No, to be critical of you thread but, while I have not problem believing that this may happen in countries with such strict sharia and fundamentalist Islamic laws I see this as been used as propaganda by the site the information is coming from.

If the Jerusalem post was so concern about the mistreatment of Iranian girls how com they are not talking about what the feudal monarchy in Saudi Arabia that is also involved in worst behavior against women.

I guess what the Jerusalem post is doing is trying to gain sympathy in case they bomb the nasty and dirty girl killing country of Iran.

That is why I never take bias news too seriously but sometimes is good to research on how much is true and how much is propaganda and why only is been concentrated on Iran when is other Islamic countries that do the same.

Although it's disgusting as well as heart wrenching, (I feel for those poor women/girls) good find and post OP. I can't believe the way women are treated over there.

lol

I was about to ask the same thing lol.

Has anyone been to Saudi and taken note of what happens there serious question?

I just noticed a few individuals dogging the idea out and the OP somewhat and was wondering how many of them know about Saudi. I'm not sure if it's as bad but it is pretty darn bad.

Edit taking out my over bold lol

I agree with the Iranian people taking control of their country from the illegal regime and then do what they wish to Khamenei - which is likely to execute him for war-crimes against humanity.

You beat me to the post. How can these backword people ever get over themselves in time!? Those poor insecure guys would shrivel in the kind of competition, :and temperment" that occurs here.

Though I am sure there are many noble Iranians that are being overshadowed in this. It's just a shame that when the NWO gets Iran that they will make sure they keep the murderers and the good ones will be most of who pay the price.

That's all I have to say.

I agree entirely however I was just so outraged and had never heard of this before, I thought I'd post it. I guess propaganda can be TRUE as well as false. Unfortunately, this "propaganda" is true.

I'm glad you did post it, OP, because we tend to overlook a lot in our outrage over these wars for profit and power. Yes, we can protest against the West's aggression against Islamic nations whilst at the same time maintaining the rage against Islam's disgusting and barbaric practices.

Your thinking too rationally here's what I make of it.

The girl is arrested for a crime but she is a virgin.
A virgin can not go to hell in this particular belief system.
So the man has to marry her and have sex with her.
The man marries here so he is not in sin for having sex with someone he's not married to.
Now if the girl is executed and is guilty of the crime they believe she will go to hell.
If the girl dies a virgin and is guilty of the crime she would go to heaven because virgins don't go to hell.

My take: the whole sham wedding thing is to protect the MAN from committing rape which is against the law and is punishable by death. The man can't rape her unless he's married to her and they can't execute her unless she not a virgin.

I am outraged also, but I can not stop thinking that is a motive for all this information coming from the Jerusalem post in view of what is going on with Israel and the talks of attacks in Iran.

Still Saudi Arabia has one of the worst records on treatment of woman and we get news all the time but because is nothing going on with Saudi Arabia and the US but oil money exchange you don't get to see much of the news.

Even when here in ATS people has gone far and beyond to bring news from that side of the world.

AT least Iran seems to be progressing with the protest and citizens rights to those protest.

Even when we know that when it comes to religion things will not change much for women.

There's a book coming out this September by Robert Spencer called
"Complete Infidel's Guide to the Koran (Paperback)"

Maybe reading it will help make sense of their crazy world view?

Just a thought.

Islam professes enlightenment but all I've read indicates it's a groin-centred culture, a misogynistic paradise for males and hell on earth for females and children. Very primitive, obsessed with 'virginity' and in even worse examples, with female circumcision.

Want proof of alien life?

Want proof of demons?

Stop looking because they are here!!These Iranian authorities raping and abusing people in such hideous and cruel ways are not humans. They are demons straight from the pit of Hell.

The Iranian people are generally good peaceful people, but somehow along the way evil rulers have taken over and put their beautiful country and nice people at risk.

These are becoming dark and wicked days my friends.

Of course it is! The timing is just too perfect. The UN report linked on the first page was written in 1990. Why am I just hearing about it now??? Because Israel wants to attack Iran of course.

That's not to say that it downgrades the story in the least, though, in my opinion. I don't care WHO it's happening to - just that it's happening. The problem is that the government is sanctioning it.

I knew Iran had a horrible record on abuses of women - but I didn't know HOW horrible (or at least it wasn't as graphic) - until now.

You say Saudi Arabia as well? Do they condone this same practice? It especially hits me hard because this is being done to very, very young girls.

Probably the same way as they see Christianity. It's all in what you hear about. I am positive that the majority of Islam's followers do not think this way.

Just goes to show you...The world can say all they want about the U.S. but this kind of b.s. doesn't go down.

At least we have the decency to act human and not like an animal. No-one knows whats after life but one can only hope that when each one of these men passes that they recieve more pain than they ever could have here/alive. All in the name of religion....Truly religous nuts.

This guy deserves to be hung after being castrated after being raped himself by a big 300lb bear.

What kind of god would want you to blow someone up? murder them? or rape them? These people are dumber than rats. I don't even consider them human.

The original post stinks of propaganda designed to further demonize islam, but also to make out as if Iranians are less human than anyone else.

So, this only happens in Iran?

This type of thing doesn't occur in other countries?

Rape doesn't occur in western prisons? Isn't overlooked by the penal system?

Where in Iranian Law can you find that rape is sanctioned? I would like to read that law that supports that.

So, other than all that, and probably more, what is the purpose of posting this thread other than to demonize islam and in particular Iran in a continued surge of anti Iranian propaganda?

Point is? TO get us to write our elected representatives to in turn protest how Iran runs it's prison system?

What good comes of posts like this? Does the poster who dropped this unconfirmed stuff in here even think about that?

I am not a muslim, I am not middle eastern even, but this kind of stuff is nonsense in my eyes unless it is coming from more than one source and of course there is reputation of source to be called into question.

While you no doubt wish yours to be seen to be a PC response, you neglect to address the reality. For example, a woman or girl is prosecuted under Islamic 'law' as a prostitute unless she can bring forth nine male witnesses in her defence when her only crime was to have been raped, molested, victim of attempted or multiple rape, etc. Do you truly believe there's a parallel requirement of female rape victims under current day Christianity ?

You're 'positive' the majority of Islam's followers do not think this way ? Positive ? Then can you demonstrate the reasons for your positivity using facts ? You've just stated that you were unaware even of the contents of your OP until very recently, yet you're suddenly 'positive' about the practices and beliefs of the 'majority of Muslims' ? Despite that on this page alone, a poster has advised that in Saudi Arabia similarly misognyistic practices are common

It amazes me that some people are more concerned about the possible alternative motives behind the story than about the fact that children have been so abused?
Where are your priorities? Politics or human life?

Some people (including me) do not feel the need to repeat what has been said over and over, "Poor child!" - instead, we look deeper into the story and see all of the other bits of information tied in with it.

Children are abused everywhere. Instead of crying over spilled milk, it is best to find out why you spilled it and prevent it from happening in the future.

Also to note, while I judge at the wrong times too, I do not think it is okay for anyone to look down upon the Iranian people solely on this thread without doing some real research yourself. Like...visiting their country type research.

Things are bad, and it is the dictators which is why it is like that. Not "the people".

I find it more interesting that the OP not only posts this story and then provides an evidential link to a UN report proving it's true - for which he gets 2 stars.

The odious comment that this is a quote "Jew Post" and "Propoganda" gets a bucketful of stars.

The depth of anti-semitism on this site continues to surprise me. The depths to which Muslims are willing to sink in the name of their sick religion however does not.

I found myself moaning about my inability to order a Mimosa before 10am this Sunday while having breakfast because of Arizona's religious based alcohol restrictions - this puts it in perspective for me.

Isn't it the religious beliefs regarding females which 'are the problem' quite aside from dictatorial leadership ?

"Including his enforced participation in the rape of Iranian girls"

How do you perform enforced rape on someone if you do not want to take part
sounds physically impossible if you do not want to take part so if he did he wanted to unless i'm missing something
