scary, shameful and downright disrespectful. It's not even about health care and the economy anymore. While people bring guns around the president at town hall meetings and cops send out racist emails to colleagues... and the other racial news that's been generated...corporations, banks, other politicians, foreign entities (just to name a few) are stealing, scheming and acting against you right under your nose.

I really don't like the President either...and I'm a black male. But as a black male in America..I can't stand to see this happen anymore. I want some one to make a post about what it is that the PRESIDENT ... not his administration that he really can't control anyway...or congress who he has no real power over..but the PRESIDENT has done that is so bad to YOU!!

Bet you can't do it...

I want to be proven wrong...

Show me how not racist all the HATERS are.

(The obama health care plan....jeez...HE CAN'T WRITE THE BILL SO HOW IS IT HIS...HOW CAN HE TAKE ALL THE BLAME!!!!)

He signed the bill skyrocketing tobacco prices. I'm poor right now (out of work for some time) and 90% of my money is going to cigarettes, the only thing that keeps me sane.

He signed the law into effect where medical workers can be fired for refusing to help in an abortion if asked to do so. My mom is a Catholic in the medical field, and if they asked her to help in an abortion, she would be fired because she'd refuse.

I'm personally insulted that Obama is claiming that "The debate is over" on climate-change, when I've studied climate-change professionally, and he's dead wrong! He is straight lying to the American people.

...... By the way, Obama is not black. He's an Arab-White-Black-mix, and anyone else would be considered white. I'm considered white, and I'm darker than Obama.

No, you're twisting events that have nothing to do with racism. Do you think its was racism when all the same sorts of things were said about Bush? John Kerry joked about killing the president on Bill Mahr's show!

Whats going on now is you guys don't like your own tactics being used on you, so you play the race card as a way to discredit your critics.

The times does not have a point. The whole purpose of this post was to show their hypocrisy on all those issues. Its like MSNBC showing footage of a black man with an M16 at a town hall, but cropping it so you could tell he was black and accusing the protesters of being white racists.

It would be the same if the president was Jewish. The media can easily manipulate people into thinking that a white person stating their critical opinions about Obama is a racist, but god forbid, that same media should care to do anything about the real racists - themselves. Well, racist-propaganda would be a term suited best for this. Media bias is such an evil thing because it really plays a huge effect on people's perception of other races, cultures and religions.

Remember MSNBC did the whole Arizona guy with the rifle, but made him out to be white instead of black? I hate to agree with Sarah Palin but the media does need some revisions.

I notice the bias as well. During the election I was talking to my sister about why I didn't vote for Obama and how I didn't particularly care for either choice. She replied with something along the lines with "It was because he's black". I was so taken aback, that my own sister, someone who knows I'm not racist, thought I didn't vote for Obama because he was black... it's called being a fiscal conservative... color of skin had nothing to do with it. I really hate how every person on the Right is automatically considered racist, I don't even know where the heck that came from. I hear references to Hitler, but he definitely was not on the right... at least dealing with economics anyway.

I put your whole reply here for a reason...I hope you never debated anyone when you professionally studied climate-change because your argument is filled with holes.
Don't get it twisted I'm not making fun of you at all but this reply makes no sense.

If you studied climate change professionally ... i would believe you have a degree of some sort and would be able to find so work..doing something other then spending 5-6 dollars a day (i'm guessing) on cigarettes.

With that said...Obama never made you smoke that's your fault...don't like the price...quit smoking.

Your mom should work for someone who doesn't do abortions...or let the doctor know how she feels...I think they would understand that!

As far as climate change...that's a whole other topic...but quickly...climate change is a fraud...there are plenty of threads with sources that will back me up on that on this very site.

Obama is not Arab....I don't know where you got that from...but I'm sorry...he's not...nor a Muslim either...so you are slightly misguided on that as well. How could be be deemed white but your darker than him?? Just asking

Thank your for your response...but the issues that you have are issues that need to be resolved within yourself not Washington.

If someone said any of those things to or about me...I would probably punch them in the face...and if it was bad enough...I would sue them. So I'm not twisting anything...you just agree with racial slurs and jokes of our governments officials...which kind of makes you just like them. Not calling you a racist but your "colors" are starting to show

You didn't post any racial slurs or jokes. You posted a few examples of people saying stupid things, but not racist.

My point is that you're going to construe any criticism or insult of Obama as racist, because you probably have some race issues of your own. Its not possible in your mind for a white person to dislike Obama, without being racist.

You must not know the REAL history with this country and race. All of those who disagree with me don't, obviously. There was a time when black people were property...then they were a fraction of a person...and then even if he had all of the qualifications...he still wasn't considered a man all for his skin color. Even the mixes had certain rules and regs against them. Not to long ago it was ok to hang a black person in public or to not give him a fair trial based on his skin color and persieved intelligence... and the country was like this until when....OH YEAH IT NEVER ENDED!!!!!

WAS THERE EVER A CIVIL RIGHTS FOR ALL DAY?????

WAS THERE A BLACK PEOPLE ARE ONE OF US DAY????

NO THERE WASN'T

People say..."oh we elected a black president doesn't that mean something??"

NO..NOT AT ALL!!

All that means is that the majority of the people who voted didn't want McCain as President.

Do you think our racist history is just forgotten....no not at all. We can forget celebrities if they are not relevant anymore. We can forget the history of our country and laws and the such. But we can't forget hatred especially if no matter how big or small it is...is taught in families all across the country and world.

OPEN YOUR EYES...THAT'S WHAT THERE FOR...STOP BEING SO BLIND! "DENY IGNORANCE" DON'T EMBRACE IT!

I have no race issue my friend...you do. Your the one making irrational statements based off of irrational statements. Those where "JOKES" the people in association with those people gotta kick out of it...sounds like a joke to me ...take the time out the find the articles they came from you might learn something. It is possible for a white person to dislike Obama just like it is possible for me a black person to dislike obama. I just won't put up with lame racial mud throwing excuses...or illogical and irrational statements to back your dislike. That is childish...we are all adults or supposed to be.

You are 100 percent correct on that statement. Where were all these people during the Bush years. The only thing that I see positive out of this being all over the news is that the rest of the world gets to see glimps of the US that people of color have known forever. Big deal a few articles and whites are on here are upset. Just look back and see what has been written about anyone not white all these years. Or better yet just watch FOX NEWS and see you find one positve report on anyone that is not white.

Well, the fact is most individuals who dislike Obama are indeed racist...especially at those lovely intelligent town hall meetings.

They refuse to accept him as their president because of his African American descent. I know it's difficult to grasp, but it's true.

I know A LOT of Obama haters. What do they hate exactly? His color. Nothing more.

I know a lot of people who think that Obama and his POLICIES are horrible. Not a single one cares a bit about his color. I live in the deep south too. I don't think of his color, don't care about his color, but, I do think he is one of the most devisive, detrimental things to happen to the US in a long long time. He makes Bush look good and I didn't think that was possible.

I have heard a lot of black people say they voted for him ONLY because of his color. His color had nothing, absolutely nothing to do with not voting for him. His policies had everything to do with it

I would say that 90% or better of these protestors feel the same way. Its just much more fun to say they are all racist

I'd love to say most Obama bashers aren't racist, but it really is a color issue. Sad, but true.

Can you prove that please. I would like to know where you got your facts.

And this is exactly why, racism continues in the United States. Ignorance. Racism would be a non-issue, if people moved past it. But it seems that those who are attempting to 'fight' racism, are those that continue to push 'racism' as an excuse for everything. What a load of crap. I will tell you right now, racism is a huge money maker. It might as well be marketed out as a business.

Now let me get this straight..

I grew up around black people, and am forced to interact with them when I go to stores like walmart. Now, when the majority of rudeness I experience comes from a certain demographic, I'm not allowed to say anything about it because thats racist? Please.

We all know african americans as a culture are louder. They express emotion by jumping around, stamping their feet, and so on. They are also less likely to conform to standards set forth by society. This is obvious in predominately black towns. Many black neighborhoods are trashed. When a formerly white neighborhood that was pristine and beautiful starts to see a large influx of african americans, the quality and safety of the area declines. The primary example is what is called "White Flight". I have seen my old home town become destroyed with graffiti, gangs, drugs, robbery, murder and it is no longer safe to even leave your doors unlocked. This happens EVERYWHERE. If you say it doesnt, your either ignorant or blind.

So because of a repeatable, constant, and predictable pattern is caused by black people, we are not allowed to criticize it or else we are racist?

Its like they are allowed to do whatever they want, but anything negative said about them is construed as racist.

If I said I wanted to move away because black people were ruining the neighborhood, I would be racist?

If I called a black lady ignorant for bringing 50 items through a 10 items or less line in WalMart (which I've seen happen a lot), I am being racist?

If I talk about how most crime is committed by the black population, I am being racist?

Until we are allowed to state the facts without being labeled racist, we are screwed as a nation.

Well since you can't get him on that ... what about the fact that he wants all americans to have a change...no matter their skin color nor financial standing...this is comnig from some one who doesn't like him very much.

unlikelycandidate,
Please define his version of change. What type of 'change' does Obama want to make? and for who? Does this change also include executives? Does this change also include doctors? Does this change also include the middle class? Define what 'change' means to Obama please.
