It's crazy that this is happening right at the same time as the total eclipse!

If this causes mad rain and bloody cold weather, I want more of it. It's great here, apart from the strong winds.

Muddle up a few coin sized pieces of peeled fresh ginger...
add 1.5 oz of Vodka, Gin is even better...
.5 oz. of Cointreau (not triple sec, c'mon spend some money you cheapskates)
1 oz of white cranberry juice
a dash of peach bitters.
Shake it with ice and one good sized sprig of thyme, and then double strain into a chilled cocktail glass. No garnish need, but a piece of thyme looks pretty good.

I just wonder about these UV thing, UV-C is the most leathal of the three, what would happen if too much UV-C were to get thru the magShield ?

I also heard that the suns X-ray output is increasing, if so, is it also true water blocks x-rays ?

The magnetosphere does not filter UV radiation, or any electromagnetic radiation, including x-rays. It is our atmosphere (mostly the ozone layer) which protects us.

Since when is there air in space? And now that I ponder it, what is solar "wind"? Is it energy? Or wind in the sense we earthlings experience wind......air? I'm thinking I missed something pretty important.

Questions though: when I saw the black triangle sail I immediatley thought of all the black triangle UFO sightings: test fights of solar powered craft?
And the idea that if you use these solar sails in outer space exploration you would have unlimited power. How can that be if you are continually moving farther and farther away from the sun? At some point wouldn't they just drift?

You're correct, solar wind sails would only work within, or close to the Solar System. At greater distances it may be possible to use light to propel your craft rather than the solar wind. A light sail would be very much larger than a solar wind sail though.
