Hey all \/ \/ \/
new to this site i've been trying to figure out how to start a thread of my own any help would be appreciated

and also the two picturse of Astronaut Richard Truly they don't look like they are the same person
if you take the ears for instance the b.w photo the ears poke out more than the colour photo
and the nose of the b.w photo is "skinnier" or thinner than the colour photo

anyway great work zorgon you've really put your heart into this thread

and again anyone that can help me with my little problem/\ /\ /\

thanks in advance

Thanking you !

The red area on the west coast highlighted on that map correlates with information I have read from elsewhere

I must resume looking in Australia more when I get some time off a painting as I do recall some politicians being quite pissed by allowing another "Joint Facility" to the US Navy and not receiving the the F-22 LOL

Too bad the parrots don't know that the research organisations in Australia are as "thick as thieves" with with the whole program.

That's because your in Australia
.mil links have 'difficulties' out side the USA

So maybe Exhubernt1 just posted 'sensitive' material

...and I thought I was in the USA. Heck as a youngster I celebrated 4th of July unknowingly on a family trip years ago at Woomera which was quite a surprise for the whole family to walk into that celebration...jet flyovers and some closed shops if I remember correctly

Anyway I found another link on the One Way street of information

Searching SPAWAR DSTO I came across this Powerpoint:

www.charlestondca.org...

Link description :

SPAWAR, SSC-Charleston ************ . CAPT Bruce Urbon ... Modified from DARPA DSTO . RTT, TIPS, TTI . Academia Partnerships

I deleted Name and email in the link description provided by Ixquick search engine

In there I found a link which timed-out again regarding their "Social Notworking" network I guess... which can be found here:

ins1.sd.spawar.navy.mil...

[EDIT] to add working link and yes I know I could go proxy to get these public documents but then I may be considered GARY. all I search is Public Domain

This all seems pretty standard.
Makes sense, too.
No reason it can't be true.
I like it, too.
About time.

But ARE YOU SERIOUS?!
THAT'S SUCH A JOKE!
JUST TOTAL FAKE BULL CRAP.

WHY WOULD THEY HAVE SUCH A CRAPPY LOOKING LOGO?!
HONESTLY!
It should be like a giant cannon with a hot babe in a red bikini and red heels riding it and the world is just like a boom box and we're all just dancing something fierce and it should say something catchy like... like...

"SPACE! HELL YEAH!"
Or like...
"SPACE. TAKE IT. YEAH. TAKE IT HARD."
Or
"SPACE. LET'S RUN THIS BITCH."

Something neat.
Or just simply "Space guns. Don't even mess with us." or just such as "Space Forces. Don't even do a thing."

Know what I'm sayin'?

We should totally make our own Forces In Space logo's!
Maybe they'd use one.
That'd be awesome.

So the Navy are controlling these aswell... according to RAND its all 'hypothetical' ofc

Chapter Three introduced kinetic-energy weapons for striking earth
from space by referring to the natural phenomenon of meteoroids.
Here, we present an idealized discussion of the physics of meteoroids
to develop a quantitative understanding of the physics of kineticenergy
weapon reentry. The appendix then describes the physics of
hypervelocity impact and translates this into elements of weapon
design and goes on to explore the trade-offs in responsiveness, logistic
effort, lethality, and accuracy that constrain the selection of particular
orbital basing alternatives. The appendix concludes by extending
the exploration to the delivery of conventional munitions
from space, where some constraints are relaxed.

Sorry if somebody said this already, but could this be Regan-like disinformation [like the Star Wars project) to scare the U.S' enemies?

Just a theory!

It is mindboggling what is out there for us to see. Thx Zorgon!! S+F

I liked this quote I found when I was Googling in "MOL space spies"

""We used to have a joke in the program," said former astronaut Richard Truly in a statement. "That, one day, there was going to be a little article back on page 50 of a newspaper that said, 'an unidentified spacecraft launched from an unidentified launch pad with unidentified astronauts to do an unidentified mission.""

This thread is super long. But I did see some interesting stuff that I've never heard. But I have a question. Even if the Navy was involved in secret space programs, whats the big deal? Im pretty sure every branch of military are doing something that is completely known by the public. Whats suppose to be the big shocker here?

Er, that a democratically uncontrolled secret part of the US government is having their holidays on the moon and entertaining aliens?

As a skeptic, and one who relishes the title, I always want to (a) check detail (b) ask questions (c) do a full sniff test on any post that interests me. Especially when it comes from Zorgon who anyone at ATS knows can produce some incredible threads, the LivingRoom site is of particular note. Thank you for sharing some of the best finds from that site here (again!) Zorgon.

Okay rather than the usual bleating that goes on here "ooh best thread ever" and "Brilliant blah blah blah" and even worse "Starred and Flagged" ... and the worst yet " This has been posted before" and the forlorn "Could you please summarize"... I want (as ever) to do my stuff.

I am so busy so I look for the stuff that really stands out, and amid all the interesting links and pictures I see the following:

-------------

Quote from Page 1:

"This is the actual size of tether cable

But when I first found this a few years a go the info was on this URL (which now gives you a redirect)

hyperspace.nrl.navy.mil...

Catchy URL to be sure, eh?

I contacted the NAVY webmaster for permission to reprint the data as it was now declassified and received that permission

Here are the links to the data and photos

* Tether Physics and Survivability Experiment (TiPS) - Naval Research Laboratory
* www.thelivingmoon.com...

* Processed TiPS Images From MSSS/AMOS - Naval Research Laboratory
* www.thelivingmoon.com...

* Tether Physics and Survivability Experiment (TiPS) - Naval Research Laboratory
* projects.nrl.navy.mil... - (the hyperspace.nrl.navy.mil... link is still on this page - I didn't make it up )

------

Wow - incredible stuff.

I am surprised (but not really) that nobody cared to check this out (and yes I search threads before commenting LOL). So I did... and perhaps a lesson to some people here I use my favourite (English spelling hah) site:archive.org (otherwise known as the good old 'Way Back Machine') and voila here you go:

1. Go to this website: web.archive.org...
2. Enter: hyperspace.nrl.navy.mil/ in the search box and take a look!

A bunch of old archived bits from this site, the most recent one that I can get to work well is:
October 12, 1999 click on that and take a look:

(Later ones have redesigned look but no content... this one actually works)

There are four links... and just look at the titles... go there and read the content:
Code 8200 Spacecraft Engineering Department
Code 8210 Design, Test & Processing Branch
Code 8220 Systems Analysis Branch
Code 8230 Control Systems Branch

Very interesting, quite where this really leaves us I am unsure. I am sure that Zorgan has seen all this. The pages include the names (emails and phone numbers!) of the pertinent Branch Heads under each section.

Love it.

So people remember: archive.org next time you find a 'dead link ' that you know to have existed at some stage.

Now of course (cheesy): Starred and Flagged... primarily because Zorgon does create the most compelling threads here...

AskBaby!!! (edited to correct spelling)

Space command is no secret - there are plenty of industry books on this - full spectrum total theater dominance which is the name for the military strategy of the US is under command of Space Command - There is an excellent book on all of this called Wired For War, by Peter Singer - nothing untowards - you should just read what is freely available.

Maybe they don't want anyone to know where those rocks are
