I think Earthians has a ring to it, onion rings, that's what we'll be served with!

i still don't like it, we are human after all, what if you were born on mars, your mother was born on earth and your father on the moon, the unifying tie here is that that you would still be a HUMAN.

your assuming we are the most advanced race on this planet aren't you, only some of us are, there are a lot of smarter animals out there than some humans.

lol that's taking in consideration that they can actually bear to look at us, im sure some species find us absolutely hideous, just as we would find a species that looks and smells like moving talking **** to be very nasty and not to easy on the eyes.

YYes, you have a point, given enough time people will be born on different planets, so Terran would eventually fade as a way to describe our species, but I still think it's a much better sounding name then Human or god forbid... Homo Sapiens...

If there was a war we would obviously have spacefighters and weopons. I like terrans or homo sapiens.

I like the Sapien part, I just feel like adding Homo to it has been someone's inside joke for the last few hundred years.

I mean HOMO? I dunno, it's just a weird sounding word... ho..mo...ho...mo..., i guess that would be easy enough for them to pronounce

You assume they speak English and have the same references in their culture that we do, or even have spoken language at all. Their word for us could be a series of telepathic images or whatever, and who knows what they could be.

They might want to call us (alien sound)"Click click click" or alien symbols that cannot be transliterated into anything we understand or can relate to.

Don't want to be a poop, but even if we do come across aliens, I think it's unlikely we will relate that well, and it becomes more and more unlikely that everyone understands each other the more alien species you want to introduce to the mix...

In answer to the simple question that started this thread:
We would be called a Third World world. If even that.

I don't think they'd call us anything...
It would be more like...
"Did you wipe your @$$ and flush?"
that's just my opinion.

We would probably be called the "Pride", in their language of course.

I'm thinking there isn't a better word out there describe the human race.
