I agree with your post, but isn't "cracking down on anti-semitism" an impossible task? After all any attempts by governments to coerce or encourage people to think differently will just reinforce these peoples' views that the government is controlled by the Jews (sorry, Zionists), while driving their opinions further underground (or onto sites like this).

An example: Holocaust deniers hold the fact that holocaust denial is a crime in many countries as proof that the holocaust didn't happen!

Paranoia, fear, loathing and scape-goating are the hallmarks of the 21st century unfortunately, and there just seems to be no reasoning with it.

Ill tell you what. Discrimination is always based on ignorance and stupidity. If this is the truth in this case, the man should be fired and disgraced publicly.

But taking a gander at the source and seeing a big red box on the top of the front page with the words "anti-semitism" in it makes me think twice before believeing the story.

In my opinion a news agency should never show ones bias no matter where their funding come from. I didnt read the entire article because I saw that little sign. If it did not contain that sign, I would ave been happy to read through it, but their are so many false calls when it comes to "anti-semitism" it has caused a lack of respect for many when it comes to those who cry wolf the instant it has anything to do with Jewish culture and Israel.

I agree, the German govt. cracking down on it will do nothing. It is probably about as effective as the war on drugs, but still Germany does want to put the holocaust behind them. They are finding it harder than they thought.

Good find, I don't know what it has to do so much with this particular Jewish couple, but just read a couple of the comments on that article and see the hatred Germany has for Jews. Germany and Iran, two peas in a pod.

What makes your version of the subway story anymore believeable than the story the Jewish couple have reported? You were fined and almost jailed. Usually, where there's smoke there is fire and your antisemitism is hard to hide

im not asking you to believe me

But you know, it happened to me and i have nothing to gain with a story like that one, it happened to me, that all and it happened to lot of differents ppls too.

the time you invested in staying front ATS , maybe opened your eyes. but IMO, would be way much better i you went outside, in the real world, not only behind the safety of your screen

Once again Bombeni, you really dont uderstand where the real problem is.
Your mind is so closed, you cant antagonize two concepts without thinking:
"if he/her dont agree with me, its only BS and he/her is wrong and against me"

Its usualy called ignorance

once again, the word antisemitism have to be understood before being used, and obviously, you dont know what that word mean.

I know how is my country and i saw that kind of made up events way too often.

When the oprressed turn into agressors, using every possibilities to take a revenge is common thing in post-wars

Just look how the world is moving now.

I am from Holland and have lived for 8 years in Germany and I've NEVER EVER been discriminated by any German! I got discriminated however by Turks, Polish and Russians.

I also see no difference between racism/discrimination and anti-Semitism.
Why do Jews need a special word for it? To make it look worse than it is?

hear hear you speak the truth

The wars long gone and we ordinary Germans still have to put up with all the jewish claims concerning the holocaust. As if for the next 1000 years we still have to have a bad conscience for things that we didnt have anything to do with.

I just found an article about this in a German Newspaper;
www.rundschau-online.de...

A spokeswoman for the federal police said in Frankfurt, the plane was from Paris - and the Schengen area - come, so it basically does not give immigration control. So far, there is also no evidence that at the exit check to Israel the anti-Semitic insults had taken place. These checks would be carried out in boxes and not in a bus or hall, as stated in the article. If the woman's visa had expired, it was also a crime, and there would be a record/file about it, but during an inspection of the computersystem it was not found. The police wants to contact with other authorities to check if they have any records of this event. (dpa)

So, it appears this story is kosher male cow manure!

What is wrong with you? Do you so sorely lack the critical thinking skills that you just push this complete and utter drivel, or are you just trolling?

I went and read that article, and cruised around the website. It is complete trash. They are very big on Israel is awesome, everyone else sucks.

I read the presstv article that you are condemning. Who cares? This is not about Iran. Besides that, the lady the article is about IS ISRAELI! How can it be Jew bashing, when she is Jewish?

As for your assumption that Germans hate Jews because of what some asshats said on a discussion board...we can then conclude that the following are true:
All Americans hate Minorities, especially Mexicans and black people
All Christians hate everyone not Christian
All English hate All East Indians
All Muslims wants Everyone dead
Everyone wants all Muslims dead
All Democrats want to kill all Republicans
All Republicans want to kill all Democrats
All Americans hate everyone else in the world
Everyone in the world hates all Americans
Everyone in the world hates all Jews

We know that those are completely stupid, but using absolute logic like you do, we have to conclude those are all true. Now pull your head out, take a deep breath of clean air, and start being logical.

And you with the audacity to use the phrase "holocaust card" as though it was some figment of imagination. If any nation should be hanging it's head in shame it is Germans, but the rest of us have tried to forgive and forget.

[edit on 23-7-2009 by Bombeni]

What audacity? The Holocaust happened no doubt about it yet I dont have anything to do with it

Why should I hang my head in shame about something that happened 60 years ago? The jews to this day use this fact to make us pay and keep our heads bowed in shame as a nation.

We the newer generations to not have to pay for the sins of our forfathers any longer!

Ok, that's a mistake by me, BUT that makes it even less plausible, how many Germans would have read this and commented to it?
I believe none.

Good find from that German newspaper.
I think that this issue can be put to rest and declared to be someone making a mountain out of a mole hill. Someone probably looked a the family wrong while they were in Germany and they freaked out--which is uncalled for.

Also, "antisemite" goes also for Arabs, it's not just a Jewish thing. So, if I hate Arabs, I could be labeled an antisemite. At least, I read that once before.

Press TV is in English. So, the Germans that do speak English could go to it and read it.

Its not "Arabs" in particular. It is anyone who lives within Asia Minor. These are semites. Jews were not the first semites nor have they been the only semites. It is a general term that can be applied to many different peoples.

Anyone discriminating against those within this territory are labeled "anti-semite"...

No you shouldn't hang your head in shame. It's not something that you were responsible for and not something you could have done anything about.

But, it IS your responsibility (as with ALL Europeans, myself included) to acknowledge it, remember it and make sure it doesn't happen again. Not just to Jews but to anyone.

Ahh, okay. I didn't know that it applied to anyone in that general area. That's good to know though. At the end of the day, it still isn't a phrase used only of Jews.
